At first walk in you're greeted with a warm welcoming kindness. Josh was our barber. He listened to what my son wanted, delivered and made sure he was comfortable throughout his experience. The eclectic vibe from the respect and laughter amongst colleagues to nostalgic music fills the space. This barbershop is very clean and a well organized shop. We've returned for a second time and experienced the consistency as the first visit. We most def. will be returning again. I feel this place brings the old school ambiance with a modern twist that is well set in place for all ages of different backgrounds to enjoy. I got my hair cut by Reemon today and wow. It was definitely an experience. That dude definitely knows his way around the clippers. It's a new barber for me and I didn't feel at ease no matter how many people recommended him. However, my discomfort left after he finished the left side of my fade. It looked immaculate. I had been letting this little old lady named Ramona cut my hair for the last 5 years, but her hands were getting as shaky as Michael J. Fox trying to do sign language and that wasn't gonna fly. I asked my buddy where he got cut, since he gets cut twice a week, and he told me about In The Zone. After looking in mirror after my cut, OJ ensured that I would not be going back to Ramona ever again. They aren't afraid to take the time to do the job right, unlike the chain places which are all about getting the next person in the seat. The conversations are hilarious too. If you are a football guy, this is your place. Just make sure that if you see an Asian dude with glasses getting his hair cut that you don't talk shit about the Raiders. I been coming to this shop since I was 15, I'm 24 now. I haven't been getting my regular taper fade since I've been growing out my hair, but every now and then I stop by the shop to hang out cuz they're real cool guys. Turns out I went to high school and even had a French class with one of the barbers there now who happens to be the owners (Kelvin) brother. These guys make you feel at home and like family regardless of your skin tone lol. I know of many guys who've been intimidated to come to a "black" barbershop but really, it doesn't matter. Aside from the fun atmosphere, they do a great job at cutting and styling hair. They have a pool table and tv to kill time while you're waiting for a chair. I say make the appointment so you don't have to wait. Also, be sure to mind your words in the shop, Kels doesn't like foul talk especially when there are young ones running around. I think that's cool. Thanks Kels and Rich for all the years of great service and cuts. You've got in me, a customer for life. read more

it's hard finding a good barber, I had a barber that cut my hair every month from 1997-2000. One day I found out he retired and wasn't cutting hair anymore. So from 2000-2006 I cut my own hair until I found this little barbershop in Granada Hills. I haven't gone anywhere else since. Try to make an appointment if you plan on going in the afternoon. It gets really busy on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Sometimes it so busy your hair cut gets rushed and little mistakes can be noticed. They are closed on Sunday and Monday's. Rich and OJ do a really great job. I'm not sure about the other two barbers because I haven't had them cut my hair. I'm not sure if Kelvin still cuts hair because the last time I went his barber chair was gone. It's a great place for laughs, opinions on sports and stories and lessons about life. I love this place, they are consistent and have reasonable prices. Best barbershop in the San Fernando Valley! edit: I've gotten a haircut from each and every barber since my last review and all of them do a great job. Definitely can't find a better spot to get your hair cut in the valley or north of valley. Barbers are cool peoples and professional. This is an appointment only spot so don't have to worry about somebody jumping in front of you. They get you in and out. Customers are diverse and family friendly.
