My nephew had been going here since he was 4 months old. He absolutely loves the water and is obsessed with Bubbles the goldfish. The staff are absolutely amazing! Today was the pirates and princess party and he came dressed up and had a blast. Kassidie helped us make a boat for him and after she found out how much my nephew loved Bubbles she pulled some strings to have him make an appearance. :) Kassidie and the rest of the staff were so wondeful! A very honest review for infant swim lessons (infant to 18 months). Pros: I think goldfish swim academy is a wonderful place, specifically for older children** It's very clean, the instructors are great, and the cost is very fair. There are many different options to schedule your weekly lessons. Cons: I do not think this is a great place for infants and ISR survival swimming. The group lesson is basically the same every single week. There is no change in skills. It's a parent/child lesson, so you as the parent (who probably has no ISR training), is in charge of teaching your child. Additionally, the babies are not taught ISR survival swimming. It's also very chaotic in the pool, my son had a hard time playing attention watching all of the other kids in their lanes swimming. Lastly, it was extremely difficult to hear our instructor because the pool area is very loud. I always had to ask her to repeat herself until I learned that every class was the same so I memorized it. Personal experience - my son started at goldfish at 13 months, and went once per week for 30 mins for 3 months. He hasn't learned much at all, other than sometimes being ok with his head going under water. Three friends of ours sent their children of the same age to a personal ISR certified instructor and by 6 weeks, all of them were independently swimming with their heads under water and turning onto their backs confidently in survival mode. I took my son of out goldfish and plan to start this instead. This new program is one single instructor with your child and teaching them breathing techniques and getting them comfortable with being uncomfortable - which is very hard for the parent to do alone. I wish we had a better experience. I initially chose goldfish even though it was 35 mins from our home, because of the rave reviews. I think for older children 3+ it could be great, but definitely not ideal for babies learning ISR. ISR requires a lot more structure and more than once a week for our little ones to truly retain muscle memory. Hope this helps anyone else in the same boat as us! read more

Friendly staff and great program. It may be more expensive then the city pool programs but it's more convenient and possibly more efficient. I have seen leaps and bounds of improvement in my daughter in just 3 lessons. My first daughter learned the daily city pool way. My second child is going the goldfish route. It's just so less stressful for me. I may sign her up for daily lessons to give her more opportunity to swim, but I will also stay with Goldfish once a week. Their approach is more my speed. Munchies received progress reports and (again) I have seen improvements in very little Update: after 4 lessons my 4 year old is floating on her own (in swimmies in this picture, but it's still a big deal!) I honestly love Goldfish. I have signed up my kids twice for lessons here but ultimately have chose that this facility is just not a good fit for us for a few reasons. But please keep in mind that this facility is ran very well. They have a great system (especially if you use their app for absences, etc) and they keep the place very clean and organized. I appreciate that there are showers, blow dryers, changing rooms, etc. However, there are some things that just didn't meet the needs of my son (who is pretty nervous about swimming). The instructors are great but because there are so many lessons going on at once it is quite hard to hear them. They are also now wearing these plastic face shields in addition to the noise it's almost impossible to hear instructions. I know this first hand because I did parent/child lessons with my youngest (who is 2) and I always had to ask for things to be repeated. For my oldest (5) who is deathly afraid to swim I can see how this could add to his anxiety. Plus, as someone had mentioned before... you're in a class with a couple other kids so about half of the lesson is spent on the side of the pool waiting for your turn. The lessons aren't cheap either. I think we had to weight all these things when it was time to make a decision to move on. I know every kid is different but I feel my kids will best excel with one-on-one instruction or at least somewhere without such an echo. Otherwise, I will miss the heated pool and the friendly staff. I just have to do what is best for my kid. read more

We started going here since my daughter was 5 months old. Although her Pediatrician advises at 6 mos., my husband & I were so eager to have her started the lesson ASAP since most of our recreational activities are either near the water or in the water. It's up to the parents when they want to, this swim school accepts as early as 4 months. If I knew that, we would've enrolled her sooner. I've nothing but good experience from this swim school. From the trainer, facilities, management all 5 star. They follow carefully regulations, which I think is over the top sometimes, but that's how they take care of the students, that's how they do business, and thats why parents and kids love this swim school! There is no perfect business, and even though it's 20 mins drive from home, we'll stay with Goldfish until I'm confident that my daughter can survive in the water on her own. read more

We absolutely love this place. The facility is bright and very clean with lots of amenities including showers, a blow dry bar, books and toys while the kids wait, Bumbo seats, etc. We were relieved to find a place that offered a program more flexible than the average out there-- and way more affordable. I was also glad to find a class that didn't require parents to get in the pool with the kids (although for the younger kids I believe that is a requirement). The staff is always super friendly/helpful with smiles on their faces. Mr. Juan has been our daughter's instructor every time and he is honestly the best part of Goldfish for us. He is so patient and sweet with our very busy 3 year old, even though she is not the most focused student. She and we completely adore him. read more

Goldfish it's an amazing swim school. My son has been going almost a year and has gone from mommy and me classes to now independent junior 3 classes. He is progressing so well and loves going to his swim class. Now after the COVID-19 pandemic, the school closed for the safety of the employees and children. And they have reopened. Even in this uncertain time, Goldfish has gone above and beyond to assure the safety of the children. With strict precautions for all employees, parents and children. This school is unfortunately all about the money. The classes are 20 minutes at best by the time you get in the pool and then you get your child 5 minutes early to "hear how they did." The classes are overfilled to the point they're ineffective. Each student may get 3-5 minutes tops in the water, a week. Which means in nearly 2 months our kids have have water poured on their heads, been taught to kick (which they already knew as much), and literally have made no progress. When you try to speak to someone about it/cancel they're totally ok with it because they're just going to fill your spot with someone else. Super disappointing because the facility is nice and I had high hopes, but how classes are designed it is purely to keep you coming back and not really teach your kids how to swim, unless it's over the course of years and you pay thousands of dollars. read more

I noticed this swim school being built a few months ago when I brought my son to monkey Joe's. It is in the same shopping plaza as monkey Joe's, dollar general, and Broadway's pizza. I took my son for his second lesson today at Goldfish swim school. They had their grand opening this week and are still working out their kinks, but I am very happy so far with the facility and the instruction my son has received. I really love that all prices are clearly listed on their website, and that for the older kids in the toddler classes and up the parent doesn't have to go in the water. This facility also does parties on the weekends, and has family swim time on Friday afternoons (5$ per person, not to exceed 15$ for the whole family). When we signed up for lessons they gave us two free family passes which is great. read more

I was very impressed with EVERYTHING at Goldfish Swim School. From the moment you walk in service is top notch. We were greeted right away , given a tour, all questions answered with a smile. The lobby has chairs for parent to sit and watch theirs kids and brightly colored dressing room and very clean bathrooms and drying area. The pool area has 2 life guards on duty and all the swim instructors are lifeguards as well. All very friendly and attentive. I was concerned with so many people and kids it would be chaotic. But it is so well organized and well run my kids got all the attention they needed and a great class. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. Overpriced, overcrowded, not effective and unfriendly customer service policies. If you are just looking for something to cover your parent guilt and say: "I took my kiddo to swim lessons" this place is ok. But if you are determined to teach your child actual swimming techniques and expect them to have a decent practice/workout - this place is not the right one for you. My kid was in swimming for 2-3 min out of 30 min I paid for. The rest of the time they are just soaking in a not so clean water loaded with chlorine to the point that your eyes hurt when you are breathing next to it. Plus, they have an awful policy of giving 30 days notice before leaving. So even if you hated the place , you will still end up paying for the whole month of worthless classes. read more

We just had our trial lesson and I am so very pleased. Walking into the swim school is like walking into a vacation, it's so very festive. Everyone we met today was in a fabulous mood, I'm wondering what was in the glade plug ins ;-). The lesson was 30 minutes and my son loved every second of it. His instructor, coach Carmen, was caring and attentive and my son had a smile plastered on his face the entire time. While my son was swimming, I glanced around at other children with their coaches and everyone was smiling and happy and all the coaches seemed sweet and caring. We've been to swimming lessons before elsewhere and ever had a bad time but this place just felt 100 times more welcoming. After our trial lesson I signed my son up for two months and we're both very excited to come back. I would absolutely recommend this place, especially if you have a hesitant swimmer, I bet these coaches will have them loving the water in no time. read more

If you're looking for an honest and fair review, please read. PROS: * This facility is so clean! Especially with the extra precautions that they're taking with COVID-19, I was extremely impressed. Indoor pools can be icky & this place is immaculate. * I love how the parents sit on the other side of the glass wall! This made it impossible for a fussy toddler to come running to momma!!! It's just them and the instructors, but parents can still watch from the other side of the glass. Brilliant idea. * The staff is extremely warm and friendly. My child loved her teacher & warmed up very quickly to her, despite being shy and 3 years old. That says something! CONS: * I wish my child spent more time in the water (rather on the edge of the pool) within the 30 minute lesson. In the Junior 1 class, my child was with two other students and they took turns practicing the skills (one child at a time). I knew she would be with other kids, but I didn't realize she would only be *in* the water for about a third of the lesson. * With that being said, an argument could be made that she "was" in the water (her feet) & was engaged watching the other students practice those skills while waiting for her own turn. But, the fact of the matter is that she's 3... At that age, it's hard to be "engaged" and watching and learning from the other students in the class. (I'm an elementary school teacher myself, so I can see when students are engaged or not haha). * Class is only once a week. After this experience, I think I prefer swim lessons more consecutively/more days of the week. That is the key to retention! So, all that being said - $86 is a lot of money for 4 lessons a month when the student is only *literally* in the water for a third of the lesson. I have since withdrawn and will look for lessons elsewhere, but I appreciate all that Goldfish Swim School did and the facility they provide for their customers. read more

The instructors are very engaging and patient with my busy little girl, customer service and management always makes us feel welcome and a priority, and facility is well stocked and designed perfectly to accommodate parents with multiple children in tow. I absolutely am NOT a fan. I am looking to trust the safety of my 4 year old with a school that does NOT return phone calls or have the ability to follow up and communicate at all. Registered on a Tuesday, after I called for information and a staff member told me I had to do everything on line (including getting information). The on-line process completed, it said I would hear from a staff member soon. I called back Wednesday afternoon and was told I need to speak with a manager and they would call me back. Again - no call back, so I called Thursday afternoon and again was told a manager would call me back. No return call again, so I called Friday afternoon and guess what I was told - yup - a manager would call me back. Again - no call back. Repeat process until the following week and still no return call. Wow! Amazing to me that they can function as a business. Great experience with Little Aquatics fortunately! read more

The facility is definitely pretty and clean! The lessons are designed for slow progression over a longer period of time. In my child's class there were 4 children to 1 instructor for a 30 min. session once a week. With only one child working at any given time (they take turns) that breaks down to only 7.5 min. of actual instruction per week. In addition each child has to run through all class skills regardless of showing competence with any of them. So for example if a child needs instruction for skill #10, then they still need to spend time on skills 1-9 before getting to 10, using up most of their 7.5 min. before practicing what they need one or two times. Also, I found that they have a one size fits all level of instruction. My child has very muscular legs due to years of karate and they didn't know how to adapt for that. I was told "any child can float if they just put their head back and stick out their chest". I have since found an awesome swim school where the instructors have 20-30 years experience. They had my child floating on her first lesson by showing her how to adjust for the weight of her legs! read more
