    More of the gym floor
    Quentin D.

The gym is nice and so is the atmosphere... they pressure you into the gym however and once they get you in they are a bit aloof, stand offish, and not kind. But gym is nice so I can't complain. But don't expect kindness from the marketing manager. Front desk and staff however, are very friendly.

Lights off in the stretch area and large fans only in the front of the gym as if that's going to help with the lack of air conditioner.

When the gym first opened it was great however over the past month it's just gotten increasingly worse and worse of a facility. The air conditioner has been out for 4 weeks now and the only information the team provides you when asked is that they are waiting on pepco to come and fix it. At this rate it feels like they aren't doing anything to even try and fix the situation. Aside from the air conditioner being out, power has also been out for 4 weeks around the gym, for example the lights above the stretch area turn on and off every few minutes leaving you in complete darkness and 75% of the cardio machines don't work. It's unacceptable how no one from management has communicated the issues to members or offered any solutions.

Golds Gym tonight's and a fan. That is there answer to AC.

Fit360 is a great model of a community gym -- the staff is friendly, the owner is a local, and fellow gym goers are courteous. I am someone who benefits from classes to help me push myself and I especially love their lift classes, which are typically small (under 10 people) and mixed gender, with varying levels for each station based on your fitness and expertise. Jonathan and Nino both do a great job as instructors helping with form and technique. This year I also added in some personal training with Kwame and it has been fantastic so far. So glad this gym is part of my community.

I'm actually paying for a separate Nutritionist who I visit about every month. I started here about two months ago, and I've been much more committed this time around. It's even more motivational that the gym.is located literally across the street from my apartment. It's a decent gym and they have almost everything that I need, minus the abs machine. I do have the Gold membership and I think that it's a good fit for me since I rarely have ever participated in any type of gym class. They do offered the classes here, and I've seen a number of people leaving from a class. I appreciate that the gym is available for whenever I need it, and even more importantly that they're located so close to me.

To say that joining Ultimate Performance about 18 months ago was one of the key moments in my life…read morewould not be an understatement. For over the last decade - I have been yo-yo'ing with different strength trainers and diets in an attempt to regain the same level of fitness that I had in my 20s. Unfortunately - over that time I have seen my weight increase by over 80 lbs. Since joining UP - I have seen the weight drop in a slow, steady and most importantly sustainability manner. UP is able to accomplish this because they have a system that combines strength training, cardio, nutrition and sleep. All of this is wrapped around an application that you use to track a variety of metrics (sleep, diet, steps, etc). This information is reviewed daily (if not more often) by your trainer - they make sure that you are on the correct path. If someone had told me when I started all of this - that in a year I would be running, doing metric century bike rides, and would almost be under 200 lbs - I would have laughed at them. If you want to change your life - come give UP a chance. You will be blown away by how supportive everyone is, how fast the results come, how sustainable this is, and how much better you will feel.

I recommend UP in general and Zach in particular. UP is different than other gyms to which I've…read morebelonged. You come in at specific times to work with your trainer doing specific lifts; the focus is on lifting rather than cardio. I wasn't sure about the approach as my primary goal was fat loss, but it has both been successful and gives a great return on investment of time. The gym itself is better equipped than any facility I have seen, and the UP app is been helpful in tracking nutrition and workouts. But I think their trainers are the key. I started working with Zach last summer, and have been very happy with the results. I've lost over 30 pounds and have never been stronger. He is a great resource regarding technique in lifting and motivation during sessions, but also makes them enjoyable. Zach developed and adapted workouts and nutrition throughout, modifying to help me continue making progress, and helped me understand nutrition (which I thought I did before, but didn't). The program at UP worked better for me than anything else ever has, which I find remarkable as I am in my 50's with a busy life including job, family, and travel.

I have been coached by professional trainers for the majority of that time, including D1 and Olympic coaches. I am happy to report that the entire team at Ambitious has kept me engaged, supported, and challenged the whole time. This is not only true of the coaching, but of the other members as well. At this point, they are friends. The workouts are programmed in a way that keeps me pushing myself while letting me scale back when needed. The coaching staff is always there to ensure form is solid or to offer an alternative if my body isn't 100% there that morning. Having worked with many strength coaches over the last 15 years, I am confident in saying that your well-being and safety are their top concern. This is coming from a former springboard and platform diving coach, whose first concern always had to be safety. On the member side, or team, as I like to think of them, I cannot say enough positive things. If I am out unexpectedly, people reach out to make sure I am okay. Everyone is there to see everyone get better, which brings incredible accountability. As someone who is not a morning person by any measure, I get myself out of bed for the 7:15 class willingly. 7:15 vs. the world. This has been a wonderful, impactful year with Ambitious. I am happy to keep life as my sport.

Down a long, narrow corridor, you enter a dark room with neon florescent paint. The dumbbells are neon, spaces on the floor are neon, paint on the wall is neon. The you notice the best playlists you can think of blasting in the background. This place works for me because I kinda hate working out but I do it out of discipline and for my health. The workouts here are fun and with the lights down low, I can move this jelly with no reservations. (not belly, jelly, you know the lose parts from the neck down? ) The environment is motivating and I see results from the workouts. However, I moved and since I had been missing this place but I always keep in touch with Coach G via stalking on IG because he's so sweet. Well Coronavirus hit. I was home. All gyms are closed. And I was thinking dang- how will I survive without any exercise?!? Boom! That's when I saw Coach G's post about "Sweat Anywhere. No Gym. No Problem." I quickly reached out, signed up (small monthly fee), and just like that I had access to live workouts with the same great trainers at the gym (shouts to Aaron, Sarah, Nazinga, & Stephen) and the lovely people who go there. 30min-40min classes of all kinds are available: HITT, boxing, strength, yoga, Barre, hip-hop step, etc. If I can't make the class live, no problem I have access to the video anytime. Instantly, I was hooked taking multiple classes per week and looking forward to actually seeing someone for a change. Fast forward a month on Sweat Anywhere and Coach G has added more items to this platform: guest trainers, doctors to answer questions, food discussions, happy hours, etc. This has become an all around health and wellness platform for me during this time. It's also given the me the chance to take classes I haven't tried before like Barre. I can take the fee classes from the nationwide companies but Coach G and his employees live in my community. I'd rather support this local business during this tough time. Besides the support they are giving me has exceeded what I expected when I signed up for access to classes. So looking forward to going back to their night club studio some day.

I signed up for the one week trial and had a great time! I was only able to attend four classes,…read morebut enjoyed each one. The instructors were really helpful and gave me some modification options. It would probably help to have some background knowledge of common lifts, but the instructors show the movements and they play on video screens if you need it. Everyone attending was generally in their own zone, so there isn't a lot of chatting because you really focus on getting the exercises done in the set times. I will say that the classes go by super quickly because you're always moving. Cons: The programming is set for the whole month. So each day of the week has its set program and you do that each week for the whole month. For me, this would get old (I really need variety). On the plus side, it does mean you get to see active gains throughout the month. The membership plan is a little pricey. I get why it costs so much, since they do have to cover rent and you only really attend during the class sessions. It isn't a type of gym where you just drop in when you want to use certain equipment. The unlimited monthly membership is $299, but in reality you are getting 30 or 31 classes depending on the month. Since the classes are the same all day, it is unlikely you would do two classes in a day, right? So the pricing is about $10/class if you do the unlimited monthly pass and you go every day. Some of the equipment was pretty smelly. I was at one station that honestly made me gag a little... I think the bench or maybe the dumbells had never been thoroughly cleaned with a bleach solution.
