I'm getting old. I finally needed to get reading glasses after having been blessed with perfect vision for over 40 years. I did the Costco thing for a pair of readers. Then I decided I needed some progressives so could drive and read my email at the same time. Seriously...I'm sick that way. I also wanted the snap on magnetic sunglasses. I spent over $600 bucks here at Eyestyles and I really did not like them. There was just a little slice of glass at the bottom for reading. Oh well. Live and learn. Fast forward a year and I went back to Costco for another cheap pair of readers. $100 for a really nice pair. I ended up dropping them and then stepping on them. I went back to Eyestyles to get my progressives updated and to fix the Costco readers. They fixed the Costco glasses for free but it still cost over $350 for the new lenses in the progressives. I got guilted into taking some additional $49 eye exam in addition to the eye doctor exam. The place is nice but I felt like they were trying to up sell me too much. Like a high pressure manicure up sell. There has got to be cheaper places that are nicer than Costco, right? read more

This location is very efficient with appointments, has friendly staff, and a great selection of eyeglasses to boot! Booked my appointment the day-before very easily through ZocDoc for this location. Filled out my paperwork beforehand online and love that they text you to remind you of your appointment. Natalie is the coolest optician I have ever met and Dr. Leslie is the sweetest optometrist ever. She has the most easy-going chair-side manner and makes you feel comfortable while checking out your eyes. Some of the receptionists are borderline rude in conversation, and don't communicate well between each other and patients. One said I can have my glasses fixed by next day (confirmed w lab), and the next said not for at least 4 days. (Confirmed by lab) inconsistent communication is all over the place there. Ugh! I changed this to a one star from 2. Thought I'd give them another chance. Went in w a broken pair of glasses I bought from them.. They said no they can't fix them. So I asked if they could at least pop a lens in that I had that They previously replaced because I lost it after it popped out. (I found the lens I lost) She brought it in the back and the guy said no I can't because it came from a different frame not knowing that it was the exact frame the lens came from. So now I was blatantly lied to. Looks like they're all about the money. Once again the front desk person wasn't helpful or really cared. read more

I came here to get nosepads for my eyeglasses. Being asian = low nose bridge. I had foolishly bought some cute Ray Bans that I thought would work out... but when the lenses were put in, I found that they were unwearable (the glasses were so close to my face that the lenses touched my eyeball, wtf). Distressed, I brought them to this place that my mom had recommended. It took about a week but they were able to drill in a small hole and insert nose pads into my glasses. Keep in mind that this probably required a lot of work because 1) these glasses were definitely NOT meant to have nose pads on them and 2) the nose pads are not placed directly onto the glasses, but rather there is a wire that extends slightly outwards (in a not so obvious way) and is adjustable). Overall, they did an outstanding job and I am VERY happy with my glasses. The price was $30, but honestly, it was worth it. I can now wear my glasses without issue :) And the person that helped me was very nice. Thank you! read more

I've been coming here for my yearly check ups for 3 years now and the staff here is super friendly and never fails to give great customer service! I have never seen a business where each employee knows the ins and outs of working at their work place - insurance, bills, everything. They're very detailed and never gives an attitude. I am really happy and impressed about their work ethics whether it be face to face or over the phone. The doctors here are really really good. They know what they are doing and are very experienced. I really feel like I'm taken care of. I never felt like they just want my money or they're being dishonest most especially with bills. I will definitely recommend them to everyone! read more

I was panicked after I found out I forgot my glasses in Montreal and I was on a trip to Anaheim CA and much needed my glasses to drive the rental. I've ended up at Eye Styles after reading all your great reviews here while I was waiting for my plane. I was not disappointed, best customer service ever. They greet me quickly, no appointment and I had an eye exam, I chose glasses for 99$ (lens included) and they were ready in 35 minutes! I was out of there in just a little more than an hour, eye exam included, no waste of time in my vacation. I would definitely go back there if I was living in California. I did meet with legendary Dr. Glass who explained me interesting thing about the laser surgery, a very nice and professional doctor. Everybody at Eye Styles were fantastic and very welcoming. Love this place! I stopped in for the first time last year as I needed to have glasses repaired for a friend in an emergency. Michelle was super friendly and they were able to help me find a solution that was both quick and cost effective. I stopped in today to have my favorite sunglasses repaired. Again, the service was exceptional. Friendly and knowledgeable staff!!! One thing that stands out about this store is that they appear to be genuinely interested in helping their customers. In the situation above I had taken the glasses that needed emergency repair to the store where they were originally purchased and was told that they would not fix them and couldn't help me with a solution no matter how much I was willing to pay. I came here a year ago and Dr Rosenthal remembered me! also, they have an awesome Groupon deal, I paid 369 for an exam for glasses and contacts, frames and glare free lenses. I was going to change my old frames with new lenses but new frames were only 29 bucks with the deal so since my old lenses weren't too bad, I got a while new set so that I can have my old ones as back up. Dr. Glass himself was very thorough, very approachable for answering questions, and very clear in his explanations about what he was doing and the physiological aspects of my vision and prescription changing. I have never had an optometrist explain to me so patiently and thoroughly the physiological components of my eyes and near-sightedness like he did. He is truly a gem. He was also very personable. I have been going to Lifestyles for several years, and find myself wondering why. The doctors are OK, but completely uninvolved in the process of making your glasses. Your glasses order is taken by whoever is not busy behind the counter, and I'm not sure they are even trained opticians. On more than one occasion my glasses had to be remade due to errors in measurements they took. After two tries on my latest pair, I refused to accept them and I have asked for a full refund. So far I have received nothing but a run around and delaying tactics. I spent close to $800 on these special new ZOOM lenses and high-end frames, and couldn't even see clearly through them (twice!!). My husband stopped going there a year ago when he needed new glasses because he considers them way too expensive and not worth the extra money. read more

I have to update my review because I recently purchased frames from Costco and took them in to have my prescription added and Dr. Sitty (formerly Rosenthal), as usual, is absolutely amazing at what she does. She genuinely cares for her patients. I ended up needing to adjust my frames because my eyes are not used to glasses and it was overwhelming my eyes; Natalie took care of it immediately with ease and the friendliest attitude. Our first time here and was stoked for the selection of glasses available. Stacy helped us as I had no idea what I needed. She is awesome and the experience was over the top. No pressure as my last eye doctor was. I got screwed there and my over $300 out of pocket glasses after my insurance were not useable. I won't mention the name.
