This is an excellent gym. Lots of weight lifting equipment and cardio and it is kept clean--someone is cleaning equipment most all the time whenever I am there. As long as I am somewhat flexible in the order I do my lifts I seldom have to wait. The staff is helpful and while I don't use a personal trainer, I have quite a few friends who do and they seem quite satisfied with the experience. read more

Canceled my account back in January (with written proof from golds). Got a call yesterday stating my account is in collections for 6 months if missed payments. I went into the location and told them this and they asked for the proof of cancellation email. Well I don't have the email from 9 months ago. And so because I don't have this email they say I'm still responsible for the charges and that they can't cancel my account until the balance is paid. The gym itself is fine as far as equipment. The staff is nice and helpful. But if you're only going for the workout, there's a lot of good cheaper gyms and you know who they are. The TVs can only be heard if the audio app is working and often it's not. There's limited channel choices. The WiFi connection is sketchy. Sometimes have d to connect. The pool is a lap pool with just 2 lanes so wait you turn or awkwardly share a lane. Also the pool is VERY COLD. If you like it that way, go for it. The whirlpool is good and so it the sauna and showers. The worst thing about it is the layout of the small locker room, men's anyway (I assume women's is same. Only 6 small changing areas with 6 small benches. If you dress in an area where another is dressing at the same time, one of you must move. Hate it. Been a member since they opened June 1, 2017 but now switching to older but gym with older equipment but better pool, locker room, and a wet steam room. read more

We signed up for a year with the stipulation of using Gold's Gym with a kid's club. We have 2 children and this is a MUST for us to be able to work out. Our personal trainer was awesome in the time we had him and really this is the one thing about this gym I will always have good memories of. We got a good 4 months of workouts in but then COVID-19 happened and we've not been able to come back safely. We appreciate having the ability to freeze our accounts for free but this is not a long term solution. The kid's club has been closed with no future date to reopen, yet if we cancel now we get charged $100 fee per person, and if we continue using the gym (unfrozen), there is no kid's club, so it won't work for us! This is very frustrating and I find it very unforgiving that there is absolutely no way for y'all to waive ANY of the vast amount of fees (yearly, maintenance, cancellation, etc.) under these dire circumstances. Also, at this Tower Point location, we could not get help from the front desk people nor manager to help us in this situation. They basically said "this is above my pay grade" with their arms up. Service over the phone was also no help as they say it's all written in our contract. We will not be using Gold's Gym ever again thanks to their lack of customer response to the world pandemic. read more

My situation is similar to many other posted reviews. Facility is nice enough, but the contract issues and resolutions are not customer friendly. I just cancelled my membership that I thought was frozen. Their records illustrate that I did discuss freezing my account with the manager. She said I have been doing this for 8 years. I would have handed you a freeze form to institute it. "Why didn't you" I asked. I left thinking the account was frozen. She just replied "read your contract." Also in that "read your contract", I should have read that when you cancel evidently they are going to charge you for another month before your contract can be terminated. I cancelled 4/9/24, they are going to charge me again in a few weeks, but I will have access to the gym I wasn't using until late May. Yay for me! If you do sign up for a membership, keep every piece of paper they hand you and read every email they send. The policies are not customer friendly - don't rely on them to do what is logically fair or moral. read more

Clean, very spacious, and updated equipment is a must when looking for the perfect gym. Golds Gym Towerpoint has all of that plus more! I love all the classes they offer throughout the week, and the fact that they have a big area for the kids club/daycare! I will say that the only thing that is slightly frustrating is that I continuously get phone calls to "come in and discuss membership options" even though I already signed up for a membership lol. And the guy who originally did my membership was so new that he had no idea what he was doing. Regardless - these aren't bothersome enough to cancel. Love Golds and will continue going! read more

Poor communication money hungry location. Updated my card before being charged for the upcoming month and the staff worker at the front didn't bother to do it after I asked her to then I get charged a 20 late fee which is ridiculous itself and they tell me they can't refund me because either way the payment had already been posted and said they couldn't do anything about it which is obviously a complete lie. read more

Experience was great until they lost my paperwork with my cancellation notice. I canceled in early February and now it's September and they said they will not refund since they cannot find THEIR OWN PAPERWORK. I joined Gold's gym right before the pandemic but I couldn't go to the gym since the kids club was closed and I have no family here to take of my kids.The only reason I choose Gold's gym because of the kids club otherwise other gyms are less expensive. I emailed them to cancel my membership. They did not response to my email and later the collection agency send me the notice. I talked to them and they asked me to send the old emaiI. I send it to them and they still make excuses to keep charges on me. I NEVER recommend this company to anyone else after this. I would have happily gone back after the kids club open, but now I will tell everyone that they are unreasonable and not caring in cases like this. read more

Terrible gym. Barely have any group classes (& keep cancelling/reducing. Very poor customer service. Have sent emails and left messages to ask questions and no one calls back. Also now requiring masks while you work out, so everyone fakes it and pulls down under nose. Ridiculous they require this and forcing people to fake it. Be very careful before you join this gym. The trainers and equipment are great, but the business model is a complete scam. I just received a $930 bill for 5 months of charges dating back to the beginning of the pandemic, including 8 x $20 for alleged declined credit card billings. I went personally into the gym to update my billing details and freeze my membership for months while I had a hip replacement. Nobody contacted me to let me know that they were charging me even while they were closed and nobody is answering the phone, either at the gym or at Gold's Gym central billing. read more

Since the pandemic with Covid started, I have been harassed numerous times while trying to run on the treadmill about wearing my mask I have a medical condition and made upper management aware of it. Holly is one of the rudest people at the gym the only reason I have not quit is because I feel that I need to stand my ground I will not be bullied by a kid manager. read more

I hate this gym. The only upside to it is some of the updated equipment and the fact that it has a pool. Unfortunately the pool is always clowdy and I have gotten two staph infections since I've been a member here. Coincidence? Maybe. But I attribute it to the fact that nothing is cleaned regularly. The first week I was there, there was flooding in the bathroom for days. This month there has been the same lotion-like liquid on one of the locker room benches for over 3 weeks. That is proof that the staff don't even clean the benches, which to me is a no-brainer. In fact, I rarely see the staff cleaning anything. In my opinion, most of the staff are lazy and unmanaged. In general, the staph is friendly, but I just don't like the atmosphere. For a brand new gym, this Gold's isn't taking care of their stuff and they need to better manage pool maintenance and general cleaning. read more

I went on a tour of the gym with the intentions of signing up for a membership. I really liked the facilities, however I did not care for Hitler Holly or the way she spoke to staff and members. I cannot understand why any business would employ such a rude and condescending person. Gold's needs to remember that customer service is the key to keeping members and a happy staff will deliver that for them. read more

I really wanted to give Gold's the benefit of the doubt despite the terrible things I have heard. Don't get me wrong it is a great facility and the staff is very nice but I have had nothing but issues since I signed up here. My main issue is with billing. This month I was incorrectly charged $70.00 which took me two days to get the manager on the phone to see this mistake. They said it was their fault and that they could not refund the money but they could credit it to my account. That was fine until this morning I see that they charged my account an additional $70.00. So it is not even the 15th of the month and they have charged me $140 over what I am supposed to pay. My account is now insufficient and I will be paying fees on top of that as well for their mistake. I am a college student and I work full time. I support myself so I can not afford an extra $140 accidentally taken out of my account. I wish I could just cancel but I am locked in for a year. Can't wait to see how much more additional money gets pulled out of my account. Thank you Golds. read more

My wife and I are pleased with the facility in general, however, this location has chosen to employ a new system for watching the televisions located in front of the treadmills and stair steppers. You have to log on to an app on your phone in order to get audio. When it does work, there is about a 1/2 second delay, which is slightly annoying. The problem is, the app does not work about half the time. My main goal is to go there to work out. That being said, I spend a lot of time on the treadmills and stair steppers and expect their stuff to work. I complain about it every day, but as of yet, the problem persists. read more

I am a transferred member of Aggieland Fitness Dome and really dislike this gym. As an older lady, I liked the laid back ambiance of the Dome and especially the spinning classes. I also used the treadmill with their own tv. This gym has only shared tv screens...Fox news or Golds channel and cycle classes cost an extra $30 per month. I asked to cancel my contract, but was refused and told to drive an extra 3.5 miles to their other facility so I can use the cycle classes FOC. I have used the gym only 4 times,won't be back and have to wait another 4 months for contract to expire. Very unfair. read more
