Why do you keep closing the pools!! We are seniors who use the pool more than anything else in Webster, and now you closed the Webster location and the irondequoit location. We are now driving all the way to the east ave location but finding it is very crowded. You were the only fitness club in Webster and irondequoit that had a pool and the reason we joined that club!! also Suggest you convert the racquetball courts in irondequoit, that nobody uses, to the very popular pickleball courts that would draw in more members!! read more

They eliminated 90% of their classes, particularly the cycling classes, and if you complain about it, they say that nobody wanted to take the classes and that's why they eliminated them. That's BS. I used to take cycling classes at this location three times a week and had to get there earlier or I wouldn't get a bike. This is just continued use of the pandemic as an excuse not to offer people value for their money-- or pay people to teach the classes. I suspect they are cheap and don't want to pay instructors a fair wage, and probably don't treat them very well either.. It's interesting that other clubs manage to have classes, but not LA Fitness--eSPORTA--oops, we're back to LA fitness again (they keep changing their name). No matter their name, they don't seem to do much to improve the club. They seem to be determined to drive it into the ground. The equipment is getting really shabby. They closed the pool for some reason that no one can explain other than "people we weren't using it." Members used it when it was open. They are not using it now because it's closed. Just like members weren't signing up for exercise classes because classes were constantly cancelled and now removed altogether. altogether. It's really too bad, because it's a nice space and it could be a really great club, but clearly all they care about is group training at an exorbitant price with trainers who look like they'd rather be anywhere else and doing the bare minimum to keep the doors open. read more

I utilize all of the LA|Fitness locations in Upstate NY & the Webster location is by far one of the top locations. I would even go as far as saying it's one of the best Gym Facilities in Rochester. They have it all from group fitness classes, free weights, strength machines & cardio equipment to a pool, sauna & Jacuzzi. If you are in the market for a fitness facility that also is compliant with all NYS & Health Department policy during the Covid-19 Pandemic, I would highly recommend you put LA|Fitness in Webster at the top of your list!!! read more

The guy Brian G. was the one who signed me up. Me and my friend spent over an hour discussing the membership and the promotion that was going on. Nobody was confused. After a few months of utilizing said promotion, he randomly took it away. I thought it was a misunderstanding and I could ask him what happened. It was like he was waiting for me to walk up and ask, immediately hostile and defensive. I am always kind to customer service, and I do not like having to even confront anybody about poor service. He argued with me and stated he never told me that and he was letting me do it for those few months to be nice but he's not allowing it anymore. He was extremely rude and when I asked to speak with someone else to confirm(I've never done this before), he stated he was the general manager and there was no one else. Which I found out was not true. When my friend asked to cancel a membership she just signed up for under false pretenses his was response was, "oh so you're just trying to screw me out of a sale?". I genuienely have never dealt with anything like this. I do not suggest going somewhere that treats their customers this poorly, especially ones who lie and say anything to sign you up for a service. It's my first time here, from the appearance of Things it has the LA Fitness "Look". It's clean and feels good to be in. I personally enjoy the Greece location more, but it is nice to have so many options to try other locations. Overall I'm very happy with LA fitness, when I travel for work; I'm able to get a quick workout in or even get ready for a business meeting there. I was so excited to begin an excersize program and signed up for membership. I was supposed to get an assessment, one time free, to set me up with a program which I scheduled for the next day. Over the course of two hours we talked about my health, my goals and did some moves to show my range if motion. Meanwhile I'm realizing this is a sales pitch. When it came down to it they wanted an additional monthly fee and an additional enrollment fee that was huge. When I asked about setting me up on the equipment he said, "what you need is complicated and I don't work for free"! So I never got shown how to use any equipment or instruction on how to proceed. It was a crushing moment for me especially since it was very hard for me to walk in there to begin with. I was so upset I cried and cancelled my membership immediately. read more

This place went from being a prestige fitness center to becoming an after school special. Anytime I come it is littered with high school aged kids running around acting a fool. Play fighting, playing tag, and hogging all the equipment while they just socialize rather then lift. And talking/acting obnoxious while the staff does NOTHING to try and control it. In the past month I've witnessed two altercations, both in front of staff and they did nothing to intervene and de-escalate the situation. Sad to see once such a nice gym go to complete shit over the years. read more

Typically Esportas and LA fitnesses are nice gyms but I'd recommend looking for another one besides this one. It's constantly crowded with young kids that don't respect others or the equipment, and the staff doesn't really help. If you go between 4pm-7pm you typically have to wait at most machines. I think the lat pull down was out of service for 6 weeks or something. I recently moved out of the area and tried to cancel my membership. We went in-person twice before moving try to cancelled and were told no one there could do it and to come back later. Then after moving we had to mail in a request to cancel, but it turned out they opened two accounts in our name, unknowingly to us, and only cancelled one. Then when I called to figure out I why I was getting charged again I was told to mail another letter, include a note asking for a refund, and that someone will "probably see it". After pressing it a bit more I was told by the general manger "I don't really care about your refund, and I have a long line in front of me". I'm sure that's not a typical experience and most people are happy with the place, though. Just know cancelling is a headache. read more

Rude staff, always distracted on their phones and don't even bother looking up to greet customers or say goodbye. Literally the only thing they have to do besides make calls to members who no longer pay. Was a staff member years ago at three different clubs and the energy and expectations were held to a higher standard back then. OM during the week doesn't even say hi or look up, same with rest of the staff on morning/afternoon shifts. Only other people I do wanna give a shout out to is the cleaner in the mornings m-f, said he works 5-2pm. And the two gentleman that work at night as well, they keep things nice and clean and do the best they can to get into the ladies room when they can. Not even looking for anything extra but dang atleast greet your members. Got little kids running around , last I knew you had to be over 13 to use the gym. Kids less than 10 walking around wasting space doing nothing but sitting way to long on machines socializing. read more

The gym itself offers so much from personal training, to exercise classes, the pool, sauna, basketball court, and of course their extensive workout exercise equipment. I highly recommend them more than planet fitness or bally total fitness. read more

This location is exactly the same as it was pre COVId. Precious little attention paid to any sort of cleanliness. I have cleaned hair out of sinks in ladies bathroom too many times to count. Staff doesn't care about anything - at least it appears that way. If there was ANY OTHER option I would be there. read more

Buyer beware gym users beware. Bad app ( in app purchases cost me $165) even though I canceled personal training service. No notes in app at all for this and I wasn't informed I was being charged until my CC was billed. Owners don't care and they pretty much said suck it up you're not getting your refund or a credit. Funny how the app doesn't advertise in app purchases at all. The line staff are great but the owners and corporate.....no wonder they had to change the name from LA Fitness to Esporta.... they probably had to hide all the bad reviews that LA Fitness and had prior to the name change. read more

Beautiful facility! Immaculate equipment & locker rooms. The entire building is very open and the layout has a great flow. They offer a variety of membership options, include classes and have top notch trainers available for 1:1 training sessions or in small groups for a really great value. However, signing up for a free 2 week trial means you are also signing up to get borderline harassed by phone. They will call you daily! The high pressure sales tactics are a HUGE turnoff. I just want to work out and be left alone. It was to the point where I didn't want to finish my trial as I didn't want to walk by the staff who would accost me and try to sell me. They are super thirsty because LA doesn't pay their staff well (crazy commission structure). read more

I called to ask if they got around to making hot water a reality again, and of course, I spoke with Stan, and his answer was word salad versus comprehendible language. What makes the issue MORE bush league is that they have NO sign up, letting members know. This place is AWFUL!! -MACHINES ARE BROKEN, as in like 2-3 machines work upstairs. With covid every other machine you can't use which limits machine availability. Then add that only 2-3 out of the ones not labeled for covid rules work. - None that are broken are labeled as such! I spend most of my time trying to figure out which ones work! - it's about 75 in there at all times! Employees say the thermostat is locked in a box so no one can adjust it.....( not even corporate???) - cardio machines are OLD and outdated! Not iPhone compatible, and tv's have maybe 2 channels that come in!! - weights don't match! From different sets - LADIES... don't try to use the bathrooms! They are constantly DISGUSTING!!! Today all were overflowing with excrement and urine!!! Not one clean enough to use!! ( Employees said "I'm not allowed to go in there- ) DONT COVID POLICIES REQUIRE A CLEANING PERSON AT GYMS NOW????? I belong because it's close to where I work so I do go there. But I signed for personal training for a year - wanted to quit after 7 months, it cost too much, and the trainer I had left. The trainers I was put with next were kids. I complained and was told a new trainer was coming I'd like. Which was true she was knowledgeable. So my 12 months ends but my bank draft doesn't! I was told by prior training manager I wouldn't have to do anything to cancel he'd take care of it. I called the new training manager the day after the collection. And still haven't heard back, very frustrated. Since I've been there the pool's closing. The spa has been closed for weeks. The bathrooms are always a mess. There are no hair dryers. Planet Fitness had them and they didn't even have a pool! At one time four out of the six of my favorite cardio machines didn't work. They kept shutting off during a workout and yes the trainers that aren't working with customers are always on their phones. They have to use their own mobile data because the club doesn't have Wi-Fi it's not a cheap Club and it could be good if they only gave a damn. A gym with much potential but nobody cares... nothing worse than being a member of a club or gym that could care less about anything. About you, about the facility, nothing. I went here for almost 2 years and it got worse and worse until I just couldn't take it any more. I went weeks without receiving a simple hello at the door... This company has horrible customer service. My debit card expired and I didn't realize it. They called me 10 times and left voicemails a day after they could t charge my account, telling me that I would be charged a late fee. 8 of those times were after I spoke with a representative telling them I would go to the store and update because I wouldn't update over the phone. I calle today to cancel, fed up with all the calls, and was told I could only cancel by coming in Monday through Friday 9-6pm because that was the ONLY time a manager was in the store. I demanded to have a manager call me and they told me a manager would not give me special treatment. Think twice before signing up for this gym because they make it really difficult to cancel and they keep poor notes on your account when you have already spoken with a representative about updating your billing information. read more

LA. Fitness is one of the greatest gyms in the area for the amount of money you pay. I'm a big fan. I'm usually doing the classes, but if I'm not in the mood then I'll take a lap in the pool or throw some b-balls around in the gymnasium. The locker rooms are big and clean. I do wish they had hair dryers (say 4 or so) attached to the walls so I don't have to bring mine each time, you know like they have at hotels. Another great perk, would be to have some feminine hygiene products in the locker rooms for those emergencies, it would be a nice touch. read more

Issues started when pool was closed for 3 weeks. Was told that reason it was closed was because the pump was bad. 3 weeks to replace a pool pump is absolutely ridiculous. Brought this issue to the attention of corporate office and NEVER received any call back or anything. Absolutely no effort to resolve or explain what's going on. Pool was eventually reopened and water never drained! After a pool remains unfiltered for 3 weeks I would think for health and sanitary reasons it would be drained and refilled with fresh water. Sauna was down, called them, again no explanation or call back. Equipment often "Out of Service". Sketchy things going on in the locker room as far as possible drug use, locker break ins, etc. Once day I signed in at front desk and they even had a notice posted about personal belongings being taken from lockers. Also mentioned break ins in the parking lot. Next issue was that my Credit Card was scammed so bank sent me a new card. Forgot I had LA Fitness linked to that card. Remember when I had raised facility concerns to management and never got a call back. The minute my card was not able to be charged because new card was issued, my phone was blowing up with calls from LA Fitness! Both corporate and local location calling. This is borderline harassment. This also shows that the company does not care about its customers, only cares to take their money. Called one last time to corporate for resolution or I will cancel. They would rather cancel I guess. With that said, membership cancelled. If you're looking for a Gym that only wants your money, has dirty unsanitary facilities, and will harass you the second they can't get their funds on time, this is the gym for you! If you do sign up though, I would not pay more than about $5 a month, that's about all they are worth on a good day. read more

We've ran into some hard times , lost of job , we tried to get a hardship cancellation of a training contract and they basically told us they didn't care of we moved into our car , it HAD to be paid , we even offered to pay for the cancellation fee a little every month and the person over the district managers said NO . He was very rude , had no compassion . Went to Gym on guess pass with my son. Went to shoot hoops in gym. Kids started playing a game on open gym night and told us to get out the way. The kids said the play there everyday from 5:30pm until 7:30pm. So much for an open gym. I went and got the General Manager Andre A. He did nothing about it. I did not even get an apology. So much for spending money on a Guess Pass. Turns out Andre is the sales manager. So he lied to me about being the General Manager. My recommendation is not to go. The just there to sell memberships. Once you are there they don't care about you or your guest. They definitely don't care how you are treated by other members. read more

Every day I was pressured into getting one, until one day, I was told that I could do sessions instead of being locked into a full year contract.
