Food was really good, service was prompt, price affordable and ambiance appropriate for fall decor. We were visiting Douglas for a family memorial and all met here for a late brunch. Party of about 10. Some had breakfast, some had lunch, but everything was tasty. The pancakes looked so different, like none we'd seen before, thick and uniform, like they'd been made in a mold, but they were light and melt-in your-mouth yummy. Chilaquiles were not overly spicy, nice and crispy, like we like them, not soggy. Biscuits and gravy were flavorful and there again, the biscuits were surprisingly light. I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Golden Times Restaurant after having lunch there. I ordered the mushroom burger, and while I expected some greasiness--it is a cheeseburger, after all--the level of oiliness was excessive. It wasn't necessarily awful, but it left an unpleasant, heavy feeling in my stomach. The burger itself lacked flavor and just didn't seem to be of good quality. It wasn't fresh-tasting, and for the price, I expected better. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and our waitress provided good service. The restaurant, which used to be a Denny's, has been converted into this new establishment, but it definitely wasn't an upgrade--it was a downgrade. I don't eat at Denny's often, but from my experience, even their food seemed better than what I had here. Given the high prices, I just didn't feel it was worth it. I hope they improve the food quality because the place has potential, but as of now, I wouldn't return. read more

Service was slow and we were the only two people in the restaurant. It cost us $67 for two cheese burgers with fries, two tacos with fries, and two shakes. After reading the other reviews regarding the overcharging, I should have kept my receipt to if that happened to us. The order was to go, and when we started eating when we got home, we found both burgers were severely undercooked and we ended up throwing them away. The worst customer service. We have been overcharged twice (that we know of) and manager will not honor prices on menu. They charge whatever they feel like and charge extra for fries even though menu says that the meal comes with fries. We will not return and make sure everyone knows to double check receipts because they will over charge every chance they get! read more

This is a great local restaurant! They recently expanded and the food is very delicious, like it was at their old location. Also have good iced coffee. Ordered the Cesar salad and boneless cheese fries. read more

My girlfriend ordered the sourdough burger, and they were out of sourdough bread. She ordered two orders of hot wings (10 piece), and the waiter later came and said they were out of wings and only had for one order (5 piece). The double golden cheeseburger with curly fries wasn't too bad. The salsa was delicious. The wings...I dont know about it being a 5 piece order. Two of the wings were the size of a quarter coin. The horchata tasted like that powder mix. I'll probably give this place another chance but this was my first experience. read more
