We went in today for what they said over the phone was a 1 hour presentation, but found out was going to be a 90 minute presentation. We did not make it that far...they gave us a sheet of paper full of legal details and asked us to sign it in 3 minutes before the presentation would begin. I was about 1/3 of the way through reading it when they pressured me to sign it or leave...I said I would sign it after I read it. They asked my wife and I to leave. Did you just get some mail saying you just won a Tesla, or some other wonderful prize? Then did you google this company to see if it's too good to be true? Well, hate to burst your bubble, but it is. Here's how this company, and dozens like them, operate: They get you to call their 1-800 number to claim your prize. They just need to collect a bit of personal info first. First red flag. After telling them your phone number (which they will either sell or use to solicit directly to you), address, occupation, blood type, first born's favorite food, and color of your last stool, they will inform you that unfortunately you do not qualify for their prize. They are just trying to market to a certain demographic, and too bad, so sad, you aren't in it. BuT wAiT! Don't worry, there are some other great things that you can win, guaranteed for realsies this time guys, I swear! You just need to come to our no pressure (lol), 90 minute sales pitch. Second red flag. That's the point where I hung up. I've seen this exact game before, and usually it's a tactic to get you to buy into a time share. This time the scam seems to be some fantabulous card that will grant you amazing discounts at the top of the line 4 & 5 star hotels around the globe. Except the hotels are garbage and in flyover states, and the discounts you will actually get, if any, will be up to tens of dollars I'm sure. The meeting they are inviting you to will be anything but "no pressure to buy." just look at some of the other reviews. Please, "goldrush getaways," please stop preying on those that are susceptible to falling for your scams. You can call it a "federally insured" giveaway all you want, and I'm sure all of what you are doing is technically legal (the worst kind of legal), but it definitely isn't morally acceptable. I did not check Yelp reviews before going to the presentation --- my big mistake! Do I know that "presentation" actually is a sale pitch? --- Yes, of cause! I am mentally strong and can handle any sales pressure and tactics. We attended in the past a similar travel industry "presentation" with positive experience receiving at least one gift of cash value, the fair compensation for time spent. This time, I was hoping to get the cheapest gift - iPad Air --- I was very wrong. They are pushing a cruise and deals that you won't be taking. The "presentation": - during check-in front-desk lady asked to show a credit card --- red flag that they will pressure you to buy something. - they show offices, awards, and diplomas --- typical trick of scam artists to show that they are "legit". - initial "interview" was pleasant, but they try to profile you. I refused to disclose any financial information. - slide presentation was colorful, fun, with lots of "too good to be true" deals. - sale pitch was to buy-into the Travel Agent club at the total cost about $10,000 with promise of super large travel discounts and deals. (No live deals demo was shown == fake!). - sales people at your table will change turns trying to press you to commit and buy right away. They will show a "magic" and drop the installment payment to $1,500 :) --- another typical sales tactic. - everyone was nice with us till our final NO ("I need to think about"). The last sales lady was nasty: with angry face she brought "our wins" and showed at the nearest door --- typical "last resort" sales trick. The whole setup is a pure SCAM. This is PYRAMID scheme scam. Don't even think of spending your $! You will regret! The worst part - the "free gifts", "wins", "savings cards" they give you have no real cash value, not free, and also SCAM. (They have limited time to apply for by paying $50 deposits and taxes upfront before they even show what you are getting. Your discounts will be minimal if any and you will regret). At the end, WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF OUR TIME! We wasted over 3 hrs and $10 on gas and got nothing in return! I feel ripped off. AVOID this WASTE and SCAM! P.S.: HSC "$1,000" savings card is from Travel Marketing site that requires to share personal information before you can use it. I tried to search over 10 destinations - result retuned zero savings options each time === completely USELESS. "Free" cruise and Two night stay deals are from another Travel Marketing site CasablancaExpress. The site is asking to provide personal information on not secure website (red flag). Limitations: Sun - Wed check-in, Tourist and Economy class, 60 days advance reservation, Holidays excluded, $50 tax deposit, 90 days expiration. What a nightmare this started back in 2022 .yesterday I had enough and just canceled everything so I will not get my free trip even though I didn't think I would get it anyway. A lot of odd things and people calling me about it. It was a nightmare to book a room and then I get a call saying you better put your room you're gonna lose it. I said I already booked it. Here's my dates they say we don't show that you didn't book it with us.. so we cancel that one set up another one. It would be in the middle of August and a week ago. Got recruited from a street fair, that guy in the field was super cool dude, we've been wanting to book some fun getaway's now that our youngest is old enough to travel, called the company to let them know we were going to be 5 minutes late, and they said yes as long as you get here before 4:10 we were there ready to book thousands of dollars worth of vacations and showed up at 4:08 (40 minute drive out of our way) and got the run around and weren't allowed into the presentation because they wanted us in another time-slot (2 hours later) that come to find out is just another timeshare scam. My husband purchased a Goldrush Getaways membership before we were married. I googled it, saw mixed reviews and teased him a little about it. I thought it was just some kind of cheap time share wholesaler racket. I was wrong. Fast forward a year or two and I spent some time on the website and researched all that they had to offer and I honestly love it. You have to do some work and research all of the travel partners that they have so that you can match your travel standards. They have some low budget travel but they also offer travel opportunities with Seabourn, Silverseas, and other five star travel organizations, my family and I are really enjoying our membership. One negative thing for me is the condo corner. Most of the condos I have looked at online have average or below ratings on TripAdvisor but I am very happy with the rest of the membership. read more

Signed up with Tom at the Dixon Fair. I was charged a $ 40 " fully refundable " reservation fee to ensure my husband and I would attend. After we got home, we did some research, read the awful reviews and I texted Tom telling him we were no longer interested and would not be attending the orientation and would like our $40 reservation fee back. He said, " sure, it'll take 7-10 days for the money to be refunded". It's been 3 weeks and I haven't received a refund. Texted Tom and obviously he never had the courtesy to reply. The "travel agent" of the company they use for their promotion is a total sleezy sales person as well (I would know, I am a legitimate sales person). The presentation was slimy, slimy, slimy. I attended the presentation and was given more gifts than I even thought I had coming. I wish I could say that I know if their service is worth the investment, but I was unable to become part of the travel industry as they described (contracting to them as a travel agent and receiving the dis counted prices that travel agents receive when they book travel. I did not have the funds currently available as I am newly single. However I was given $40 cash and a $50 restaurant gift card and a cruise for two with airfare and hotel stay. I have yet to use the hotel or the cruise but the $40 cash was real and I did spend that. read more

We have been a member for about a year now and are extremely disappointed. We paid nearly $8000. for it. (Did I have a "kick me" sign on my back? If not, I do now.) We were told we'd get a great Disney Aulani vacation (Hawaii) but it required a CLIA card which was literally impossible to get before the end of the year when the promotion ended. No luck. We were told we'd get a free cruise and free hotel stay but the company that offered the service to book those never communicated despite our sending in the proper documentation and payment (yes, payment, so much for free!). Still no luck. After much complaining, we finally got Spirit Incentives to call us but they would only let us book one of the two. And we only received one deposit refund. Despite trying several times, we have yet to make one vacation work. You must have extremely flexible schedule and extensive time to research on your own. No luck at all. Their customer service is moderate at best and trying to figure out how to get the great "deals" has been like pulling teeth. You are pretty much on your own from day one. They offer some low quality training classes but when you call to ask for personal assistance, you're greeted with less than friendly staff with an attitude that goes all the way up to the president. With the exception of Melonie in the San Jose office who is golden, my experience has been they all could pretty much care less if you go on vacation or not. The standard response is that you have to sign up for all the travel email services and then read them all (hundreds weekly) to find the good deals. Since we are stuck with them for the rest of our life, I really hope they hire some folks that realize the value of customer service and some folks who realize how to provide good training, friendly processes and helpful information to a growing number of "members" who are not trained travel agents but are expected to operate like one. When and if they do, I will upgrade my review. Until then, buyer beware. UPDATE: the company has met with me and seem open and ready for changes that will ultimately result in good customer service and happy members. I look forward to seeing the results and will update my rating accordingly. UPDATE 2: Although they have had many conversations via email and they paid for half of a condo week in Hawaii as consolation, we have yet to see any real movement on programs that really assist members like us who lead busy lives and don't have unlimited amounts of time to seek out the great deals that were promised us. They have implemented more email communication but I still have no idea how to make it work for us. The emails are geared towards those who wish to be their own travel agents (which I do not want to do). Every time I have an idea for travel or wish to schedule a quick weekend away, I can't find anything from within the program to fill the dates. And, when we contact the travel "experts" in the main office, we have yet to get any real help. We asked them to find us a room in Hawaii at the beginning and end of our condo stay and the response came back as: sorry, it's a very busy season and we could not find anything for you. So I thought I'd try asking the condo group and low and behold, they were happy to extend our stay. How come the experts didn't think of that? Additionally, the plans to create a member advisory board (the only idea I felt had some promise) have completely stalled. They do seem to have the desire to make it better (or so the email communications suggest) but the proof is in the pudding and I've got no pudding. Only an $8k hole in my pocket and travel deals that look and work better on Living Social. So, I'm sorry to say, I'm putting my rating back down to one star. read more

If you're not married, make sure you have some thing that has you and your girlfriends address on it together, bring a credit card not a debit card, and make sure you make enough money to get the cruise offer. This is not a timeshare. You are buying the ability to get travel discounts on major hotels/airlines/packages, etc. So yea, it's roughly $8,000 plus $495 registration fee and $150 a year to keep the membership up. If you don't travel a lot it's not worth it at all. Me and the lady sat thru the sales presentation. Got grilled to buy it, when we didn't, we got passed to 3 other sales reps to try and force us to buy. Each time they will discount it a bit more, eventually going to a $4,000 option or a try it for a lil while option for $1,000 then use that as a credit to get the life membership, that has survivors benefits (You an give it to your kids) During the high pressure sales presentation I was bored and started googling the company. Say ton's of bad reviews. Check out google plus, yelp, complaintsboard, rip off report, yellow pages, etc. Several people mentioned that they could get better deals by purchasing the same trip thru Expedia. I mentioned that to my first "salesman" and he agreed. Before I had a chance to talk further with him, I was given a different salesman. Eventually I was passed to the manager for my last hard sell. I tried to get him to Pull up some travel packages on internet travel sites like expedia and compare them to what his company can do; but he downright refused to do it. So no idea if this company is legit or not. I didn't get my $100 gift card they promised, but did get the 3 night cruise voucher. Be advised you will have to pay $300 or so to get a bare bones no window stateroom and you will have to go thru multiple requests to get your travel date; if ever. I'm updating my review because what is happening to me really isn't the fault of Goldrush Getaways. It's the marketing company they deal with. I have since found out that I did get the week in Hawaii that was promised to me, but the email that was sent to me confirming it looked like a solicitation to buy something so I didn't call them. For the life of me I can't remember the woman's name I spoke to at Gold Rush but she made a call and the agency called me the next day and extended my coupon and gave me another chance. I will be more careful to not miss the one email they send for confirmation. The 3 day Hawaii trip is still pending but I got them to extend the coupon myself because I do want to go. We did book a week in Tahoe through Gold Rush over NYE and the woman that helped me went over and above to make sure I got what I needed. The first week I didn't get because they didn't have vacancy but another one came up and she reached out to me with an offer to rent it. She even made sure my credit card went through...I was out of town and didn't have access to email so she waited on the phone with me until I was all set. So all in all, everyone at Gold Rush were helpful to me, I am going to pay my annual renewal and see about taking two weeks in Hawaii with the free coupon week I have coming. We attended the 90 minute presentation from when we entered at a home show. We put down a $40 dollar deposit and we told we'd get that back as soon as we checked in. Actually, it was just before we left. While the presentation was well prepared, executed and stayed on time, it was almost worse than buying a car. The hard sell to close was apparent. While the travel agents may not be paid on commission, it was clear the people at the presentation are. If that's not the case, then the hard sell to purchase should stop. It was a good investment, IF we had the money. We stated several times we couldn't do it due to finances. We spoke to their finance manager, and after several attempts to get us to join, we still had to decline. I was considering this for a future date, which is an option, but the finance manager pushed a bit too hard when we declined. When she ended our conversation with, "Fine, you just showed up for the free gift" and pretty much walked off, that sealed the deal we wouldn't join; ever. Yes, they are a travel agency. Granted they get good deals. However, it wasn't free when I have to arrange a sitter for several hours, it's a 2-hour round trip commute, we spent 90 minutes watching a presentation and about another hour between the intro and the close. Of course, we knew that going in. The attitude was completely unnecessary and as a representative of the company, it wasn't the best portrayal of a professional attitude. P.S. We did receive a $100 restaurants.com card. This card allows you to print off $5-$10 off "coupons" to use at local restaurants. I tried 3 cities and I've heard of TWO of the participating restaurants. Considering we used to eat out quite a bit, I expected to know more. We just used them recently as an agency and the agent made a mistake that's causing my brother in law to have to drive an extra 2-3 hrs a day to get to and from where the rest of us will be. Luckily I had given them my work number which I rarely answer anyhow so I wasn't harassed as much as most of the other folks who entered the same drawing as I did (there are some true horror stories about Goldrush out there...). Fast forward to a few months ago, I happened across a filtered yelp review with this place's kryptonite: Email - agency@goldrushgetaways.com - and (professionally... I know you're pretty mad at them at this point but vulgarity seldom breeds respect or action) tell them to stop contacting you. Include the affected phone number. I had a response the same day, then a follow up confirming I was removed from the call list the next day. Two people there provided me with their contact information and assured me I would be removed from the call list. Shortly thereafter the calls stopped. I'm still disgusted at the scope of the marketing campaign for something I don't think anyone really wants, but at least they were good to their word and took me off the list. If I could leave zero, I would. They are a scam. They barely spoke English and had no idea who they had called. Some how they have gotten multiple phones numbers for me and keep calling. If you want a vacation to Aruba go to a legit travel site. Unless you want to to pay 4X the price. I never went for the pitch, but got the gist over the phone. read more
