Lessons are not "one size fits all". - Tim understands that every golfer has different "feels" and inconsistencies. Just because something works for Adam Scott does not mean it will work for me. 2. Tim explains the fundamentals in a way you are able repeat a swing and make on course adjustments to save a round. -Tim has an amazing ability to focus on the fundamentals of his core swing training but also give individual "feels" and "movements" which has helped me be able to make on course adjustments to save a score/ round. 3. Tim is absolutely amazing. We have completely changed my swing for the better. My average score before starting was in the 120's. Now after a year I shot my first 99 and continue to improve. If you are serious about changing your game get to Tim ASAP. Tim is far from your usual pro. He won't just watch you and change a few things. Your swing will be taken down to the basics and built up from there. He will give you drills to do at home. If you follow through the sky is the limit. I have been working with Tim for years and the changes have been phenomenal, my handicap has dropped from 20 to 10. People don't understand that you only play to your handicap one in five times; with Tim's lessons i have been able to score at my handicap 4/5 times. Even though i have been going for years my swing still gets off from time to time, but with in minutes Tim gets me dialed in again. After casually golfing once every few years, I decided to take up golf last summer, and after attempting to learn a proper golf swing from numerous internet gurus and YouTube videos, I went to see Tim. Tim showed me how truly bad my swing was, and basically he did a hard reset, teaching me to swing from scratch using simple, easy to learn micro motions and feels. Last year in the fall I was scoring in the mid 90's to low 100's. 6 months after starting lessons with Tim I have golfed in the 80's nearly every round this year, and my handicap is 12 (a reduction of 20), and most of the reason why I haven't broken 80 is because of mishit shots, bad decisions, and the fact that this swing is still very new to me. Tim is the real deal. I have waited to post any reviews until I felt like I had enough to say. If you want to get better at golf follow this program, do the drills and keep at it. Tim's style is very personal and results driven, his studio has all the gear you need and it worked for me. He checked and calibrated my irons for loft and lie and has tons of knowledge about club fitting. After a year of lessons the results are unreal. He has an easy style and all the sessions are fun and have a video analysis so you can keep working on drills between lessons. Can't speak highly enough about Tim and his program! read more

Last year, I took up golf as a hobby and decided to take lessons. I'm so glad I found Tim because he is a great teacher. I used to shoot in the 130's and now I'm in the mid-90's after working with Tim. During one of my first lessons, Tim explained to me that what he will be teaching me is a series of steps and drills that build on each other as we go. I think this was because I was a beginner golfer so I needed to start with the basics and then build on that. There were definitely times when I would think to myself "I don't know how this drill is going to help my game" or "This drill feels weird" but be patient! It will all come together at the end. It sure did for me. But the key to success is PRACTICE. After my first few lessons, I did not practice the drills Tim taught me. I claimed that I did not have time to practice and as a result, I saw no change in my game/score. For some reason, I thought I could just listen to what he said and somehow execute it on the course. Not the case. After I decided to take these lessons more seriously and practicing, I saw huge improvements in my game. And improvements don't all come at once. It can be a slow process and you have to be patient and keep working on the things that Tim teaches you. Also, practicing does not take hours. Even 10 minutes a day or every other day is seriously better than no practice at all. Another tip is to ask questions. Tim is great at explaining something if you don't understand what he is saying at first. He's also good at responding to email, text, etc if you have questions after your lesson. So he's very approachable, which great. I could tell from my lessons that Tim is truly passionate about teaching and dedicated to growing his students. I have been playing golf for 25 years. I was basically self taught. I played decent enough but consistency was my biggest problem. I'd shoot an 80 something one day and 100 something the next on the very same course. Shooting in the mid 90s was a rewarding day for me. I had the opportunity to play with a scratch golfer one day who told me that most decent players never reach his level because they're too stubborn to take a lesson. They'll spend $400 on a new driver, but won't consider paying a golf pro. Those words rang true in my ears. I saw a Groupon for Golf in Motion and decided to give it a shot. I'm truly happy with my results. Tim and I hit it off very well from the jump. He was able to analyze my swing, break down the faults and get me to a place where I was able to deliver the club face into the ball square to the ball time and time again. I hit the ball now straighter and longer. This has increased my confidence. I know that if I'm within 150 yards of the green, my next shot will be on the green. My putting has also improved and I no longer give away easy strokes on the green. Three putts are a thing of the past thanks to Golf in Motion. After each lesson Tim sends a video reviewing the lesson which helps tremendously. I told Tim that my goal was the shoot in the 70s one day. Have been working with Tim for about 6 months now, and the difference in my golf swing has been immense. Tim and I have been constructing a new swing piece-by-piece, working to eliminate bad habits developed over time while incorporating the (few) good elements that I brought to the table. He subscribes to a method that immediately struck me as both logical and digestible, and he does a wonderful job of clearly describing and demonstrating what it is he wants you to do and why such things are critical to a sound swing. He always makes sure that I grasp both the short term and long term goals. I always leave lessons with a couple simple things to work on, and such work has come together to already produce major improvements. While my swing re-construction is still in its relative early stages, I have gone from hitting my 7-iron 150 yards at best to now being able to smack it 180+ yards with far less effort. In fact, one of the biggest changes I've noticed is that I no longer am sore or worn out after range sessions. This guy is the REAL DEAL. I started off playing young but like a lot of people never had any proper instruction. I would play decent here or there, but still would struggle on the course. I got fed up with my game and decided to make a serious effort to get better. I was referred to Tim through my boss at work who has been taking lessons with Tim for over 3 years. The rest is history. As a new golfer, I had a couple of lessons with other instructors. One was basically just hit the ball and the other gave more mechanics. For me I wanted mechanics and to know the why when things go well and when they don't. Then I came to Golf in Motion. Tim is very good at breaking the movements down and explaining why something works and why it doesn't. He's a great instructor and I'm very glad I went here. Let me start off by saying Tim Overman is beyond phenomenal. I received Tim's number through a co-worker who went to Time for a few lessons. I'm a former athlete. I played Football and baseball collegiately and picked up golf up a few years back after completing my career. Like most athletes, I thought I would be great at golf, BOY WAS I WRONG! When I met Tim, it was a humbling experience. I was a player that was d"duffing" the ball across the course. Losing balls far right off the tee and leaving the course exhausted after scoring 130-140 strokes a round. King of the three putts and drops. Took 5 lessons with Tim which was magical. He is extremely personable and a phenomenal teacher. We worked on a few fixes that has now allowed me to not only save money because I'm no longer losing 50 balls a round, I'm consistently shooting in the low 80's just from 5 lessons and doing the drills that Tim has given me. The facility is a little bit of a drive for me, which I will continue to make that drive because Tim is literally worth every bit of time, money and experience. Golf in Motion offers a superb location to improve your game, especially during the long Chicago off-season. I worked with Tim and Chris last Spring to make major changes to my golf swing. Habits created by years of inconsistent play are difficult to break. Tim and Chris broke down my flaws and provided drills to correct. Since all video analysis from each lesson can be accessed on my phone, I'd review the lessons throughout the season to keep me focused on swing corrections. This has been a great experience. Golf in motion has improved my skills a lot, including my golf swings in a great way. Both instructors are awesome. As a beginner in golf I decided to get the 10 lesson package deal. I started with the proper body mechanics and rotation and drills which I was determined to accomplish. It was one of my motivational and inspirational goals I wanted to personally accomplish. I've been playing golf on and off since I was a kid, but I never took any formal lessons. I knew that I was inconsistent, but I occasionally put together a decent round that kept me coming back to the game. After getting destroyed on the golf course by some guys who are REALLY good, and developing some lower back problems, I decided that if I was going to play this game into my later years, now was the time to invest in some lessons. I didn't want to hurt myself further or get discouraged by inconsistent playing. But, I didn't know where to go. I'm not a member of a club, so I knew I'd have to take a leap of faith somewhere. One day, I stopped into the golf shop and liked the guys there so I decided to start with them. They hooked me up with Tim Overman for an analysis of my swing, and he immediately knew why my back was hurting. I had what was called a reverse tilt, and I was coming WAY over the top. I had never seen my swing on video before and it was ugly. I wish I could post a before and after video of my swing here, as that would be the best recommendation of what Tim has taught me. His instruction has completely changed my swing. My swing now has lag, which translates into greater distance and I can now get through a round of golf pain free. With his instruction on my short game, my chips are actually getting close to the pin so my scores are coming down. Going through a swing change is a process, and it takes a time commitment and a lot of practice with the body movements, most of the time without hitting a ball. GOLF IN MOTION IS AMAZING!!! Tim is a wonderful instructor! We were impressed with our groupon session and decided to sign up for a 10 lesson package. Tim allowed my husband and I to share the package so we would each get 30mins in our 1hr session which was great. He starts with the basic proper body mechanics and didn't let me hit a ball until the 3rd or 4th session because he stated it would only distract me and that was SO TRUE! He wants his students to learn the motions so that they are second nature before adding the ball. Each session he video records your form and then shows you a side by side comparison with a pro-player in order to show you clearly the areas that need work. He would then email us the videos of ourselves with tips on what to work on for the next session. The final lesson is an 18 hole round out on a golf course jammin' out to some sweet reggae tunes in the golf cart. This was very fun and a great learning experience. My husband and I were sad when the final session ended. BUT we definitely will be going back to him for some check-up lessons in the future.
