Goldie's Bagels is outstanding. It truly is a traditional Jewish bagel shop. I'm kind of jealous, that a college town in the middle of Missouri has such a topnotch shop. I wish I had one near my home. It was interesting to find out, their bagel oven was bought from a NYC bagel shop going out of business, so they are very authentic. They're not NYC bagels, they're a Midwest bagel, which makes them unique. I could have gone with any of their traditional bagels, but being at Goldie's for my first time, I decided to try their, "Goldie's Bagel". It has turmeric in their dou sourdough and it's rolled in black sesame seeds. It was a bit earthy in taste, but went well with a classic smear of cream cheese. I had it toasted and the extra crunchiness, added to the experience. My cup of coffee was dark and delicious. I liked that next to the coffee, they had two options to help you hydrate. You can have, water or seltzer. There are times, I want a little bubbly in my water. Staff is super friendly and professional. When I was ordering, I told them it was my first and when I asked what a Goldie's bagel was, the young lady took the time to explain it to me and encouraged me to give it a try. Just so you know, Goldie's and Pizza Tree are partners. They are owned by the same amazing couple.

I was visiting Columbia for a wedding and was told to go get a bagel at Goldie's. I arrived at around 9 to a moderately long line...I took this as a good sign. The Yenta is essentially a bagel with lox and cream cheese. I asked for them to hold the cucumber. I ordered a poppy seed bagel toasted. The bagel was pretty darn good. Not too hard, but also not too fluffy. It was nicely toasted, as requested. It had a lot of cream cheese on it, I should have asked for a little less, but that's ok, better than too little cream cheese. The capers, onions, and dill were nice. The lox was fine but I do think it was a little skimpy on the lox. Don't get me wrong, overall it was very good and I would go back. The only thing they actually need help with is their Yiddish!! If you're in Columbia go to Goldie's!

Yenta on an everything bagel w/ scallion cream cheese, add lox. Side of turkey sausage and eggs.

The bagel was good... nothing to write home about, but I don't mind putting it in black & white for Yelp. :) The woman at the counter was engaged in trivial conversation with a coworker when I arrived. She saw me, but stood in front of me continuing her conversation & not acknowledging my presence until she was done chatting. It was off putting, but she was nice once she decided she was ready to take my order. I asked for Yenta & the maple turkey sausage (not on the menu, but advertised in a a sign on the counter). I noted that a side of eggs would be nice, but I didn't see an option on the menu for that. The woman graciously added a side of eggs anyway, but scrambled was the only option. The seating is scarce, but I found a stool, facing the wall & waited there. There wasn't much to say for ambiance. It got pretty crowded at some point after I received my order. The food was deliver to my seat, & everything looked delicious. However, as I said previously... it was mostly just okay. The eggs were great. I don't normally love scrambled eggs, but I was happy. The bagel wasn't especially flavorful, but it scratched the itch. I love capers anyway I can get them! The sausage, though, was dry and not very good. I suspect they may have given me the regular sausage & not the special advertised version. But I didn't eat it. Overall, I probably won't stop there again.

In town for a softball camp for my daughter and ducked out for a minute for some breakfast. Craving a bagel and found Goldie's Bagels. It's a small Jewish deli, bakery shop and it hit the spot! The venue is on small side, but cozy and does have a few tables for in place dining. Service was quick and courteous- and the food was spot on. My lox and cream cheese bagel was fresh and tasty. Red onions were just enough and thinly sliced which made them just right in terms of the melding of flavors. I also have to say the raspberry rugelach is one of the best I have ever had! Flavor was spot on, crust was delicious, it had just the right amount of raspberry. Yummm!!' It is a bit pricey but was worth it for the quality.

Their everything bagels are literally the best bagels I've ever had!!!!!!!

Everything bagels are literally the best I've ever had. People behind the counter are really nice and actually listen to your order. This bagel shop is the most inviting shop I've been too. It gives rainy day vibes in there.

Wonderful spot while in COMO! Goldie's has a great variety of bagels and other breakfast options. I tried their seasonal summer special - everything bagel sandwich with herb cream cheese and heirloom tomatoes. It was so fresh, delicious, and super high quality.

Goldie's bagels is a must go for anyone in Columbia. It is by far the best bagel in town and the atmosphere is very cute. You will likely have to wait if you go on the weekends, but it is well worth it. I just discovered their pastrami egg and cheese and I always order it on a tzitzel bagel. It may have been the single greatest tasting item I have ever eaten. My girlfriend always gets a blueberry bagel with plain cream cheese and boy does she get her moneys worth with the cream cheese!

Goldie's bagel, everything bagel, poppyseed bagel

This bagel shop on mizzou's campus is a perfect lunch spot! Their bagels were so fresh and had a nice crusty outside with a soft inside. I had the Goldie's bagel and it is a nice unique flavor, different from my usual everything bagel. The cream cheese tastes good too and they put my schmear on for me which was so kind of them. They brought my bagel to my table which was so cool for a bagel place!

Everything bagel with lox, veggies and scallion cream cheese

Exceptional service and bagels! First, the line went VERY quickly as bagel toppings are packaged individually and distributed in little to go cups - the perfect setup! The everything bagel with lox, scallion cream cheese and veggies did not disappoint. Also ordered a delicious chocolate babka. As an east coast native I was surprised to find such an authentic Jewish bagel shop and bakery in Columbia, MO. Goldie's is the real deal!

    Yenta with lox

OMG so good and so fresh! Lol I love this place. I've only had take out so far but the bagels are so doughy and taste amazing. - Yenta with lox (5/5): incredible. So good, bursting with flavor. The dill is an amazing touch. And as always the capers and onion are a great pairing with the lox. Definitely a must try!

    Everything bagel with Lox

Growing up in Philadelphia I was always able to get great bagels and lox or whitefish. Who would have thought that in the middle of Columbia Missouri in the middle of the state that's in the middle of the country there would be an amazing bagel shop. The lox on an everything bagel was everything I remembered it to be. The bagels have a great bite and tear to them. They are not soft and chewy like other bagels out here. They have some pastries but I didn't try them. Next time I will for sure be trying the challah French toast!!

I'm soooo glad Goldies opened last year, we needed the perfect bagel place in Como & they are doing such a good job!!!! They don't take online orders, you just show up & order at the counter. I recommend going earlier rather than later because the bagels are gone, they're gone for the day. Goldie's Bagels are super soft on the inside and kinda crunchy on the outside. Today I got a tzitzel bagel with their vegan cream cheese, but I've also had their scallion cream cheese, and everything bagel. The best is the scallion cream cheese, I'm not a huge fan of the vegan one. They also have challah on certain days and pastries to choose from too. Best bagels ever!

Best bagels in Columbia! I have tried several times and they all my taste. I love them so much:)

Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.

Besides my family-in-law's cooking this was the highlight of our Missouri culinary experience…read more After a 3 hour flight it was a three hour drive to our destination. About 2 hours in we see signs on highway 54 for "Barnyard Smokehouse". Drooling over the signs and starving my wife start calculating by the time we arrive at our destination it'll be too late to eat with family so we follow the signs. There's no offramp, just hang an instant right off the highway onto the dirt road at the barnyard. Used to clearly marked offramps I missed it and had to take a detour. Luckily in Missouri you can make u-turns on the freeway :-D The entire property is the "Central Missouri Meat & Sausage". There's a deli, market, and restaurant called "Barnyard Smokehouse". Beef and pork is locally raised and butchered on site. Walking in the door we're greeted by warm and friendly people telling us to sit wherever. The restaurant is inside the market/deli to the right. Lots of tables. To start we order some fried pickles. They're sliced thin and battered in cornmeal and served with ranch dressing which is one of the food groups in Missouri. I wish the pickles used were more sour but they tasted really good. For dinner I had their smoked brisket with Texas toast, BBQ beans and Mac-n-Cheese. My wife had the same thing but with "bacon, cheddar, and ranch potato salad" and mac-n-cheese. When it came out I was skeptical since the tri-tip came out in paper thin slices but I shouldn't have judged a pile of meat by its looks since it was fantastic. Beef was saturated with smoky goodness and due to the thin cuts it was super tender. On the table was several made in house BBQ sauces. I really enjoyed their spicy one and my wife liked the sweet one. Side dishes were great too. Due to our odd flight times we only had a tiny sandwich on the airplane so we both devoured everything on our plates. While waiting for our food I walked over to the dessert case and perused. Another standard item in Missouri are refrigerated whip creamed based "pies". We ordered the oreo cookie one. It was gut busting rich. Thick slab of dense vanilla custard topped with crushed oreos and whipped cream. Super rich and decadent. We both felt like we were going to burst after our meals but it was a great start to our vacation. When walking around the market after we saw these giant 6 to 7 foot cured meat sticks made from pork. Since we were going to a potluck in a few days we got 4 of them and at the party cut them up into bite sized pieces. These pork sticks are AMAZING. The BBQ flavor was the favorite followed by the jalapeno. They have them in more reasonable sized pieces too that are vacuum sealed. I bought some for myself and some co-workers. If you find yourself driving on Highway 54 through Fulton, MO do yourself a favor and follow the signs to this great place!!
