I looked at the vans available for the dates I wanted and the Zion was just what I was looking for. It was the smaller of the standard sizes of Mercedes vans. That was great because I was slightly apprehensive about driving a larger van. (After driving the Zion, I feel I would be OK with the larger 170 inch wheel base vans.) The rental price was very reasonable considering that the van was essentially my home for three days. The van was well equipped and very comfortable. Staff is very nice and we did bring it in just before Memorial Day so we knew we would probably have a wait. All we needed was generator oil change, checking the water pump and battery load, looking at the tires sensors, checking the roof and a wash.They said we needed new tape on top to keep the solar panels in place and couldn't find anything wrong with the pump. We got it back after three weeks and on the walk-through were actually told that the guys took all the old tape off and cleaned it up when they didn't even need to do that but they thought it was a water repellent issue which it wasn't. So who knows how much extra time went to that at $175 an hour or so. We also noticed later that we didn't get the tire valve caps back and I went to turn on the air conditioner unit in the 96° heat in downtown Saceamento and they had not turned the switch back on for that in the generator.That meant that after consulting with AI during a work event, I I was crawling under the RV in downtown Sacramento on the street to open the generator cover and flip the switch. The work overall cost $1100. Obviously, we did not think it was particularly affordable, convenient and we're not pleased with the handling of the relatively simple items on our list. There's another place not too far from us and a highly rated mobile technician as well that maybe we'll try next time. ARV business model involves multiple different technicians working on the van, which is why it takes so long, but in addition to the inconvenience we just got pretty mixed results on the work.

I managed to pull off to the right side of the road but was only a couple feet away from very fast cars and trucks that would shake my vehicle as they passed. I called AAA but the first towing company they got for me called me 15 minutes later saying they wouldn't be able to get to me for at least 3 hours! After a couple more calls to AAA and a visit from a friendly highway patrol officer, I received a very welcome call from Walter at L&T Towing saying he was on his way. Walter was very friendly and helped me through a stressful situation. He knew the local town of Williams well and directed me to a highly rated mechanic who was able to work on my car early the next morning. He even dropped me off at a nearby Motel 6 where I stayed for the night. I can't thank Walter and L&T Towing enough for their excellent service! Sadly, my car seems to be in bad shape, and I had to leave it in Williams while I continued my trip with a rental car to move my daughter. I'll be back for my car in a few days to have it towed to the Subaru dealer in Sacramento. Hopefully I'll be able to get AAA to use L&T Towing and ideally Walter again for this next tow.
