This Y offers a climbing wall (don't think that this is open yet), indoor pool and splash area outside, full gyms, as well as community rooms. This is an older Y, but the staff here make it feel like home. The best lifeguard is Ric (kudos for keeping us all safe in the pool area and being a great dude). Kim G-B is an awesome Foreverwell Coordinator, offering fun and educational and healthy choices to the older folks (yep-that's me).

He failed and was told he could not continue. The tests were done in a punishing way and under threat of failing. He has passed the brick test at three other locations with plenty of time. The instructor did not have any empathy or customer service. Pool does not have any natural light and is colder than normal. There was mildew on all the caulk around the pool. Stay away from this instructor and location.

I love that they don't charge you joiners fee and you can buy your membership several different ways. You can pay for a day pass, punchcard (certain amount of times), or by the months increments (1,3,6,12). A day pass I think is only $5. They also have free nights for anyone who lives in Brooklyn center on Saturday evenings. You are able to use both the pool and the fitness room it's from 5pm to 7pm. I originally bought a 10 inch pass. I liked it so much. I'm planning to now getting a year membership. It's a lot less crowded than other gyms . At least in the evenings. I've never been there other times of the day. I haven't had chance to do the group fitness yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it. I'm also planning to sign up for some swim lessons this year. I would love to learn this would be for summer.

I started in August and I'm a big big fan. I was a bigger woman, 40, and couldn't run for more than 5 minutes without dying. Josh worked with me to build confidence first. It was great to know someone believed that I could. He has never asked me to do anything that he didn't believe I could do: which has changed my life. I'm working out three days a week with a group of people that are amazingly kind and diverse. I've kept at it - and it's not a pain. It's now just part of my life. I'm down some weight, feel better, and am more confident. I also have a brand new muscle crease in my bicep that's never been there before.

Josh will set up a program for you that fits your abilities. He loves working with older people to help them reach their goals, like building strength to help you manage everyday tasks. When they figured it out I had to pay a huge bill and they still left one month outstanding. It was outstanding for over a year due to multiple errors on their part. Due to this my "debt" was sent to collections. And the YMCA was of no help. They did not waive the fee nor did they ever attempt to contact me. Never once when I signed in at the gym or by phone. Because of their error I now have a debt in collections and they could not answer why they never tried to reach me or how the error happened. Do not go here they will mess with your credit.
