I thought about this review before posting for a while. Only because I know that other than this one experience I've actually had satisfactory experiences beforehand. I've decided not to name the barber, but I will say he is always there and usually will open the shop. He in the past had cut my hair, nothing outstanding but for the price and time I'd say it was something I could make peace with. On this particular day, this barber did not listen to what I was trying to describe to him on how I wanted my hair. This was important to me because I had engagement photos after this. Long story short, the 1st pass of the clippers already made it clear he either did not understand or listen. He seemed upset when I called him out, but I was in such shock that I left going else where to have hair fixed. I went back weeks later after hair had grown out fully expecting this same barber to be there and ready to leave the experience in the past. He immediately stated snarky comments before me sitting in his chair about how I needed to be clearer on what I wanted. The tone and the choice in words were enough for me to interpret he was still in a negative emotional space and I could not trust him anymore with my hair. I turned around and left. My occupation not only has me managing coworkers but patient experiences as well. One of my top rules is don't let emotion get the best of you and dictate your behavior. Not a huge deal. There's shops all over the area that I'm sure I'll find a great barber with a competitor. read more

Went in at about 525 and I was out at 540 . It felt like the shortest haircut ever and the lady really rushed it. Probably going to get some jokes about my haircut from coworkers tomorrow . 33$ for a sub 15 minute haircut they barely touch the clippers . read more

In all honesty I never come on here to Bih but I swear if and when I do its for a reason.. I've been familiar with this area for 15+ years and its a great area. don't get me wrong I'm not trying to talk shi about this spot some people cut good hair here. & some people don't give a fuck it feels like.. i literally just got my hair cut from here and word of advice.. DONT EVER LET THE LADY THAT WORKS HERE CUT YOUR HAIR IF YOU EVEN REMOTELY CARE WHAT HAIR LOOK LIKE. this lady will all the way f your hair up and nonchalantly be cool with it. and this is my fault I knew this sitting in that chair from years before I remembered that she will fuck up your hair. you can even tell her to try your best and give me a good hair cut with all the hair in the world and she will be lazy asf with the most simple instructions and still f it up. its kinda crazy.. read more

Not a great experience. Guy left my hair longer on the left side then the right. Went back and he was no longer there so a lady 'cleaned' it up. She just cut it at a zero and called it a day. One side of my hair is a zero and the other a one or two. Won't go back. I apologize but there no skill in the haircut I received. read more

Do not recommend coming here, very unsanitary. The women that cut my hair used a regular Gillette razor and when I asked if it was a new razor she had shown me the pack of razor blades and it was the first razor blade in the pack and I'm sure I wasn't the first haircut of the day. And when a barber is told to do a razor haircut they are not to use a regular shaving razor but a barbers razor, very unprofessional and diseases and covid can be transmitted this way. Gonna be super straight forward because I've been going here since I was in high school. There's about 3 good barbers here the others not so much. I don't understand why when I ask for a medium fade I get a ridiculous high fade, actually I don't get a fade to begin with. I've never had a problem with haircuts here up until the last two times I went, which was about month. When I tell a specific barber (I don't know his name )that the fade is uneven and too high , he gives an attitude and says he hasn't finished the fade... I knew the fade was messed up to begin with. I have a semi high fade on the right side of my head and particularly no fade in the left side. Being in the military I got fades every week and this is NOT a fade ! This place is cash only. I got my hair cut by the lady and she gave me one of the cleanest fade I've ever had in my life. Don't sleep on her... give her a try. Regular haircut is $16 which is rare now a days, everywhere else charges anywhere form $25-$35 per haircut. My boyfriend lived down the street, and will only go to Melito's for his hair cuts. He loves them and the price is great. It's cash only, but that's rarely an issue. He moved to San Diego where we both live, and still only swears by Melito's prices and haircuts. Every time we return home to visit his family, he has to stop by and get his hair cut. Great place and great service. This place is also the only barber shop that will ALWAYS use the straight razor on my boyfriend. We came here on Labor Day and the place didn't disappoint. The price of $16 (cash only) is unbeatable!!! The best price in town!!! We've tried Floyd's, Supercuts and various barber shops. Best cheap haircut! Old school type barbershop . Hispanic owners and literally the best cheap haircut my boyfriend ever had. Better than Supercuts and sportsclips by far. BF showed Melito a picture of the hair he wanted and everything was just fine. No translation or confusion issues. Not sure why there is a bad review on here regarding that issue. We walked in and there were a lot of people waiting but it didn't take too long for my BF to get his cut. My hubby has been going to the same barber shop for about 10yrs but recently the guy that used to cut his hair had some personal issue and couldn't work anymore. So hubby had to find somebody else. He is very picky on the way he likes his hair done and his head shape makes it hard just to use a hair clipper. So the barber needs to really know how to use different techniques so that his haircut looks nice and even. Well, he tried a couple places and none of them worked until he went to Melito's barber shop. The people there were nice and they took their time to do the job nice.
