This is the best gym I have ever been to. I have worked out at many gyms in my lifting career and this gym is GREAT! Ken the owner is incredibly helpful, very nice, and the equipment is phenomenal. As a mom this gym is the best I've seen near Evans for childcare. We just switched from Evans Fitness club where the kids 3 and under are placed in a tiny room right in front of a huge tv. The ladies at Golds are so kind and attentive. We've been twice and the tv has never been on. The kids actually like it and the space is large and they can run, climb and do all the things kids should be able to do. It makes me feel so much better about getting my workout in. The gym itself is okay, has everything I need but not as much space or classes as a place like EFC. If I didn't have kids I'd probably go to EFC but bc I have kids I chose this place, really like it so far. read more

Cleanest gym there is. I literally watched one of the ladies clean the bars with a toothbrush. They have a bunch of new equipment, and it looks like they get something new every couple months or so. I've never had a bad experience with it. Only downfall is I'd have to pay an extra $10 a month for childcare. My insurance pays for my membership. So when I have my son I just go to another local gym. read more

I started coming here because it's closer to where I live than my old gym. I really like the Les Mills group fitness classes. This gym is a pretty decent size, lots of equipment and multiple group fitness rooms so there are a lot of class options. For me, that's what I prefer is the classes. Membership is only $39.99 per month and you can use any of the Gold's in Augusta. Not to mention you can get guest passes for other Gold's if you're out of town. read more

Formerly a gym where people came in to put their head down and grind out their workout, now nothing more than an overpacked highschool social for teenagers to place a backpack to claim a lifting spot and then stand infront of the mirror for selfies and talk to their friends and potential boy/girl friends. good luck if your goal is to exercise. read more

They have about 20 of those brand new, fancy bodybuilder machines. Always clean, especially the bathroom. Open 24/7 and the night shift desk guy is chill. Downsides: some equipment is outdated, there's not a lot of space or machines, there's only one group space. If you're looking for lots of different fancy group classes or like not having to wait for machines during rush hour, and you're ok with 6AM-10PM hours and a dirty locker room, go to EFC. The one room for classes has a sound system that doesn't always work. Also, one speaker doesn't work and the other speaker is cracked. I'm sad for the great instructors because members are talking about going elsewhere because of the poor system. read more

Don't listen to all these other reviews written by karen's about the rap music and how it's too overcrowded. I've taken upon myself to visit EFC, and Max fitness and neither of them come close to the level of cleanliness and organization Golds has. The staff is always super respectful and nice and the cleaning ladies are always working. However, I suggest going before 4 or after 7, those busy hours do get a little crowded when people get off work. This gym made EFC look like a run down warehouse. read more

The Gold's Gym - Evans location is now open. I dropped by to check out a class. I have the membership that allows you to utilize the other locations, which is great. Several of the instructors at the Walton Way location encouraged us to come by once the facility was open to enjoy their classes. I liked the space. It is cleaner and less crowded than the Walton Way location. They have plenty of equipment. The Women's Locker room is nice and they have a steam room and cinema room. Lots a weights around the space too. I'd drop into this location from time to time. It's further from me than the Walton Way location, which is easier for me to reach during the hours I like to work out. But I can see myself visiting this location for classes that are in the morning. The have plenty of parking and that should never be an issue. The staff seemed nice and spread out throughout the facility to assist in anyway. Nice addition to the Evans area. read more

Great gym. One of the best gyms I have been at. Now let me say, Gold's Gym is a fringe top 5 commercial gym franchise for me. I do not have a Gold's Gym where I live, but often find myself traveling to places where Gold's is the only gym around. I usually have to pay too much for a day pass, only to enjoy a gym that has broken down equipment, out of order bathrooms, has 193% humidity inside, smells like sweaty feet, and where the gym staff passive aggressively talks to me when I get a day pass. I also see that memberships to these places are usually a hilarious $30-35 a month. So it makes sense I am usually 1 of like 5 people in there. This gym was clean, had great equipment, had a great atmosphere, and super chill Gym Staff. The layout was also great, one of the only gyms that had a partitioned wall around the dance studio. I'm not a fan of having to watch Kathy do Zumba while I'm on a machine, I'm sure the crowd that does classes also appreciates this separation. For me, I'm prepping for a powerlifting meet. The amount of squat racks, deadlift platforms, benches, and free weights was a welcome sight. There is also large amounts of Turf areas where a lot can be done. This Gym can fit pretty much any type of workout you want to do. I come to Augusta to visit family, but will definitely be buying day passes in the future and if I lived here I would be a member at this gym. Thank you Gold's Gym Evans for showing me what's possible. Maybe other Gold's Gym's can be more like you, and not the sad, overpriced, places that they usually are. read more

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. PLEASE READ. One of the worst gyms I've ever experienced in my lifetime. Surprisingly, the worst part of this experience wasn't the dead cockroaches I found in the locker room, or the random puddles I kept finding on the floors. The worst part of it all was the customer service. The owner did not care about my time or my experience. The owner and the employees made me feel uncomfortable and unimportant. I came as a guest looking for a permanent home gym, just to feel judged and unappreciated. Very disappointed. read more

This establishment refuses to take responsibility for their contracts and pay what they owe. I tried to communicate with Ken Lynch but he refused to read the signed legal paper contract that was signed stated 18 months for $499 not 12 months with 6 free months. On top of that, I received PCS orders to leave in May yet Ken stated well if you would had stayed you would of gotten your 6 months free and then he went on to state he was also charging me for June because 30 day notice wasn't given. Ken Lynch refuses to understand the legality of the contract and pay the remaining $110.39 to make this whole. read more

I'm a die hard LA fitness fan... so moving to an area that didn't have one was difficult. My husband recommended this gym to me after it was introduced to him by a friend. Not going to lie, I really enjoy it. We have a military membership, which includes all features of the gym (tanning, equipment, classes, everything) for $29.99/month. Just be mindful that they have a 2 year commitment contract (which can be broken IF you have military orders to relocate). The gym does get very busy, so be mindful of this. My husband also alerted me of female housekeeping being in the men's locker room with no warning. I personally feel that this needs to be corrected. read more

This gym is newly opened and has all the basic amenities you could ask for out of a gym. There is no basketball court or swimming pool, but there is a sauna and steam room in the locker rooms, a spin room, multiple rooms for classes, and all the free weights and machine weights you can think of. I really like the fact that there's a good amount of bench's and squat racks. Tons of cardio machines as well. They also have jump ropes, kettle bells , and a nice strip of Astro turf to do different kinds of work outs on as well. A membership here costs me $20/month. For everything that this gym has to offer, you really can't beat that! I definitely would recommend signing up here. read more

As a female attending the rap music played is derogatory, filled with profanity, raunchy, racist, and disrespectful. It has been addressed with management however it continues to be played. I travel a lot and I try several gyms in town when I stay. Most of the time I'll skip around till I find one that's ok and just ride it out because I just need a workout. But This Golds Gym is way better than most I've been to. It's not overly crowded, the staff is very friendly and the tanning booths are awesome. They have a sauna and hydrotherapy beds all included in the membership. They have way more available as classes and such but I don't use those so I wouldn't know about them but I'm sure there just a good from the experience I've had with everything else. The membership rates are $29 mo. I believe. Which is very reasonable but I only sign up for one month at a time for $50 per month. read more

I was so happy to have this gym open! My husband and I have a membership and we typically had to commute to workout at another location (which was a pain and I would never go). This one is super close to our house and it is very convenient. I go almost every day and Brea always welcomes me by name and with a big smile. She is lovely. The space has everything you could ever want. The Cardio Cinema is pretty cool; you can workout and watch a movie at the same time. I am not a fan of crowds, so I usually go later at night to avoid the after-work rush. I like to workout solo and end up ducking into the GGX studio when there are no classes going. I grab a mat and have a nice quiet stretch/cardio session. I wish there was a ladies only section but I know I am being picky! Overall a great spot. read more

DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER OF GOLD'S GYM! I REPEAT, DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER OF GOLD'S GYM! I've had the worst experience of my life dealing with this unprofessional gym. If I could give it zero stars then I most definitely would. I am a student at USCA and I usually use our wellness center to work out, but unfortunately they were closed when I got off of work on Sunday. I proceeded to call Gold's Gym to see if they had a one day pass just for that day. While being impatient and trying to get my workout in before they closed at 8pm, I met an associate there named Micheal Knight. He proposed the week pass and then he proposed a 45 day trail for $1.00. I agreed due to the fact that I get off pretty late and I wanted to see if I liked the gym to become a potential a member. Micheal asked if I liked to pay the $1.00 now or wait because some people wait. I didn't wait and I paid with my debit card. When signing my signature I thought it was for processing my $1.00 as credit. A week passed and a total of $29.99 came out of my bank account from Gold's Gym. I was absolutely confused because I thought I signed up for the 45 day trail for $1.00. I called the gym and talked with Micheal and he sounded really concerned. He said he was confused on why it came out of my account and in the computer it says 45 days for a $1.00. He then said I will call the number and see why this has happened and he asked when would I like to make the payment. I said I didn't want to make a payment because I was unsure on why money came out of my account when I'm not even a member. He said he would have given me a call back, but I never got a call back. I continued to call the gym and I missed out on Micheal. A week later I called Gold's Gym and I talked to a young lady by the name of Jordan and I told her that I wanted to get a refund of my $29.99 and she said it was for my monthly membership. Again, I'm confused because I didn't sign up for a membership, just a trail. She then proceeded to inform me that I have a 2 year contract with GOLD'S GYM!!! WHAT!? When I did have the 45 day trail Micheal contacted me personally to welcome me into the gym. I texted him to inform him on what happened and I called him when he got in at 12 on Monday. Micheal said he never signed me up for a 45 day trail and that there was no such thing and that I knew what I was signing when I was signing it. He also said he never spoke to me on the phone. That same day I went in to talk to the General Manager named Mitch. Mitch asked me "When you saw that it was a contract why didn't you say anything about it then?" " It's nothing I can do about it, I will have to talk to Lauren who runs all the gyms in the Aiken-Augusta area. To clarify I didn't know I had a contract, I thought Micheal gave me just a regular membership paper. I'm only 18 I've never seen a contract a day in my life. The folder did have the contract and it had the gym's schedule as well as activities that were going on this month. Mitch also told me that Lauren's office wasn't in the facility and that it was located somewhere else. Micheal gave me a number to call, which was Lauren's number and it continued to go to voicemail, I did leave a voicemail, but she never contacted me back. The next morning I went into Gold's Gym and I saw Mitch inside of Lauren's office, which he told me that it was located elsewhere. When I did talk to Mitch he didn't seem concerned at all about how I felt being 18 years old and having a contract. Fortunately, my contract did get cancelled and Gold's Gym is behind me. Please think twice before becomeing a member at Gold's Gym. I understand everyone makes a commission at places like this and I guess I was a easy target for Micheal that day and they can keep the $29.99 as long as I'm out of the contract and never have to deal with Gold's Gym ever again. read more

This is a full gym with nearly all of the iron and machines you'd need to do a Bodyspace workout. There are 2 power rack platforms with bumper plates, and 2 genuine squat racks. The only gear I've noticed missing is a lying t-bar, and a standing calf raise; many alternatives are of course available. Staff keep the workout area picked up, and the locker rooms are nice and clean. There's ample locker space, large showers, a sauna, and a steam room. As someone else has noted, they allow women in the men's locker room for cleaning, which is troublesome of course. Body composition analysis (with tracking) is available; their machine reads low on BF% compared to a DEXA scan. Unfortunately, the floor isn't supervised, and members don't make a lot of eye contact, so getting a spot for a heavy lift might not happen. There are personal trainers, but my past experience with the 'Prime Fitness' group associated with Gold's has been strongly negative - a big turnover rate, late or missed appointments, and an essentially unbreakable contract that favors Prime Fitness but not the client when these things happen. I haven't seen any trainers who are 'swole' but that could just be a matter of when I come. read more
