Sergio is my goto! He has showed up everytime on time, been very professional, always had fair prices, and gets the job done. Other companies damaged my work trucks but Golden State handled it like a boss! I saw another review of a guy talking bad about this company and I'll be first to say I dont believe that review is accurate. Sergio would never leave someone stranded unless that person denied the tow which in the US Army vets case he did, even said so in his review. These drivers put their lives on the line working in a hazardous area, the longer they wait the more exposure they have. If you're going to call a tow company dont make them wait, your family and their lives are on the line. There is 3 sides to every story, his side, the other side, and what really happened. This guy is going out of his way to ruin the reputation of a hard working company and not admitting his side which really reflects on his character. Car towed Monday night. Left messages all day Wednesday to find out location and pick up my mom's car as she is a senior citizen. Received call back at 4:37pm saying closed until Monday and $50 a day storage. No hold on car per Sheriff dept, yet Golden State said a release is required from Sheriff Office. Deputy specifically stated no hold on car when towed, just owner with ID REQUIRED. Holidays was given for reason not opened until Monday by person who called back us back from Golden State with this number (559)853-7997 person I spoke with on the phone laughed when I stated we were trying all day to get a call back, and also said the Deputy always says no hold but they require a release. No reason given when I asked why, just more laughter. read more

If only Yelp would allow for negative stars. Absolutely the worst towing company! I had my car towed to BMW and the tow truck driver didn't tie my car down or something. Which resulted in damage that Sergio the owner agreed to cover. We Both went over to the auto body shop to get an estimate for the damage. Sergio agreed to cover the total repairs and agreed to show up Friday August 6th to make the down payment for the repairs, so my bumper could be ordered and he no showed. Not only did he no show he has been avoiding my calls and text since. I trusted he'd show since he confirmed a time to meet at the auto body shop. read more

Myself my wife and my two children were in the truck with me when my water pump went out on Highway 99. I pulled over into a supermarket parking lot and called Golden State towing and they told me that they would send a driver out and told me what I thought was a reasonable price. I was on the phone with my insurance company when the tow truck driver pulled up and I asked him for five minutes so that I could finish my conversation with the insurance company. He then proceeded to leave and go to another call!? When I called them back they said it was going to be an hour for him to get back out to me and that they could not waste their time waiting for me when they were other customers as well! Why couldn't they have waited for me for five minutes to finish my phone call and then pick my truck up and take it to where I needed to go since they had already allotted me the time it was going to take to tow my truck 6 miles? I called the company back and told him that an hour was not acceptable and I needed to speak to the manager at which point he said he was a night manager and if I didn't like their policies I should go find my business elsewhere.?! I am a US Army veteran stranded on the side of the highway asking for help and the company refused to help me because five minutes of their time was too precious to give to me I would seriously reconsider using this company and use anybody else if you need a tow. read more

I'll preface this review by saying I didn't even use his services. I called to schedule a jump for my battery thinking my car was dead. After figuring out that I didn't leave any lights/doors open, and realizing my battery was 5 years old, that it most likely needed to be replaced, not jumped. He was a few minutes away from my house and had no problem canceling the service call, and advised that most batteries in Fresno only last about 2 years (!) and that I was more than likely correct that it needed to be replaced. I'll definitely call back if I'm ever in need of a jump or a tow! read more

I was visiting Fresno for a long weekend, and my car broke down late on a Saturday afternoon. Sergio arrived in no time, took a look under the hood to see if it was anything he could fix and determined that he couldn't (he was right - there was an electrical short and the battery was bad), and had my car loaded up in no time. He was courteous and professional, his rig is new and clean, and he was very careful to take good care of my car.
