But the sales staffs, they were way too bad and tried to sell me expensive ones which I did not really interested. It is funny how I asked for the Manger or Owner to call me to discuss this matter, yet you didn't and simply replied back to my review about your company to protect your reputation via social media. The woman helping me told me about the mail service and she said it would take several days longer if they were mailed to my house but if I pick them up in person it would be faster, that is why I went with that option because I was promised it would be FASTER. You are also LYING in your reply to my post above. I was never told I could pick up the available boxes, I was told they should be in very soon and you will call me when I can pick them up. No one mentioned they were backed ordered until day 10. If I knew, I would have picked up what was available. I wouldn't be wearing the same one day lenses for about 5 extra days straight. I got an eye infection because of this BY THE WAY. I cannot believe the number of lies I have received in person, on the phone regarding this order, and now online to help cover your unprofessionalism. You ordered it 7/11?... I was told it will take no longer than 3-5 days that is why the employee gave me 5 extra pairs to last me until they come in................. I still did not receive them on 7/19. Also, those colored contact lenses that you gave me for free were horrible. I have brown eyes which you should know...why would you give me brown colored contacts that do not change my eye color or make it look any different. This place is WHACK. I went here the other day to adjust my frames. I called them first and they seemed nice. They told me that they would adjust my frames for free...even though I offered to pay. So, i stopped by, and when I got there requesting the service it was just a blank stare. They took my frames to the back and tweeked them a little. They didn't even look at my face really to see if it was sitting straight, or ask me questions about how it feels. I just didn't feel welcomed at all. It's not like I was moochin off free service or anything either, because I could have been a real nice potential client. I was recommended to this office by my coworker a few years ago. Dr. Fan has been my favorite optometrist. She has a great manner with me and I'm sure with all of her patients. The office itself seems to be bustling everytime I stop in. The staff is just ok, I've had good and bad service from them because there seems to be a bit of turnover in the past 3 years. Dr. Fan is a great optometrist to meet with. She tries to ask about me and is very easy to talk to. It's like sitting down with an old friend who also happens to examine your eyes. The appointment is never rushed and she even told me to come back later after my eye was healed for her to check my contact fitting. That means that she doesn't half-ass her patients. She's concerned and very good at her job. I'm glad I have someone like her to go to. They are open on Saturdays which is great for busy people like me. The office carries a slew of brand name frames like Dior, Juicy Coutre, Oakley, and Hugo Boss. They also offer contact lenses but they are so overpriced, I'd rather get mine at Costco. The 1st tier and 2nd tier crap doesn't bother me. Appointments can be made but they do accept walk-ins as well. read more

I had been looking over a month for someone to add a nose guard to my glasses. I finally found these people at Golden Vision Optometry. Not only did they say they could add it to my glasses, but they did it on the spot, refit the glasses to my face, gave me a 20% discount and I got a gift bag on top of all that! Alan was a great help. I called first to ask a few questions about a pair of Oakley sunglasses. Alan invited me to come by to see if he could be of further help. When I arrived, h was busy with a customer but the staff was very friendly as I waited for him. After speaking with him, he adjusted my glasses and answered more of my questions and provided me with a quick but helpful explanation on lens and frame suggestions. I have been coming here for the last 10 years and they are absolutely amazing!! Doctor Jennie fan is super patient and friendly. She makes you feel very comfortable throughout the process. Last week I went in to get fitted for contacts. This was my first time getting contacts so was a little nervous. The assistant Henri was super helpful. He was extremely patient and knowledgeable throughout the process. He walked me through each step from putting on the lens to taking them out. He also helped me pick the color that best suits me. Nice doctors and nice people. Admittedly after reading the reviews I wasn't expecting much, but they were really really cool. I broke my glasses and I was desperate. I got in the afternoon and didn't wait long. I didn't get sticker shock from the prices, they were pretty much about the same as everywhere else...in all I spent a little less than $200 on my glasses (i don't have insurance). I know I can be an indecisive bug,I'm sure I asked a million questions but the girls there were nice, and very attentive. They gave me the option of making the glasses right away (without charging any extra) and I was out the door and able to see again!!!! read more

Golden Vision came to a health fair at my work place and I won a free eye exam and retinal scan. I made the appointment and advised that I had the free exam coupon from a drawing at the health fair and that I have vision insurance and I wear contacts. I showed up early for my appointment and when I presented my coupon, I was advised of multiple charges that were not covered by the free exam (mostly related to my contacts). When I asked why the charges were not conveyed when I made the appointment, the person at the counter just shrugged their shoulders and said they don't know. Total waste of my time. I received no apology, no effort to try to work with me; just a shrug of the shoulders and blank stare. So I called my previous optometrist and made an appointment. AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ANY RATE! In Nov 2012 I ordered computer glasses from them. There were four visits before they finally made the lenses I wanted from the very beginning. I payed $320 for frames. The frames started braking on a regular basis. In the late days of October 2013 (1 year later!) after visiting their office 10+ times, I asked them to change frames. Their office manager Kevin Doe was rude on the phone, never returning the calls, never honoring arrangement for meeting. After speaking with the owner, I was promised to have my money back. Fourteen days later, today, still no check. I called again (maybe for 25th time), but it's useless to speak to these people. I've already lost the benefits which the insurer co-payed to them, and I don't know if I'll ever receive my refund. This is not even a Third World service. This is abomination. read more

I have been going to GVO for years. I love this place BUT BUT BUT it's not cheap. It's down right expensive. If they are cheaper by $100 then GVO is 5 stars. Why do I keep going back to GVO? They get things done right. I tried to go to other places and I have tried several other places but I keep coming back to GVO. I have gotten glasses made in Asia but they all make me blink and wince and struggle to see normally. I can't even count how many pairs of glasses/sunglasses I have bought from GVO and every single pair is done correctly. EVERY SINGLE PAIR. My latest pair has impossible curvatures, I need them with Transition (clear indoor), polarize, polycarbonate, prescription. No one else dare to tackle the job. GVO made the lenses, they slip right in the frame and perfect. No distortion whatsoever. Just perfect. Cost me a bundle but they are perfect. I'm wearing them right now. Perfect. I have also brought my family and friends there. Everyone love the products but everyone also complained about the price. What are you gonna do...GVO does it right but at a cost. I suppose you can think of it this way; you can go other places & waste some $ and time or go straight to GVO and get it done right. I have. TERRIBLE BUSINESS - NO INTEGRITY! Matt said he (per owner) would honor an expired Living Social coupon (I explained extensively what was included in deal) so I drove from Chino Hills (I purchased LS deal when I was in Costa Mesa) to Irvine and was told by another person there (Matt was off) that their least expensive frame was $120 plus lens cost. ...blah, blah, blah...will be additional cost, etc...Bottomline: they won't honor it. Why would they tell me they would, have me drive all the way there then change their mind? Bad business practices...they just try to get you in there then make changes...make sure you document what they say and get written confirmation when you get there because it doesn't appear that they keep their word. The doctor is quit good and kind to patients. However, you have to prepare to wait a long time even you have an appointment. We wait 45 minutes even we are the first patients on AM 10:00 in the morning. The reason they explain is they book 2 patients on 10:00 at the same time to prevent patient delay. That really make me unhappy and prove they don't care patient's precious time. They need to improve this booking method and attitude. Patient's time is same precious as doctor time. Had a new doctor who was very nice which was the only positive. Be cautious with testing and up charging...I was asked to take a test (pre exam) and once I sat down was told it was an additional cost so I declined. I was notified the doctor MIGHT need me to take the test based on the exam....if that is the case, why try to up-sell you patients until you know if it is necessary (it was not after the exam)? Once the visit was complete, I noticed the staff was not transparent about the testing cost(s) prior to the exam which I notified them of. Lastly, I went to go pick up my glasses and they ordered the wrong glasses so had to wait and return AGAIN to pick them up the following week. read more

The front staff have repeatedly tried to charge me for appointments that are covered by my insurance the past two times I have gone in. The Chinese lady who works at the front tries to talk rapidly and make bogus calculations on her calculator to make it seem like you are saving money when in reality I was not supposed to be charged at all. The manager Alan, was not apologetic by any means and I believe encourages his staff to overcharge customers. I am a college student, unable to afford the extra charges they make and am extremely suspicious about his business. Please do not come here, they try and take advantage of their customers, especially if you are young. **VERY suspicious** read more

My sister and I recently ordered new pairs of glasses here with an outside prescription. Henry helped us out with choosing our frames, ordering, and making adjustments to the frames. He even gave us these stick-on nose pads to take home, which are great for people like me who need a little help getting the frames to sit right because of a low nose bridge haha. While my sister had no issues whatsoever with her glasses, there was a delay in receiving my glasses for the first time, and then a mix-up in terms of the type of lens material ordered, so I needed to come back to the office a few more times over a few weeks. I wasn't really in any hurry to get my glasses though, and Henry and the rest of the staff were all very nice and accommodating. I felt like they went out of their way to address my needs. I had broken my favorite glasses and so I took it into this shop for repair for the first time. I was immediately helped at the front desk by Kevin who explained to me in great detail how he would attempt to fix my pretty badly broken glasses step by step, notifying me of any risks of permanent damage in the process. Even during his repair, he constantly came out of the back a number of times to make sure with me what he was going to do was okay. My favorite Karen Walker sunnies have been dropped multiple times and sat on several times by me. One day I noticed it was missing a screw and the right arm was starting to extend out. After visiting dumb sales people at sunglasses hut and nordstrom who looked at me like I was crazy, I thought I take it to people who might know better. I still had my doubts when I consulted with Henry thinking what if he breaks the arm off. The next day, not only did I get an education on how glasses are suppose to fit but he found the right screw and made sure my sunnies framed my head perfectly no charge.
