The beauty of M/Body is that they really offer everything, including personal training and some options for getting workouts in around normal class times. HIIT classes were (and still are) my absolute favorite, and the classes here are exciting and station based. I will never take barre again based on my experience here, but that has more to do with me and nothing to do with the quality of the classes - pretty sure this is one of the best barre experiences in the area...I just think all barre experiences are criminal and TORTURE. I digress. If you're looking for a snappy, clean facility in a perfect location, M/Body is for you. They consistently run specials on pricing and are especially good to their first timers. Give it a go if you've yet to try a class!

I paid $100 for 4 lessons, thinking they have professional instructors  to teach me how to swim. When I went there, they looked at me and my mom like we are aliens. The lady, that was supposed to be in charge said that she wasn't aware we were coming and I specifically signed up for adult class! The two trainers, as you can tell, were pushed on us. One had her arms folded and the other said "um, let me see what else I can I do to teach you". They didn't have any plan and we're making things up as they go. My mother and I were struggling in the water and they laughed at us. We were laughing at ourselves,  but they instructors and should know what to do. Me and my mother went online for swimming beginner tips, and the first thing is to learn how to breath underwater and they didn't do anything like that. They told us to dip our heads under water and that's it. They didn't tell us how to breath or nothing. Mr. Ben Whipple, the director, is a joke. He won't listen to you at all and only thinks about money and not the quality of the service. He has every excuse in the world not to try to rectify the situation. He was trying to blame us for holding classes that the lady in charge didn't know we were coming. I didn't feel comfortable continuing the lessons. Now, I'm going somewhere else to learn how to swim and this whole experience made me even more afraid. Some adults have fears and try to conquer them. When you have incompetent instructors, that can exacerbate your fears. This is water! I could drown! I already told them, that I had very bad experiences when I was young. I'm still going to try to teach myself how to swim. The sad part is, that I had to go to Youtube to see what I needed to do as a beginner. When you are taking someone's money, you should have a plan and not have adults in little kid's classes!! I regret paying for these lesson if you are a beginner, don't waste your time or money here!

As this was my first class, I was greeted by the front desk staff and then taken through the workout prior to class starting. The whole team was super detail oriented and expert at walking me through everything I needed to know to be successful. The workout itself is a challenge in the best possible way. Like all orangetheory's, it is a mix of treadmill, row machine, and weight training. I would say the cardio focus is what makes this class better/different than the HIIT classes I've taken previously. They make sprints and interval treadmill training seem super sexy and doable by placing names on each "push" zone and encouraging participants, and showing immediate results of that effort in real time. It's a value proposition that's hard to beat! They are very generous in offering up the first class free, and I am trying to figure out if it is something I can make workable in my budget. Word to the wise (and if you're here you may already know this) - she ain't cheap! $69 for 4 classes a month, $109 for 8, and $169 unlimited. I'm ready to invest in my health the same way I invest in takeout, so I'll keep you posted on what I decide to go with, Yelp fam!

I bought a pack of ten classes as an employee explained that I would be able to use the remaining classes at my local studio on the west coast. When I tried to book a class through the app I got a notification that I would be charged an extra $10 for each class that I use in LA as my local studio is a "select studio". Like I said, I made it clear initially that I was going to be using the majority of the classes in LA but I was never alerted of the extra charge I would have to pay. This pack of classes would therefore end up costing me $300 when I could have bought it for $250 in LA.

I had fallen on ice a few times and have a torn rotator cuff. With Chris's help I have improved my range of motion in that arm, grown stronger, and my balance is so much better. Chris knows just how to balance variety in exercise and pushing me to the next level. It is hard work but I enjoy my training time with Chris! This is not a bad gym, but there are some things that could definitely be improved! Several…read moremachines are broken for at least east the last two weeks, if not longer! They could use at least two more incline benches in front of the free weights area. They could do a better job vacuuming the floor in the workout areas because there are gobs of hair and pieces of trash that are floating around. Locker rooms are abysmal with only two benches available for the locker room at least 5 feet away from each side. The tall lockers when you open them up, you cannot even see what's on the top shelf, which is probably 7 feet tall. All of the cubbies across from the showers could stand to have a locking latch on their doors! So nobody could easily go in there while you were showering and grab your stuff. There's not even a chair or hooks in some of those partitions. I'm kind of stuck using this facility while I'm in town. I've been to some better and even some that have been worse! EDIT: This review should be enough for PF to take action to improve the facility since they replied to the review!

I've been a member at this PF location for only a week or two at this point and have been so…read moreimpressed by the staff, the attention to all things Covid cleanliness, and to be honest - the cheapness of it all. $10 per month is very much in budget after having to cancel a boutique style membership I had nearby. I know, I know - "why are you here during a global pandemic?! MUCH JUDGEMENT." I needed to head back to the gym for my mental and physical health, and, after a lot of research, this PF location has covered their bases on safety and then some. All members and staff are diligent about masking, yes - even on treadmills and cardio equipment. There are hand sanitizing stations every couple of feet, equipment sanitizing stations everywhere, and the ability to social distance easily because, to be frank, there's nobody there. I was sold on PF based on this and their crowd-o-meter that allows you to go in to the app and see how busy the gym is at any given time. I go at off peak times only and have never seen another person on a treadmill besides myself, along with the fact that 70% of the treadmills are blocked off. All this to say, I love being back in the gym and am happy to have found a place that feels so safe. I'll update this review once the Coronatimes are behind us (so maybe never? Hahahahahahahah *sobbing*) but in the meantime will enjoy this basically empty location that feels sad (no amount of punny social fitnessing word play can make working out during a pandemic feel normal) but safe. Great location in Baytowne with everything you need post-gym right nearby.
