The place is very clean and the instructors are nice. That said, if you're looking for your child to make meaningful progress, there are better options. At Goldfish, they say the classes are 30 min but really they're about 25 (students are released 5 min early to get the next class in). That very short 25 minutes is often distributed amongst 4 kids, resulting in about 6 min of instruction per student per week or less than 30 min of actual instruction per month. read more

Instructors are great although there's a lot of turnover, which makes for an inconsistent experience. My main issue though is that they foster a culture of inconsiderate parents that only care about themselves. My son nearly had an accident on the floor waiting for a bathroom, all bathrooms were occupied with selfish parents using them as change rooms because they couldn't be bothered to wait in line. There needs to be better enforcement from employees to prevent parents from doing things like this, a 4 year old can't hold his bladder for 10 minutes while someone is getting changed. read more

We've been coming for half a year now and the facility is great! The shower stalls are very clean in comparison to the local pools in the area. My son prefers goldfish over other pools yes been at. Right now he is taking lessons from Vieira and she's very detailed and highly recommend her as an instructor. read more

Facility is new and nice, I'll give them that. The teachers follow a specific curriculum, that provides super slow progress with time ( basically if you are hoping for your kid to learn how to swim take them somewhere else, if you want them to splash around bring them here). Now the admin is horrible. They just plain threat you with kicking ur kid out all the time without previous warning. Once you complain over their attitude, they start making up stories about you and your kid and basically end your membership. Nothing was brought up to anyone's attention. In fact their manager came running mistaking us for another family regarding the shower. My kiddos loved coming here. Facility is clean and staff is friendly and responsive. It is everything I want in a swim class except I really can't give it a 5 star for the quality of lessons offered. I have 2 kids, 1 in glider one and another in glider 3. If your child is a toddler just learning to get comfortable in the water, then they will like it. If you want your child to actually learn how to swim, it will take them a VERY long time. Having 3-4 kids for 30 mins they won't really learn much. It's not worth the $45+ a lesson in my opinion. Just bring your child to a community pool and teach them yourself. I taught my son to swim in 1 summer and enrolled him in glider 3 to improve his form. I do see improvement in him. I had to unenroll them after they advanced levels and they don't have enough classes to chose from that fit our family schedule and have 2 of them together. If you've had your child at arena sports swim classes in the past, then you'll notice it's very similar. The instructors just follow the instruction cards provided, and make the kids follow each step. Most/almost all instructors I think are high school/college kids working a part time job so instructors are always changing. read more

I was reviewing another institution and noticed a couple of bad reviews for this place. I wanted to make sure my grandson learned how to swim at an early age because of the scary drowning stories parents hear about. We tried another place before Goldfish and it was run by adults- it was not worth it. There was no curriculum in place. I called the corporate office to complain about it and the only change made was a new teacher, same issue. Goldfish has been wonderful so far. Yes the teacher is young but 30 minutes of structured training vs someone just 'winging it' really helps with my grandson's progress. Our experience at the Bellevue location was not great and any better from our experience at the Redmond location. I was super excited because this location was next to my house. We started off in Redmond for two months prior to moving to this location. We've spent a total of four months at the goldfish locations in Bellevue and Redmond(same owners). Maddie is extremely unprofessional and rude. High turnover across teachers and poor customer experience. Great place to get your child into the water. Not great if you actually want your child to learn how to swim. Lessons have been useless and no progress made for our family or other families in the group. Many families have left including mine. You are paying about $40 for 6minutes of lessons(25mins/4students). read more

The facilities are very nice. There are private shower rooms, hair dryers, etc. However there is much room for improvement for the actual swim lessons. I highly doubt my kids will actually learn how to swim here. This is more just getting them comfortable with water. The entire place seems to only have young and very green employees. The swim instructors all seem like they are early 20s and rarely do I see management present. This is fine, but my biggest gripe is the instructors can vary greatly in their swim lessons. The last lesson I took my kids to, their instructor kept turning back and looking at the time. Then proceeded to play what seemed to me on the other side of the glass "head shoulders knees and toes" with the kids for the last TEN MINUTES of a 30 minute class. No swimming at all. I can understand if they play these games to make the children comfortable, but no one was on the verge of a meltdown. All the kids in the class have been going for months already. I was extremely disappointed. For their price point, I expect the focus to be on swimming. Some instructors walk the line between "fun" and actually teaching the children skills on how to swim. read more
