In the past I have always had good experiences with Goldstar, but they have introduced a new pre-pay system which they do not understand. In concequence they cancelled my taxi at the last minute risking me missing an international flight, even though my bank statment says their system took a payment and then later returned it. My advice is to avoid untill they sort out their IT system. read more

We have always been very happy with Goldstar in the past however not so pleased this last time as have had to use them a few times recently. We booked a taxi for 9am to take us to the railway station allowing us time to be comfortable before our train was due to leave as we usually buy a hot drink to take on the train but also allow time for toilet visits due to medical issues. However, the last time our taxi hadn't turned up by 9am so waited another 5 mins then rang them to be told it was on its way so waited a further 10 mins still not turned up so rang again at 9:15 to be told it was on its way which it was by then but we had been told that at last call and we found out it was only just dropping off a previous customer, it turned up at 9:18 am. The lady on the phone was quite rude and insisted it would be coming and asked what time our train was and said we would still have time to get there, which I didnt think was appropriate and not the issue as although we didn't miss the train it didn't give us time to do what we would normally have to do. Also we allow extra time for traffic conditions as can be a very busy time of the day which they don't seem to consider either. read more

Do not use this firm. They cancelled our taxi with only ten minutes' notice on Christmas Day without explanation leaving us stranded. When I called them, they said they couldn't take dogs. That would be acceptable if not for the fact I had told them about the dog a month previously when making the booking. Then this morning my taxi to the station didn't arrive. When I called them, they said I should not have used the app and should have called them, then they could have told me they had no one available for that time. The pattern here in both instances is that they blame the customer for their own shortcomings. They said I should have called instead of using the app even though the app confirmed the booking. They said I should not have used the "special requirements" box on the app because they don't read it until just before pick up. Apparently I was to know this. Why then have the app and the special requirements box in the first place? Blaming customers for using the app is the worst kind of customer service there is. The result? On Christmas Day we had to walk home in the pouring rain for over two hours. Today? I missed my train and therefore an important meeting at work. Do they care or did they ever apologise? Very bad customer service.. I called for a taxi and I was asked where I was I explained that I was at the bus station, the person I spoke to said he can't send a taxi to the bustop and I tried to give him a different location close to me but he said he won't send a taxi I should take the bus instead and hung up. This was very rude to be honest. I called again for a taxi and he told me no. I tried to explain that there was no bus at the time and it was urgent he said no and hung up again. I just felt that was really rude and I don't understand why a taxi will turn my request down and ask me to take a bus. if they were buses I wouldn't be calling a taxi for Christ sake. this was a very bad experience and this is my first time using good start and this is what I get? We normally are picked up from the airport by family, but that wasn't possible this time. We contacted Goldstar. The car was waiting nice on time, clean and large to allow all our suitcases to be carried. The driver was friendly and drove excellently. The price of £28 from Norwich Airport to Dereham is very reasonable. Thoroughly recommended. read more

Fantastic taxi company in Norwich - we took a hackney carriage cab from the station and it cost a fortune, then tried a firm recommended by our hotel, who also charged more, but we used 1st Goldstar twice and the pricing was reasonable and consistent (the same journey was £5.50 both times, whereas it was £6.50 with another firm and over £7.00 with the black cab!). Definitely worth giving these guys a call just as your train gets in to save a couple of quid. Nice cars too! read more

This company is appalling in every way possible! One of their drivers NEARLY CAUSED A MULTIPLE CAR PILE-UP whilst taking three bridesmaids to our daughter's wedding. He did not know where he was going and asked the bridesmaids how to get there?! He was so terrified of getting lost that he followed the bridal Rolls Royce with a top speed of 45mph along the NDR. He then proceeded to pull to on someone on the NDR and then on the Buxton Road Junction heading towards Alby. If it wasn't for the drivers of the other vehicles on the A140 who managed to stop he would have killed our bridesmaids. This was witnessed by many people. (07/05/22 if you were involved in this) They were also late in picking up the bridesmaid, cancelling the booked minibus and making us pay for two taxis ONE HOUR BEFORE THE WEDDING! The man n the phone didn't care one bit, saying I could find other transport if I wished!! They deny they were late even though I have sent them proof. The Bridesmaids turned up at the wedding AFTER the bride. The first taxi driver hassled our guests for payment!!! So rude. But for all of these hideous events to happen for them not to care is a joke. I was told that the owner would ring me but no one ever did. I shall be reporting this company to the council also as their driver could have killed someone. They are liars, they are rude, they are dangerous. With so many other companies to choose from, don't choose these! read more

If you want fluctuating fare prices and a controller that is SO rude when i asked about the differing prices, then use this firm!!! Although the drivers are nice, it is because of the awful behaviour of the controller, that when I said they'd lost a customer, she just laughed and put the phone down. Since then I have found Bestway on 01603 615634 who have a fixed fare for my repeat journey, and the controller is very pleasant. read more

Nice cars but a shame about some of the drivers..driver of a silver mondeo YG58 SSK urinating in plain view of other traffic passing by..what a great advert..won't be using them again especially as he has to give you change with urine over his fingers !!!!! read more
