Strong first impression. Staff is great and set the tone strong. The front desk team navigated my complicated FSA situation. They were flexible and genuinely helpful. The medical assistant, Jay, deserves a specific callout, as he was articulate and thorough from pre-op all the way through post-op questions. It felt personal rather than transactional. They're also structured with mapped out follow-up plans. Dr. Melikian's consultation was engaging and attentive. He flagged tissue scarring that had been noted at a prior eye exam, explained it clearly, confirming I was still an excellent LASIK candidate. What gave me even more confidence was that I independently followed up with a retina specialist afterward and his assessment aligned perfectly with Dr. Melikian. Going into surgery day, I'll admit I wasn't sure how I felt about having a separate surgeon (Dr. Youssef) from my consulting physician. Two different doctors felt like two different expectations. I was also bracing for something out of a horror movie. The reality felt like a Disney princess movie, calm, safe, and over before I knew it. Dr. Youssef's confidence alone is reassuring and combined with the sedatives, the whole procedure was pretty much effortless. I even came in with a chronic cough that day and it was a complete non-issue. Post-op at the Pasadena location matched the same energy, clean, organized, and welcoming. Vision is still in the early blurry stages, but given that it's only been two days post-op, the dryness and inflammation are completely normal. I went in on 3/2/26 prepared to invest in a full new setup including Kate Spade frames with progressive transition lenses, but I walked away 400 dollars out of pocket with glasses that are completely unusable. ​My primary need is seeing my computer screen, but when I sit down everything is blurry. Instead of addressing the lens issue, the staff tried to "rig" the frames by adding double nose pads and bending the ear pieces so tightly they dug into my head to force the glasses higher. When I returned after my first pair was finished on 3/16, a different staff member admitted the lenses were made incorrectly, yet they repeatedly mentioned a one-time fee for the correction as if the error was my fault. ​Between the initial fitting and the follow-ups, I spoke directly with four different staff members on the sales and fitting side. I received a second set of lenses on 3/25, but they were just as blurry. Trying to find the "sweet spot" in the prescription caused so much eye strain that I was in tears by 10 AM the next day. When I finally asked for a refund, they refused and even told my insurance company no. I am now out 400 dollars, I still do not have functional glasses, and I was never even given a copy of my prescription. ​I have officially filed a formal complaint with the California State Board of Optometry regarding the refusal to refund for a non-functional medical device. I am also reporting the office for violating the FTC Eyeglass Rule, as I was never provided a copy of my prescription after my exam. While the energy in the office is positive, the policies regarding defective products and the lack of empathy for inaccurate results is unsettling. If your prescription doesn't work out the first time, be prepared for a very difficult and expensive struggle.

I really appreciated their preparedness knowing my appointment time and addressing me by my name. For my eye check up, I had Dr.Nguyen. She did an amazing job in making sure I was comfortable for all tests and took the time to answer all my questions. I was thankful for her knowledge and being open to educate me on eye health. We were sent to a different office but after calling around I finally managed to get him a sooner appointment close to home, same day. The location is super convenient because it's close to the shopping mall so we were able to do a quick Costco run after and knock off a few items on my to-do list (happy wife, happy life) they even offered to take care of our parking which was a really nice touch since parking is a whopping $15.00. Doctor was funny and great and the female nurse was very kind. They made a scary situation into a not so bad one.
