I haven't found a good fried chicken place in over 25 years, and when I bit into the chicken and tasted their garlic mashed potatoes I realized that I had found the next best thing to what one believes grandma's home cook meal would taste like. The side biscuit was a treat to have and went well with honey or their wonderful jam. In fact, my husband and I are certain that their biscuits and gravy for breakfast must be wonderful based on their side biscuit. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly as well. Great breakfast this morning at Ozark Mountain! Our party of 2 was ready for their biscuits and sausage gravy, one order with scrambled eggs and the other with a fruit cup. The gravy was flavorful and although we added ground pepper, it really wasn't needed! The fruit cup was full of fresh, sweet strawberries, blueberries and red/green grapes! All my previous visits, I always ordered something with their famous, "biscuits". This visit, I changed things up and ordered pancakes with a side of bacon. The pancakes were a light golden color fluffy and came with pure maple syrup. They were equally as flavorful as the biscuits. So I'd recommend them, too. The side of bacon was three crispy strips. My choice of beverage was a simple cup of black coffee. Again, a great breakfast at OMB&B. Typically I would have enjoyed one of their Mimosa's or Bloody Mary's, but since I was going to a wedding reception later with an open bar, I resisted the temptation. We have enjoyed Ozark Biscuit so much for brunch that my husband and I decided to try them for his birthday dinner. We arrived early on a Friday night and were seated immediately. My husband ordered the catfish dinner and I ordered the burger without a bun and a side salad with ranch. My husband substituted collard greens in lieu of the kale coleslaw. My burger arrived on a butter/salad plate with a dinky piece of cheese and some pickle relish, but no onion straws. My salad was a small handful of lettuce with about 1 tablespoon of ranch. The catfish was satisfactory as were the fries, but the greens were absolutely tasteless. We had one class of wine a piece which was fine. The total of my hamburger patty and salad was $24. Our total bill with tip was close to $80.00. So very disappointing and maddening. read more

We watched 4 groups that arrived after us get seated. two of them had 5 people just like us? The standard breakfast, eggs were slightly over medium, but the sausage was very tasty, one of the better sausages. The potatoes looked over but tasted great. Very crispy. Our problem was not being able to decided what to get out of all the delicious sounding options. After a few check ins from our waiter we finally ordered before we changed our minds again. You will wait, this is a popular spot in an up and coming area (thanks to Logboat Brewing). Biscuits are great, gravy has a decidedly different taste from most sausage gravy I've had (garlic?--) could not eat the gravy, but the house made sausage is excellent. Favorite was the buttermilk pecan waffles with a fried chicken breast. The waffles are a unique and creative choice on this menu. My fiancé and I stopped in here for lunch earlier this week and I had high expectations, I love breakfast food. The hostess was very sweet and impeccably dressed and our server who greeted us was cheerful. I started off with a hot buttered rum which is one of my favorites but I was brought the wrong drink on accident, a hot toddy, which isn't a big deal but our server didn't come back to the table until he brought the bill at the end of the meal and the person who did check on us, asked how things were and left before I even finished saying "pretty good", it gave the impression he expected there not to be a problem so he wasn't actually asking. It wasn't enough to be upsetting, but I absolutely hate bourbon so after trying to take a few drinks because I didn't want to waste it, I just left it untouched, it was absolutely nauseating. As for the food, I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich and some pancakes to share with my fiancé and the pancakes were good! The biscuit on the sandwich was comically big. I'm going to post a pic but the sausage and egg was SO THIN and the biscuit SO thick, it literally felt like I was choking on biscuit the whole time. I think I only ate the bottom half.
