A very honest review for infant swim lessons (infant to 18 months). Pros: I think goldfish swim academy is a wonderful place, specifically for older children** It's very clean, the instructors are great, and the cost is very fair. There are many different options to schedule your weekly lessons. Cons: I do not think this is a great place for infants and ISR survival swimming. The group lesson is basically the same every single week. There is no change in skills. It's a parent/child lesson, so you as the parent (who probably has no ISR training), is in charge of teaching your child. Additionally, the babies are not taught ISR survival swimming. It's also very chaotic in the pool, my son had a hard time playing attention watching all of the other kids in their lanes swimming. Lastly, it was extremely difficult to hear our instructor because the pool area is very loud. I always had to ask her to repeat herself until I learned that every class was the same so I memorized it. Personal experience - my son started at goldfish at 13 months, and went once per week for 30 mins for 3 months. He hasn't learned much at all, other than sometimes being ok with his head going under water. Three friends of ours sent their children of the same age to a personal ISR certified instructor and by 6 weeks, all of them were independently swimming with their heads under water and turning onto their backs confidently in survival mode. I took my son of out goldfish and plan to start this instead. This new program is one single instructor with your child and teaching them breathing techniques and getting them comfortable with being uncomfortable - which is very hard for the parent to do alone. I wish we had a better experience. I initially chose goldfish even though it was 35 mins from our home, because of the rave reviews. I think for older children 3+ it could be great, but definitely not ideal for babies learning ISR. ISR requires a lot more structure and more than once a week for our little ones to truly retain muscle memory. Hope this helps anyone else in the same boat as us!

Floating on her own unprompted.

Friendly staff and great program. It may be more expensive then the city pool programs but it's more convenient and possibly more efficient. I have seen leaps and bounds of improvement in my daughter in just 3 lessons. My first daughter learned the daily city pool way. My second child is going the goldfish route. It's just so less stressful for me. I may sign her up for daily lessons to give her more opportunity to swim, but I will also stay with Goldfish once a week. Their approach is more my speed. Munchies received progress reports and (again) I have seen improvements in very little Update: after 4 lessons my 4 year old is floating on her own (in swimmies in this picture, but it's still a big deal!) Thus is a kid who didn't really like to float or put her head in the water. Now she is trying! And with our help swims with out floating and she is happy about it!

5 mos and learning how to float

We started going here since my daughter was 5 months old. Although her Pediatrician advises at 6 mos., my husband & I were so eager to have her started the lesson ASAP since most of our recreational activities are either near the water or in the water. It's up to the parents when they want to, this swim school accepts as early as 4 months. If I knew that, we would've enrolled her sooner. I've nothing but good experience from this swim school. From the trainer, facilities, management all 5 star. They follow carefully regulations, which I think is over the top sometimes, but that's how they take care of the students, that's how they do business, and thats why parents and kids love this swim school! There is no perfect business, and even though it's 20 mins drive from home, we'll stay with Goldfish until I'm confident that my daughter can survive in the water on her own.

I noticed this swim school being built a few months ago when I brought my son to monkey Joe's. It is in the same shopping plaza as monkey Joe's, dollar general, and Broadway's pizza. I took my son for his second lesson today at Goldfish swim school. They had their grand opening this week and are still working out their kinks, but I am very happy so far with the facility and the instruction my son has received. I really love that all prices are clearly listed on their website, and that for the older kids in the toddler classes and up the parent doesn't have to go in the water. This facility also does parties on the weekends, and has family swim time on Friday afternoons (5$ per person, not to exceed 15$ for the whole family). When we signed up for lessons they gave us two free family passes which is great.

Where they teach the little ones to swim. The pool is of good temperature. It has many floating .. it has a good height. The facilities are in good condition. Offers hair washing services when you leave the pool.

Ask the Community - Goldfish Swim School

I'm confused about the group programs. Is it 4 classes for $145? With the registration fee?

Hello! Our group lessons are $30 per lesson charged on a monthly basis. Depending on when your lesson is, there may be a month where you have 5 lessons in 1 month rather than 4. There is also an annual membership fee of $25. If you have any… Read more

I was a little concerned in the beginning about how much he would learn, after all he was only 18 months. I can tell you from first hand experience it is an AMAZING program. The first summer he did 6 weeks of lessons. By the end of six weeks he could swim the short way across a pool. After 5 weeks of lessons he fell:jumped into a friends pool with no adults in the pool (this scared me to death!). He made it to the side of the pool quicker than I could get in to save him. That sold me on the program. I grew up as a competitive swimmer, it amazes me how far he has come in 4 years. He has learned all the strokes, has learned a love for the pool (most days we can't get him out), and can't wait to grow more as a swimmer. This melts my heart that Patriot Aquatics has fostered this love in him. Between Michelle and Caitlin, we couldn't ask for more loving teachers who really get to know their students and work on the skills they each need independently. My oldest has flourished so well in their program we now have our 21 month old in the program too. I can't wait to see how he grows as a swimmer this summer!

Great experience! Although I had no motorcycle riding experience, my first day of class with Nathan…read moreand Cici was challenging. I faced difficulties with the exercises and willingly opted to restart on day one to address my shortcomings in completing specific objectives. On round two of day one, I was more confident handling the motorcycle. It was beneficial to have Nathan and Cici again, as they were familiar with my challenges and provided tailored coaching for improvement. Progressing to day two, I achieved many objectives for what Nathan aptly called the "Talent Show." (Skills Test) I now feel confident and capable of safely operating the motorcycle. A positive aspect is that retaking the class is free. So, putting aside ego and pride and approaching the experience with a smile and a willingness to learn can lead to a fantastic outcome. The key is to focus on building solid foundations to comprehend the hazards of the road and effectively navigate emergencies. This positive learning experience took place in Melbourne, FL. Definitely, going to take the advanced courses or do days one and two to hone my skills more.

I took the course at the north Orlando location with Dave and Ralph. About 10 or so students. All…read moremales except myself and 1 other female. Majority have been riding and just needed their license. Except myself, the other female and 1 guy. The guy with no motorcycle experience did not return on day 2, I don't know why. The other female in the course was there as a repeat for the driving portion and she did not stay to complete the driving test on day 2. If you have no motorcycle experience this class is not for you. It's a lot to learn in 2 days and the class moves quickly. You get a few rotations on each skill and then your on to the next regardless if you know what you are doing or not. I did not feel things were explained clearly. For example my instructor kept telling me to increase my speed to at least 15 mph but the speedometer doesn't work. As a new rider with no experience I don't know what that looks or feels like. When I asked my instructor how will I know if I'm doing at least 15 mph without a speedometer I was told that if he's signaling me to go faster than I'm not at 15. (Remember this because it will come up again in my story). Same thing with shifting gears on the bike. I've never driven a manual vehicle. When I asked my instructor how do I know when I need to shift gears I was told to listen to my bike. Again I'm a new rider with no experience what am I listening for? Dave is unprofessional and has no patience. On the 1st day not even 4 hrs into the class of never riding a bike he yells at me after I do a skill incorrectly and tells me that I should not bother with a motorcycle. He raised his voice at everyone. It was alot to learn on the 1st day. After my 1st day of class I didn't feel like going back, I was anxious about making a mistake because I had an instructor that was yelling the whole time. The overall lack of explanation on key skills needed to pass for example mph and gear shift. And the quick progression of the course. I called the school after my 1st day and I spoke to Susie and I explained to her my frustrations. She was kind and listened to my concerns. She apologized for the lack of explanations and Dave's behavior. I felt more at ease after speaking to her and decided I would attend day 2. Day 2, Dave was patient and talked to me instead of yelling at me. I felt there were small jokes made by Ralph about people taking offense to certain things or getting their feelings hurt or being soft. I tuned them out because I didn't know if he was talking about me but just seemed odd because I could definitely tell they were told about my complaints. By mid day Ralph had said to me and the other female in the class that we would more than likely need to take the course again because we were not meeting the speed requirement for the test. Which I didn't think was appropriate because you already have it in your mind that you are going to fail us. But, whatever I still went through and tried my best. I think the other female in the course was affected by this she ended up dropping her bike twice after and decided to quit. This was her second time taking this course at this location. During the driving test I made it through all the skills not at 100% but I stayed in all the lines and boxes, I had to walk out the u-turn but I didn't stall my bike, I didn't get through all the zig zag cones but I did most. I also was at the speed needed for my quick stop. In the test they measure your speed but during practice they just eyeball it. Funny, because for 2 days I was being told I was going too slow. All the guys in the class were supportive. They all swore I passed, but I was told I failed. I was surprised that I had failed because I felt I did decent for only being on a motorcycle for maybe a total of 8 hrs in 2 days. The instructor had made up his mind mid day that I was going to retake the course regardless if it was for speed or not. The expectation that you will do everything at 100% as a new rider is unrealistic. Save your $ and time. Do not take this class until you are ready for the exam.
