I brought a friend who's new to golf to try some irons. We were told to wait, and after about 10 minutes, an employee named Dan took us to a simulator. When my friend said he wanted to "hit balls," Dan immediately got condescending and reprimanded us, even though it was clear my friend was new and simply misspoke. Later, when I asked to try a couple clubs while my friend grabbed others, Dan asked if I planned to buy anything. I said possibly, depending on the data and pricing. He responded with a sarcastic comment implying I was just there to "bang balls," then walked off saying, "have fun banging balls." The entire interaction was unprofessional and left a really bad impression. Unfortunately, I won't be returning after this experience.

One of his better qualities is that he doesn't push the new gear, club heads or shafts, onto you unless he knows it'll help your game. I cannot tell you how valuable that is during a fitting. I have heard too many bad stories from other premier fitting locations, CC or others, where that isn't the case. Another great thing is the equipment is an ongoing conversation and we have discussed tweaks to lie angles and lofts depending on misses or gapping issues. Nick is also the best builder in the entire area. Every club he has built me is spot on. I have sent dozens of friends and students who say the same thing. His attention to detail is impeccable. Note: Whenever I drop something off, I always follow it up with a typed message with all the specs, grip orientation, etc. just in case he's busy. Lastly, Nick is a great guy and very humble. Can't a customer browse, see if something is interesting first before being hovered over? If you like aggressive sales people breathing on you, so close where all you smell is their breath, come to Golfdom! But, if you want to shop like a normal person, AVOID GOLFDOM. I'm taking my money elsewhere. I don't like people breathing all over me.

After watching me swing my old club and some new ones he said that there was no doubt that I'd benefit from different clubs but, at the moment, he couldn't recommend what clubs in good conscience. He told me that before I looked at different clubs, I needed to be able to hit my old ones as well as I could and I wasn't. Once I'd maxed out my old ones, then I look for the ones that would make me even better. The rest of our session was spent on analyzing my mechanics. What he said defied the conventional wisdom that golfers read and most pros teach. He said that based on age, physical condition, and other things, I was no longer "conventional" and to re-orient my thinking from what the book says to do and find what works. He said that in compensating for my slice, I'd developed some habits that severely impacted my distance. Physics is a thing. We ended with some drills to work on to correct those problems and gave me some criteria for evaluating their effectiveness. He said when I met those targets, I should come back and we'll see where things are. If you're serious about improving your game, I recommend setting up a session with him.

Since their store is so tiny, they were hawking me everywhere i went, asking me what i wanted every 5 minutes. As soon as another customer was checking out they suddenly switched their attitudes to that "fake friendly" demeanor as they turned their attention towards that customer. When that customer left they focused back on me like hawks waiting for their prey. Was planning to buy a new full set of XXIOs, but that experience convinced me to just buy it from the xxio website instead. This is what you get when the employees are also the owners - no corporate policies on customer treatment, no consequences on their predatory behavior. PGA Superstore and Golf Galaxy are not only cheaper, but they are angels compared to these hawks. It's laughable.

Walked in around 4:20 for my 4:30-5:30 "(Indoor) Performance Studio lesson"…read more I was welcomed by Kelly King ( with whom I had the lesson with ) with a big smile and a handshake which always gives a good first impression. Since I was a little early and there was junior classes going on , I was told to take a seat until my time started. The seating area had full view of the facilities , water available and a TV where a golf tournament was on. For the ten minutes I was seated , I was watching Steve WenPetren coach the junior class that was going on . He seemed very engaged with each of the kids during practice and seemed supportive while also providing advice. Now onto my lesson. It was undoubtedly 100% the best hour I have ever spent on my golf swing ever. We used the TrackMan to measure swing characteristics and swing data . Within minutes , Kelly had me hitting straighter , further and more consistent with my pitching wedge, all backed up by hard data/numbers. We moved onto putting , pitching , driving and full iron shots , all within the hour. He helped me engage parts of my body to help my golf swing that not only looked better on camera but I can see with the swing data myself. I was also given some tips to take to the range and putting green to improve my game outside of lessons. I was semi-doubtful of how much I could change in an hour, but I was proved wrong and I will be back in the future.
