My wife and I dropped by here for a late afternoon ice cream and were greeted by a very warm and friendly woman behind the counter who was only too happy to give us samples of ice cream and was generous in her scooping of ice cream into our cup. We ordered a scoop of honeycomb and another of Hazelnut chocolate with a decorative and photogenic wafer on top. The ice cream was rich, indulgent and truly delicious. The store had a clean, fresh, stylish in a minimalist way decor and gave us another reason to enjoy our afternoon treat. I'm not always in this area but I'll happily stop by here again. They also have to go pints --- something to think about in the future. read more

We couldn't resist turning around after spotting the big "Gelato Gelato Gelato" sign -- and we're so glad we did! This is honestly the cleanest gelato shop we've ever been to. The staff was friendly and offered us samples before we decided. I had the pistachio and chocolate & hazelnut gelato, and both were absolutely delicious. Immaculate Shop, Incredible Gelato, and the Kindest Staff Gelato del Mar completely exceeded my expectations. The shop is incredibly clean -- everything from the display case to the floor looks pristine. You can tell the owners take pride in both their gelato and their space. I ordered the Pistachio, which was rich, creamy, and packed with real roasted flavor -- absolutely delicious. The staff (who were so kind and welcoming) suggested I pair it with the Chocolate Hazelnut... and wow. A perfect pairing. Swung by this place for the first time when we were on our way to CDM. There were plenty of street parking on the day that we went. Service was great and we were able to sample a few flavors before deciding what to get. I would say all the flavors are on the stronger side, where you could really taste the natural flavors. I think the espresso flavor was the strongest one i've ever had. We ended up getting two scoops: pistachio and honeycomb. honeycomb 4.5/5: honey flavor was nice and strong and I loved how there was a little crunch to it. definitely on the sweeter side so if you have a big sweet tooth, this is the place to go pistachio 4.5/5: very creamy and nutty and also a bit on the sweeter side. paired well with the waffle piece so might get it in a waffle cone next time. read more

I was honestly flabbergasted. Meanwhile, customers standing in line are offered free gelato samples, often multiple samples, but apparently an empty larger cup for a five-year-old is where we draw the line on cost? The photos show exactly why I ask. This time we had brought friends and their children with us, and everyone walked outside with gelato overflowing and melting everywhere. At the volume they buy their cups even if the larger cup costs 50 cents more.. THEN charge me for it! I'd happily pay FOR THE COST OF A LARGER CUP. But after years of loyalty and hundreds of visits.. bringing EVERYONE for "Bacio break" being told this tiny accommodation is costing the company too much money was incredibly disappointing. The first time this manager said this, I let it slide.. this was the 4th recent visit and I HAD TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE. So although their gelato is tasty... they have a very disappointing approach to customer service from top down....hospitality is not anywhere near their priority list.
