This is where I spent a good amount of my misguided youth and questionably acquired income. (The other place I spent a lot of time was the Milpitas Public Library, but don't let that mislead you - it wasn't academin, I was there fawning over a girl. Shuttup.) Before "home consoles" became powerful and commonplace and before "broadband" was a techy buzzword, people played videogames the old fashioned way - standing side-by-side in a dingy smelly loud arcade surrounded by lookers-on cheering or chiding the participants. Some of that ambiance remains at this Golfland, but its tainted by a sad vibe of antiquity and stale novelty; people play games in the comfort of their homes for the most part and meet head-to-head over the internet, plastic guitars have brought arcade appeal into our living rooms. Still, it proves something of a event to go to an arcade (especially for the young nephews) - to sit on a high stool, arm's reach away from a bright screen making the iconic characters grander, the loud soundeffects intermingled with the din of noise from nearby games, the laughter and chatter of other people, the clackety clack of an airhockey machine, larger than life motorcylce and racing car game machines, the simple nuance that we're NOT at home. There are still some things that can't be emulated in a living room. Plus, there's still the childlike zeal of playing miniature golf. I usually scoff at the idea, reluctant to participate and dedicate the time to something so simple, but once we've tee'd off, it takes all my will not to fall into a competitve mindset. I never said I was mature, don't judge me. This place has fallen into a sad dilapidated state over the years (lots and lots of years, I haven't really been there in over a decade), but I think that's true for most places of the type, which is unfortunate; these places might not see the revenue they used to now that the mainstay of patrons (teen-young adults) now have little reason, but smaller children and families still have their events there. Of course, little kids aren't as discerning, so maybe it matters not. Dingy. Run down. Understaffed. But if it makes my kids smile and laugh for a two hours and $10 in tokens? This is by far, the saddest Golfland I've visited. Mini-golf is mini-golf, I guess, but this place seemed like a ghost-town. There was barely anyone there, and the place was in dire need of maintenance. The carpet/astroturf on the courses was pulling up in lots of places, with unrecognizable goo in several spots. Some of the courses had so many leaves on them that were never swept up, that it made it really difficult to putt on them. The water features had dozens of balls in them, that no one ever went in to remove. Worst of all, there are several scary benches around the property that are so flimsy that they put a piece of wood under all of them, so they don't break out from under you. I wouldn't sit on them, if I were you. In the arcade, half of the games were either not working, or didn't have any prizes in them. The UFO machine only had one stuffed animal in it. So...mini-golf is mini-golf, I guess. But next time, I'll drive the extra 15 minutes to go the Sunnyvale location. read more

Super fun place to go play some golf with friends. It was a little bit dirty and getting my ball out of the water (there's courses where golf balls can go in the water) was pretty disgusting. But I enjoyed this place!!!!! And I definitely will be back. read more

The place is OK. You can see an attempt to update the place. However you can tell it is run like a liquor store. How many different businesses can you put in here at once? The attempt is weak. Milpitas Golfland is a classic establishment for family fun. It has a well-maintained mini golf course that is very affordable. The arcade they have also includes tons of games that are fun to play. It's rare to see arcades in the area nowadays so I love MGL for sticking through. Players who enjoy fighting games can also go to the tournaments held here known as 'Versus' every Friday Night for quality competitive play. It's a great place to hang out at, kick back and have some fun. read more

I come here as often as possible to enjoy their sweet arcade games and competitive fighting game events. Held on most Friday nights, you can find some of the Bay Area's best FG competition. With the staff providing the consoles, the games, the monitors, a sound system, and even a projector, it is no wonder that this is place to be when you are itching to pop your X-Factor or toss some hadoukens. Went here recently with the kid. He's 3 so he was free, but I hadda shell out money. The back building is now Lazer Tag, but I didn't check it out. All the business is now handled at the food counter, which kinda takes away from the experience. All the games are now ticket type games, with only a handful of arcade video games. Come for the golf and plain pizza with kids, go elsewhere for the arcade games. read more

We brought our friend visiting from Atlanta here last December. We had so much fun that we came and played again last weekend with our friends (one of us also won a free game from the first time visit - beginners luck??). This is a great hang out place for family, friends, kids, or even couples. It is like a one stop funland with arcardes games, miniature golf, food and drinks on site. For $7.99, you can relax, enjoy the game and admire the garden setting around you. Even better, there is an internet special where you only pay a total of $24 for 4 ($6 each) and save $2 each. This place is great for the area. In the tri city area it does it's purpose, its a place for family to hang out in a fun environment that is for kids older than the targeted age for chuckie e cheese, age 6 and up. Since the hours are semi-late it's great for teenagers looking for something to do. Also, pricing for golfland is not bad, they have great deals on different days for golf, arcade, food, and even a combination of things. If you live in the area, go check it out! read more

My six-year-old just had a birthday party here. It was great. The hostess was fantastic. She was always smiling and happy to answer our questions. She served pizza to each child like we were at a restaurant. The poor girl struggled cutting through the ice cream cake, but she was cheerful and so professional the entire time. The pizza was very good. We also enjoyed the mini tacos and sampler platter. My birthday cake was ordered from baskin Robbins, which was literally down the street. So convenient. I wish the place was nicer and newer looking, but I'm not here for me and my kids were happy. I recommend bringing baby wipes to allow the kids to wipe their hands before the pizza is served and have a parent go into the dining room and pre-pour some drinks before the kids rush in. for me yeah its hella far. but so what. i go there probably once in a while when i got time. or when i am REALLY craving for pump it up. well first time i went there. i was like WTF wheres the arcade dont be alarmed its in the back. what i highly recommend. theirs this game on the side once you enter the front near the counter where they have those prizes when you collect those tickets. its possibly the most addicting game they have there. it gets you mad it gets you in all sorts of moods. its called the king of the hammer. why is it great. its challenging and its cheap. its really good if you have friends with you cause everybody gets into it. its 1 token for 2 trys. you cant beat that. i usually play this after the arcades just a real time consumer and it ends our stay at golfland. the arcade i think its great. its always updated with the top games people want to play i would say its the mecca of MUSIC GAMES thats if your a fan of it. it has guitar freaks, para para, pump it up DDR, i mean the list goes on. and what i like the most is its split off into sections like music games, racing games, shooting and fighting games. everytime i go there i have fun. i dont really go to golfland for golf or anything else they have just games. and thats what i like. but usually most of the time i go to MGL just for the music games but for INITIAL D version 4 i go to SVGL which is sunnyvale golf land its a bit closer to my house and its much cheaper only a dollar now yay! read more

I was going to give this place 3 or 4 stars because it's a semi decent place to go and have date night or bring the kids. But the place is INFESTED with cockroaches. They're absolutely EVERYWHERE. It's pretty disgusting and I cant even imagine eating here if the mini golf course has so many. Hope they get this problem fixed since it is a fun place to come and play mini golf but not if you have to look for cockroaches every 3 feet. read more

We can come here without worry of possibly not having a good time. Fun to do at night during the hotter months! We've never done the water slide portion, it doesn't ever look like a whole lot of fun, as there's only one slide, and no place to swim. You can have birthday parties here, and we've been so many times at different times of the year it doesn't seem like there would be a "bad time" to have a party! *Pro tip* Don't do the last hole, and some of the workers will let you keep the ball as a reminder of your good time.* Come here, you'll have a good time. Every time I drive by 680, I see Golfland. There are arcade games, laser tag, and of course, minigolf! There are 3 different courses, although I think my favorite is course 3. There's more variety in terms of the structures. Course 2 is very boring; all the courses are about the same. There are a lot of volcano-looking holes, which gets repetitive after a while. There was an incident in course 2 where at the castle, 3 of our golf balls got stuck in the pipes that lead to the other part of that hole. We had to go back and get some more balls. Also, there are a lot of places with ponds, so if your ball accidentally rolls into one, you have to get a new ball too! The ponds add a nice effect, but the water is really dirty. Anyway, there's also a chance to win a free game at the end! At the 19th hole, if you make a straight shot, you get a free game (can be used now or later)! I got it many many many years ago after getting last place in my group. When they give you your golf club and your ball in the beginning, they also provide a scoring sheet! I don't know how golf scoring works at all though, and they don't tell you what par is. Golfland has a family deal on Mondays after 5pm, which means $5 per game! Woot. This place has been around for a while, so it's not very new and the courses aren't super cool. Fun place to go to once in a while though! read more

Definitely the worst Golfland in the valley. The courses are okay, but not terribly creative. The birthday parties are the problem. The place is crawling with rude, ignorant parents standing around on the holes chatting while their kids run wild. It's more of a playground than a golf course. I feel sorry for the families with well behaved children just trying to play a round. read more

Came here on a double date. Told the girl at the window a game for 4 people. She said 40 bucks. We handed her a 20 dollar bill and told her to charge the rest onto the credit card. I do a double take at the pricing.. Ummm, its 8 dollars per game. We bring it up to her and she had already rung up the game for the cash portion. So we told her to just charge 12 on the card. This ditz charges another 20 on the card after we told her to charge only 12. She calls over her supervisor and they stand there for like 5min pondering over the cash registers how to do some sort of refund on the card. We just told them to give us 8 bucks back in cash. So they just hand it to us. This is probably their first jobs, I don't blame them on how they handled this situation. I've been in their shoes before. Over all game here was super fun. if you pay 10 dollars for a game you get 60 arcade tokens on top of that. Best deal ever! read more

The attraction is quite dated on the interior and exterior. I think an upgrade is sorely needed. Once you walk in, you are met with the usual suspects: Loud and obnoxious video games. The ones where you drop some hooks to retrieve a stuffed animal, like all my prior experiences, never work. One ate three of my quarters and just burped. I had to take my little girl to the bathroom and it smelled so ripe I almost didn't take her in, but when you gotta go... The gold holes are a bit strange. The angles don't work well and there are different types of astroturf that don't meet at the seams very well. Hence, a slow moving ball may follow the seam and not go into the hole. I also don't like the raised holes. It's like you need to time the speed of the ball to within a .0001% in order for it to stop and go in. There is plenty of shade, and the staff seemed friendly enough. Quite average, however. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've had here. There are 3 different min-golf courses at this place but people were going from one golf course to the next one. The other people or "customers" would climb over the statues or decorations without any respect for other people playing. Also, they would throw their garbage in the water traps and didn't care if their kids were running around and getting in the way of other players. The management didn't do anything to resolve the problems when people advised of it. The restrooms smelled of uncleaned toilets and the floor in the arcade and eating area was uncleaned as well. read more

Worst staff. I understand as a teen you always feel underpaid at venues like this where there's chaos everywhere, but this is still a business and still your job. There's no organization, no lines, no care for wait times, or quality of help. Everything fair priced on the menu and offering. Just wanted to give a shout out to LeAnne and her Manager Scott. We celebrated our son's Tenth Birthday early AM. I wasn't sure how an early party would work out. Our table and plates were All ready. They also provided extra plates and soda. Leanne was so attentive to our needs and kept on checking in on us. We were not kicked out of our spot. We celebrated at a place in San Jose and the workers brought our pizza and cakes out of the room and I thought was so rude...they later changed ownerships. We look forward to planning events in the future. Would like a different area in the future though. They also give you a special on tokens if you had a party there that day. The cost is comparable to other places, great pizza, service and environment...clean with sanitizers in areas and napkins at tables. read more

Fun for Kids and Adults I take my daughter at least twice or more in a year and she enjoys it a lot, we normally go with some friends and their kids. Try to avoid going in the afternoon as it becomes hot in the summer. We go after having an early dinner as it is open till late night. the parking is right outside the park. they have two 18 hole courses, kids and adults have blast playing. There are snacks available too. My daughter loves the feeling of getting the balls in the hole and all kids gets competitive too which is good. It is a small place, so keeping an eye on the kids is not difficult. Have seen lot of youngsters, couples and elderly people here too. There are benches all over the place so you can always take a break and rest your legs. Will keep visiting this place again and again. read more

We just hosted a party here for my son. Everything went very smoothly. It was spacious and all the activities were really well liked by the kids. The kids really like liked 'lazer' tag. The mini golf courses are nice and challenging. The pizza was pretty good compared to other party places. The vegetarian platter was especially good. Tristan was our host and he was excellent. He was very responsive and attentive. All in all it was a easy experience. We highly recommend it to any busy parent. read more

Pretty good, but there are just so many of the same types of holes. It'd be more fun if there were more cartoonish sets with moving parts.

We held a birthday party here recently and although the variety of activities was good (mini-golf, laser-tag, bumper cars), the host they provided was either not trained to host birthday parties or is not "host material". We had to get her from inside the building every time we needed anything (the tables were outside) and she hardly hung around. read more

I use to come here when I was a teenager. And I would play the miniature golf games with my friends or we would play the arcade games. The arcade games I think that had tickets that you could get and use towards the prizes that they had there, so that was fun. I usually was able to pick out something. They have snacks that you can purchase there I believe like pizza and sodas. But if you leave and go outside the Golfland there is a liquor store or convenience store nearby and I remember purchasing a small container of ice cream and some other snacks and brought them back in there to eat and they didn't mind at all. read more

Golfland is great. Golfland has 3 courses. They have not changed in forever, but I don't care. The difficulty is not too bad. There is a place for video games and pizza. I have never had the pizza, but I'm sure it's good. The golf is pretty cheap too. read more
