This is the only place that has my prescription right. I had Lasik before and so now I cannot see things 100% like I did before even with glasses on. I went to a few places before and could not use the glasses. Dr Lee is the only person that was able to get my prescription exactly right. My daughter got her glasses there too and later on decided to take the tint off, Dr Lee was willing to redo her glasses for free. Not many doctors would be willing to do that. My ophthalmologist wasn't able to accommodate a schedule change a month and a half out (rolls eyes), so I decided to find another eye doctor to utilize my VSP insurance before the end of the year (otherwise it's wasted). *sad face*I went here based off a recommendation by some family friends and have been very satisfied ever since.The customer service is wonderful and the office hours are extensive. They're open from 10:00am - 7:00pm, Monday - Friday and 10:00am - 6:00pm on Saturdays, so I'm happy that I can come after work or on the weekend. The selection of frames leans on the more high end side, so if you're looking for new Ray Bans, Burberry, Christian Dior, Tiffany, this store will have the latest trends. I ended up settling on a pair of Tiffany frames. I'm so fancy!! :P I also came here to inquire about color contacts and Dr. Lee was able to special order a range of blue contacts for me to try out before purchasing a set. I love that the staff really cares about customer satisfaction and I found the perfect pair of prescription contacts to prepare for an upcoming comic convention. The best experience I've had for an eye exam. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. Answered all my questions and gave me free consultation and guide to Lasik. I came into Prime Eye Care for the first time and they did not make me feel pressured to do any additional tests that would cost me more money nor did they pressure me to buy new glasses with them. Even when I wanted to know the price it would be for lenses and frames they asked if I wanted to use any old frames to save some money which I have never been offered that by Visionworks or LensCrafters before. Dr. Lee is not only a skilled, professional, and humorful O.D. but a wonderful and caring person. I went in for my eye exam as I noticed my vision has changed over the pandemic. BTW, he and his staff wear masks and are super careful so please respect that. Anyway, Dr. Lee carefully examined my eyes and noticed my optic nerve was larger and thinner than normal (might be early signs of glaucoma). He recommended I go and see an ophthalmologist and have it evaluated. My ophthalmologist checked it out and said to have it monitored annually. Dr. Lee carefully reviewed my previous records and saw that within a year and a half my C/D ratio (cup to disc, I had to look that up) had nearly doubled. He was calm but concerned and suggested I might want to have my next checkup in 6 months. I called my ophthalmologist and turns out she didn't get a chance to review my previous records. Having done so she still wasn't too concerned because of other factors. But I'm so glad to have Dr. Lee as my OD and will recommend him to my friends and family! read more

For the last 5 years I have been getting my eyes checked through Kaiser and I truly didn't realize how bad Kaiser's service was nor did I realize that I needed everything that Dr. Lee was able to check, diagnose and discover everything that was bad about my eyes. It had been a minute since my last eye exam, so I went to see Dr. Patrick Lee based on word of mouth. This is a new facility -- the interior is really clean (if someone's going to be touching around my eyes they/the environment better be clean!) and well organized. Dr. Lee was very professional but without being stuffy -- like talking to a friend, except with an O.D.! Come to find out, he actually graduated from the same optometry school as my cousin -- small world! He was efficient and happy to answer all of my questions. I only went in for glasses, but will definitely go back for contacts. The office staff is friendly, attentive, and very patient (I'm a little indecisive, like almost an hour indecisive, back and forth indecisive, wait let me try those again indecisive). Even though there were about 10 other people in the office at the time, I felt like I was the only one! The person helping me was very knowledgable about lens materials and costs. She made different recommendations for comfort/style and crunched the numbers on the spot so I had an idea what my insurance would cover and what I would have to pay. Their frame selection is good and growing: john varvatos, hugo boss, prada, gucci, marc jacobs, even gunnar (for you tech folk) to name just a few. I'm excited to see what will be there next time! And, for my special people, there is a 99 Ranch Market that is about to open up right in the plaza. How convenient is that!?! When it comes to any doctor's appointments, the quality of care comes first for me, as I also serve in the health care system. I found Dr. Patrick Lee through the word of mouth, I went into the office because my glasses and contacts (purchased else where) were causing me headaches. Speaking of the quality of care, I was already impressed from the first phone call. The staff sounded very kind yet professional. Dr. Lee was very friendly and knowledgeable. Not many doctors would do the pre-testing themselves, yet he did. Meanwhile, he asked for a thorough history to assess the possibilities for my headaches. He worked with the equipments smoothly as he explained everything he was doing. He took his time in examining the health of my eyes, did not get that any where else. He told me that optometry is not about glasses/contacts only. During the yearly exams, optometrists are the frontline health inspectors of the eyes, as the eyes can also reflect the general health of a person like diabetes mellitus and more. Prevention is the best cure, right?! He believes that as an optometrist, he can make a difference and change the stereotypical perception of the field: simply 1, 2, 1, 2, which one can you see better?! I thought that was very impressive and I was completely blown away. More importantly, his words matched his actions during my exam. I can't lie, this was the best eye exam ever had. Frame selection was fun with his staff; very helpful! They took their time to help me, and I did not feel forced to make any purchases. They made sure that I was in love with my glasses before I paid. I did not know that a typical eye exam appointment can be this pleasant. I should have written this review 3 years ago but here it goes. I never had any problems with my eye my whole life (Thank God) but my husband does so he did buy the eye insurance and he went to see his cousin's eye doctor. He also pressured me to see an eye doctor as well since he already purchassd the insurance :) My only weak spot is colored contact lenses if it wasn't for them I probably would never have the pleasure to meet Dr. Lee. They were carrying some of the colored contact lenses brands that I was interested in but in order to get one, I had to go thru an eye exam and lens fitting. By the way I'm from Europe so this procedure was news to me. Anyway I made the appointment and I never forget the experience that I have gotten with Dr. Lee. Don't get me wrong I have had seen 2 or 3 eye Drs in my life (37 years old), but I really don't remember any of them nor the examinations. The way Dr. Lee examines, shows and teaches how one's eye suppose to be is quite unique in a most surprising pleasent way. The tests he had done was left me speechless even to this day. read more

The Good: You hate to do it, but you know you have to get a physical, teeth cleaning and a eye exam every year. This place makes it pretty painless. They don't have the eye puff that everyone hates, they use the eye drop system. They keep a record of the previous years so they can compare and see if things have changed. What more can you want? Being in a new locale for the past year plus -- and now transitioning from Costa Mesa to Huntington Beach, I have relied heavily on Yelp to find me everything from food, to manicurists to hair stylists... This is the first time I've turned to Yelp to locate a doctor. Due to re-up my eye prescription, I searched the nearby area for optometrists and stumbled upon Prime Eye Care less than a mile from the new place. Score! I'd previously received eye services from a highly reputed eye doctor when I lived in Illinois. You know the type...the guy who always wins the popularity award in the local society pages and is subsequently awarded "Best in Naperville" because he rubs elbows with the right suburban glitterati. After coming to Prime Eye Care and receiving care by Dr. Lee, I'm pretty underwhelmed by my prior eye care provider. Dr. Lee spent almost an hour with me, was incredibly consultative and I left feeling like I'd met with a friend who was an eye doctor, not an eye doc who was hurrying through my annual exam only to say "See ya next year!" Dr. Lee immediately offered a solution to a complaint I'd leveled to my previous doctor (that wasn't addressed) about my contacts feeling dry at the end of the work day. Dr. Lee fitted me with a new, more breathable brand and after two weeks of wearing them I'm thrilled. Thanks for another great recomendation, Yelpers! Knowing that my yearly eye exam was coming up, i scooped up the $49 living social deal for a free eye exam and $120 towards glasses deal. setting up an appointment was super easy. of course i didn't use my deal until months after purchasing but whatever, it was a super plus to be able to get in and get out with no hassle. Dr. Lee is GREAT. he was very informative, explained each step and process thoroughly, and made sure i was comfortable. I absolutely hate the air in your eye step, but we actually did not have to do that which was great, and they take photos of your eyes (4 pictures) to have on file for your next visit to compare. unlike my last yearly exam where the doc looked at me like i was about to drop dead, telling me my eyes were in really bad shape from the dryness, only to have that dryness clear up a week later and her telling me all was kosher, Dr. Lee did not give me any anxiety or panic attacks nor did he make me think i was about to exchange hellos with the grim reaper. contact exam was $40. he gave me a pair of contacts to try out for a week to figure out which i like better. they also did a comparison in prices for all the contacts so i know exactly what to expect. with or without insurance vision don't come cheap. my wallet was super sad, but my eyes are super happy. i would totally recommend Dr. Lee and Prime Eye Care to friends and family! read more

Eye exams. It's the only kind of check up I like. I really like seeing how much my vision has changed within the last year or so. I'm a contact wearer so my visit today was to get my eyes checked and for a pair of glasses and a new year supply of contacts. I have VSP insurance, but we all know that even if you have insurance, glasses and contacts in one visit is going to put a dent in your wallet. Everyone in there was especially nice and professional. Dr. Lee was very informative throughout the entire process. I'm used to getting eye exams, the little air puffer thing, and cover your eye business, but I never really knew what they were for. So he explained everything. Let me see the pictures of my eyes. I like that kind of stuff. Haha. So after all that health part was taken care of, we got to the business of sorting out what would be the most cost efficient way of using my VSP benefits. They outlined both scenarios and was really trying to help save me money. I walked out of there today with my glasses prescription in. I have to go back next week to see if the new prescription for my contacts are good to go. And I get to pay for that next week when I order. Overall, the experience was pleasant. So I cheated on Dr Lee for a couple years because my insurance changed. What a bad decision that was. I won't get into how terrible Kaiser optometry or the other optometrist I went to are, but let me say that Dr. Lee is seriously putting other optometrist to shame. There is a level of customer service that he provides that just isn't common everywhere. He doesn't make you feel like another customer, he makes you feel like family. The quality of his practice is just above and beyond what I have received from other optometrists. For example: I have an astigmatism, my vision just isn't very clear if I don't have specific astigmatism contacts in one eye. At kaiser, I told the dr that my vision was still blurry, he insisted that I had these specific contacts that didn't have my size astigmatism. I told him I would rather see clear with a different pair but he sent me on my way with blurry vision. Flash forward to my most recent appointment with Dr Lee at prime eye care, he listened to my concern, gave me an option of different contact brands that I could use, let me try two different ones in office and even ordered me trials of other brands for me to try so I can find something that works. He makes follow up appointments to make sure everything works. I have called with questions and he's always available. He's just awesome. His office staff is always nice as well. Never makes you feel pressured to buy or anything like that. I could go to Kaiser and get my visit and stuff covered but I literally drove over an hour away and paid out of pocket because Dr. Lee is just worth it. He also takes care of my daughter and she praises him every time we see him. read more
