The eye exam part was fine. It went downhill after I picked up my Oakley prescription glasses & clip on polarized sunglasses. I was at a busy lakefront restaurant, with a friend when a magnet popped out of the lense within 2-3 hours of having them. The lenses felt loose, especially compared to my numerous, previous trusted Oakley brand prescription glasses. I called & I was told to bring them in & they could fix them while I wait. I drive from an hour & a half away to bring them in & am told no one is there to fix them & I can drop them off and pick them up after the weekend on Monday. I get a call the following morning saying they were ready. Again, they tell me one thing and do another. The staff is all "nice" but NOT one person acknowledged or apologized for how much of an inconvenience it was for me, the customer. I have owned numerous Oakley glasses for decades & have never had a problem. Just with this eye care center. I have had to adjust two different days of my schedule/time to have repairs done & drive back to pick them up. I lost daylight time, other expenses like gas, when I could have been doing other things. Hours out of my day & not one acknowledgment! I will go back to my former Eye care place that isn't as costly on top of it from now on. Lesson learned! At my other eye doctor place, I got prescription polarized "sunglasses" for at least $100 to $150 cheaper than what I paid them for "CLIP ONS." There's a similar review I read where they showed zero concern as well. I've run multimillion dollar companies & trained management, employed thousands of diverse people, I imagine someone told them "not" to say sorry or be apologetic because it might "imply" fault on their part. But, A little empathy/sympathy goes a long way. They knew I was irritated by the situation & their obvious inferior product or someone's apparent ineptitude & did nothing to sympathize or show empathy. They seemingly do not appreciate their customers & it's obvious. I thought I was helping a small town business. When I originally walked in they hounded me like I might steal some $2 glass frames. I simply wanted to see & pick out my glasses before deciding to go with them & I politely told them I was looking for Oakley brand specifically, if I didn't find any I liked I would go somewhere else. They tried getting my name and information before I had even decided to go with them. I should have noted that as a red flag and left & gone somewhere that are used to diversity in skin tone. I wouldn't trust buying the clip on magnetic sunglasses if this is how it's going to be. I typically don't waste my time on reviews but I have had enough of businesses that show zero remorse and pass off inferior product at high end prices. They seemingly have a huge overhead in staff that hound you, except when you bring it in for repairs, then no one is there, like I was told there would be. It should have all been done right the first time. Incompetence, inferior product and zero accountability really bothers me. I'll wear my old prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses so I don't break my new ones again and waste more time with this company. read more

Went to Prior Lake location. Great experience with eye exam. HORRIBLE experience with purchasing frames/glasses. DO NOT use Goldsmith if using insurance. I purchased one pair out of pocket (just fine). Used insurance for a second pair. Lenses are HORRIBLE and glasses are unusable. When asked was told by Goldsmith that it's because they do not have anti-reflection which they said is normally not even offered on lenses through insurance (paying extra out of pocket was not offered when ordering the glasses). When asked if there was anything that could be done Goldsmith told me I'd have to pay $110 (out of pocket) for new lenses with the feature. Glasses going in garbage, thanks so much Goldsmith. Zero compassion or attempt to fix the issue other than asking for more money. read more

I found myself in a situation where suddenly my glasses were no longer able to be used, due to something I did, NOT because of a quality issue. I contacted Goldsmith Eye Care and within a matter of minutes (seriously it was minutes), Dr. Wendy had a new pair of lenses and frames ordered for me. Approximately 20 minutes later, Dr. Wendy called with great news. All but 10% of the lenses and frames would be covered under a warranty! I have ALWAYS received excellent service from everyone at Goldsmith Eye Care from the moment I walk into their clinic until I leave. If you are looking for a reputable, trustworthy place for eye care where they treat you with respect and dignity while performing their job in an honest, professional, friendly and ethical manner...Goldsmith Eye Care is the place to go.
