First time at Big Al's on Friday. This place reminds me of a Dave & Buster's because you can eat and play. There's a bowling alley off to the right as soon as you walk in. The bar was front and center and plenty of booths and tables towards the back of the restaurant. Our group ordered a large pizza and their chicken nachos. The rectangular pizza was humongous. Flavor was there and plenty of toppings throughout. We only finished about a third of it. The nachos were also served on a big rectangular platter. Again, plenty of food for a party of four. I highly recommend trying the appetizers, especially if you're stopping by to watch the World Cup. They do an amazing job hosting the games and create a great atmosphere for fans. This is a clean and huge establishment with cool lighting and music that is not super loud where you can hear your friends talk. There are two rooms of lanes, an arcade area, snd a big eating area. Food options are vast with many options and tasted good. Staff were in good spirits and came out to clean periodically. The entire place appeared clean, including the restrooms. The bowling shoes were a bit old and some were peeling and not super comfortable. There were not enough bowling balls of various sizes. Both were quite large in portions and actually quite delicious. We also got $5 pints of beer. I do wish they had more cider options but this is also not a beer house. We came with 2 other friends (4 of us in total) and they had arrived earlier and ordered their beers before us, yet oddly enough, my partner and I got our beers first. After mentioning it the server, they said they did not forget it and then brought them out shortly, but I feel like they did forget them. They also gave us one of the wrong beers and by then, happy hour had ended. Service here was quite a miss. It felt impossible to flag down a server. Big Al's is one of my go to spots for games. It is a great place to grab food, drink a few beers, and settle in for a Niners or Warriors game. I do not remember if they take reservations, but they do require most of your group to be there before seating, which is good to know ahead of time. Service is solid, even when things get busy. The food leans classic game day, and it hits the mark. The nachos are a standout and might be my favorite anywhere. The wings are also very good, especially with the hot sauce fully slathered on them. They have plenty of beers on tap, so it is easy to find something you like. The setup is ideal for watching sports, with big TVs, strong sound, and seating that works for both small and large groups. It gets very busy on game days, so plan ahead. read more

Nice place to go bowling, watch a sports game, and just hang out. There's a fairly big arcade too. There's a small bar in the front and then a bigger sports bar/dining area in the back. Plenty of TVs to watch games. The few bowling alley's in the front are meant for parties. Last time we went bowling, the service was nice. They have QR codes on the tables so that you can order when you're ready and it links to what aisle you're in. You can keep the tab open until you're done. Food was pretty good. The platters were way larger than we thought, but I guess we should've known from the price...Beer is about $10 for 16oz. Depending on if there's games or parties, parking can be harder to find. There's a big room with long tables for happy hour which seemed like a lonely college dorm dining hall. But one thing I like is their beer list, it's much more comprehensive compared to other places. The Blood Orange is delicious! Onto happy hour food. We tried the spicy chicken wings, the beef quesadillas, the fried mozzarella cheese balls, egg rolls, they are ok, average I would say. The artichoke dip is disappointing though, it's hard to scoop up anything and we largely abandoned it. On the other side of the wall there are some big screen TVs, so when we ran out of things to talk about, we could watch a bit of the winter Olympic games. Came here for a company holiday party. Booking online was easy and communication leading up to the event was awesome. Everything online for events was clear. The price and what's included; no hidden costs. We booked the Double Play. The area we had reserved was perfect and big for 25 people. The free games were perfect and kept us entertained. The games included: 2 dart boards, shuffle board, 2 billiard tables, 2 table tennis tables, foosball, jenga, connect four and wall scrabble. The Double Play option, consists of 1 platter of food for every 5 guests and also comes with a tray of salad and Texas toast. Checking in wasn't very smooth, we had to wait awhile for assistance and to be walked over to our location. The only negative we had was the food portion size; it's small. The food wasn't enough for the 25 people. Some people had to buy their own food off the regular menu. Would I come back here? Yes, but I wouldn't book here for a party. I've heard from other friends too who booked an event here and they said the same thing. The portion size was small and they had to order more food, which led them to going over the company budget. Came here for the 49ers vs Eagles playoff game. The vibe was crazy! The 49er fans definitely packed the house...and it's a pretty big house! We came with a group of 20 taking up 2 tables. They accommodated separate bills for everyone which was awesome. You get a fully itemized bill when you close out your tab. Our server was very attentive, always checking up on us despite the large crowd. The food was pretty good. We had wings, a burger, and fish and chips along with some beer and liquor. The food came out pretty quickly and was surprisingly good. I really like the wings; not too oily with a decent crispness. My burger was solid. Obviously not the greatest burger I've had, but not bad. Tater tots were a nice option as well. My wife wasn't feeling the fish n chips, but I thought they were okay. I had never been to Big Al's before, but attended a groups function there in the back bar area and it was a blast! Our group had a private area roped off and a plethora of food laid out for a buffet feast. There was salad, chicken kabobs, plates of antipasto, cheese, peppers, hummus, and of course nachos. In fact, I think it was the first time in my Yelp history that I was so busy eating and having fun that I forgot to take photos! *eyes crossed* The area we were in had pool tables and shuffle board. It's a very large space with games, bowling, and large tvs for sports. I think it's a great hang out for the whole family or hh with friends. The service here has always been friendly and fast. I recently went to hang out with a couple friends and it was fairly empty, but we were still treated with the same friendliness and quick speed of service. I forget our waiter's name, but she was awesome. Continually checking on us even though we chose a table way out in the patio area. The food is ok, bar food so my expectations weren't very high. Appetizers were decent size to share. The drinks were really good. I usually get a cocktail and they made them pretty strong. It's almost a perfect 5 stars, except the patio tables near the fire pits are a bit older and cracked and weathered. The couple of tables we decided to move to after it got dark had either spiders along those cracks or swarmed with ants. We didn't notice the ants until everyone in the group got bitten. I've driven by Big Al's countless times, but this was my first visit, a Monday in the mid-afternoon. We chose to sit in the restaurant section at the back with the large TVs. Despite the area and establishment being empty on a weekday, it took a surprisingly long time for a waiter to bring us menus, and even longer for our drinks to arrive. We waited over 15 minutes just for two happy hour beers. They do however, have a big selection of drinks and beer. The arcade area is small but was pretty fun. We came for a holiday work outing, and unfortunately I was disappointed almost immediately when we started bowling. The front desk informed us who would be managing our area, but right away we experienced issues with the bowling balls and pins getting stuck. It took over 20 minutes for someone to come and resolve the problem, which significantly cut into our allotted bowling time. We also had ordered food, or should I say finger food. While the presentation was fine, the selection consisted mostly of fried item. I opted for only the fruit platter. Despite the technical difficulties, the team did enjoy spending time together. Coming here for a 49ers game was one of the best watching experiences we've ever had. The place is absolutely massive with bowling, games, and massive TVs for watching events. There truly is something to do here for everyone. Parking was very easy to find as there's a massive lot outside. There's also an outdoor area if you want to have a nice breeze while you eat but it does feel a bit separated from the rest of the place if you're looking to split time between eating and playing. They do get very busy and don't take reservations or have an easy to access waitlist so be prepared in case you come on a big day. We would recommend coming an hour or so before gametime to make sure you can get a good table because it did fill up quickly. Since we were here to watch the 49ers play Monday night football we also got to take advantage of their happy hour specials, which was a big plus. We loaded up on food, here's what we got: chicken, beef, and cheese quesadillas; one pound of buffalo wings; Big Al's nachos; and a brookie. The food did take quite a bit of time to come out, but to be fair to them the place was packed for Monday Night Football and there were some large parties. The portions are absolutely massive and can easily feed a large party. The quesadillas were delicious, everything was really. The nachos were stacked up high and the wings were pretty good although we ordered a second set that never came, presumably because they forgot them. The brookie was also very good, a nice sendoff for all the carbs we just put down. All the food plus the ambiance of cheering (and a Niners win) made this just a fantastic experience. They also have bowling, arcade area, and darts. The bowling has gotten kinda expensive over the years though. I'm just going to review the arcade area. I have not played the arcade for a while and it seemed that they switch some machines. The arcade looks really decent. Just be aware of some of the machines since they either don't work or won't start properly. The ones where you see coins from the glass cost over 10 Big Al points, which I think it's called. I later noticed that there were many people in line to shop at the arcade to trade tickets with items. So the staff had to let only certain amount of people in it rather than everyone going there at once. On top of that, there's not really much going on in the arcade in terms of variety. Some machines are similar to each other like there are three of them that make you push down the lever to earn points. Staff should shut down some machines and replace them. read more

My family and I went here on a Friday night for fun and it was unexpectedly crowded. I guess other families also had the same idea and I ended up having to park near the Best Buy because the parking lot was so full near the Big Al's. My sisters and I visited the arcade first where we browsed all the arcade games available: Mario Kart, fighter games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, basketball games, Connect Four, Temple Run, etc. There were so many to choose from and it was easy to see how someone could spend hundreds of dollars on these games in one night. We ended up putting $10 on four cards and played the games that interested us before heading over to the restaurant portion of Big Al's. The restaurant part of Big Al's has a sign that asks to wait to be seated by the host, but there was no host and we ended up taking two booth seats near the entrance so we could easily spot if other members of our parties arrived. Once our full party came, a server came by to move us to different tables for no discernible reason. We ordered a shared platter with mozzarella bites, fries, onion rings, chicken wings, and chicken tenders and two dips although none of the dips came. We also ordered the family sized nacho platter. All the food was just okay, nothing to write home about. The chicken wings were a bit burnt and the nacho cheese wasn't melted properly so everything was just congealed together. The service was a hit disappointing especially because the restaurant was only half full and there seemed to be not enough staff to take care of all the patrons. We went back to the arcade because the bowling lanes were closed off for a corporate event. They really need to have one or two staff walking around because there was different games that were malfunctioning because balls were missing or some other error. Some of the games were very fun, but the ticket exchange rate is awful and anything worthwhile in the rewards shop is probably hundreds of dollars in games. I probably wouldn't come back. read more

Giovanni was at the front desk and I loved his curly hair, his sparce fierce mustache, and the build up to an amazing time bowling, because what was told would be a 20 minute wait, turned into not texted back, and I love playing hard to get. The bartender Enrique had a stern and rough mystique, and I love that because I don't want to always assume that a bartender is there to accommodate your needs, but rather make me work for it....ie....playing hard to get . So if you are of the mind, where you don't want things to operate boring (smoothly) then this is the place to be. Big Al's does not disappoint. A sports bar that you shouldn't visit for the really important games. Picture this. FIFA World Cup semifinal game. Line starting before the place opens at noon, and a fully packed bar. Did the management prepare for this with more servers extra staff? Nope. We get in at noon. And they took our order 20min later ( the ordering machine ran out of battery). Understandable, but hey! We got the drinks order in, beer should come out soon right? Nope. 60min in. Half time over. Absolutely nothing. Not even water. And a waiter who just cannot notice the most obvious calls from the table. They seem slammed, so I head down to the bar to order my drinks myself. A more senior waiter is there telling me the bar is backed up. Asking me why did I even expect to get anything even an hour after entering the bar? I should be an idiot for thinking that. But don't worry, She'll get everyone some water for the table. 90min since we sat down. No water still. And drinks? Of course not! Though the table next to us already got their second round of beers. Parched, I just walk down to the condiments station and start filling up glasses of water to bring back to my table. And Lo and behold, that pushed them to get the water to our table. And shame on us for pushing them. Don't we see they have a packed bar and no foresight to hire extra help? By now, the game is almost 75% done. The table next to us takes pity and offers us fries. We politely decline, as they ate sharing a single burger and fries among 4 of them. But bless their hearts. They are the real MVPs here. By now, the game is almost up. Our table's waiter finally come by, and we ask him to cancel the wings. Oh! But they put the food order in. Now, we care more about calories than the brilliant goal scored on screen. We ask him to just get whatever food is ready in our order, and cancel the rest. He comes back and lets us the know the kitchen has no idea what food is made for what order, and how can we expect him to figure this out? Can't we see the place is slammed? But you know what, he will get our drinks at least. Victory! Almost 2 hours after we sat down, we finally get 4 beers served. And of course we have to basically gulp them down and leave within the next 10 minutes. And enjoyed the best burgers ever at In'N'Out opposite. So would I go there again? If it's just a mid game that I want to kill some time watching? Maybe. If it's a big game I'm looking forward to and plan with a group ahead of time. God no! Are we stupid? Tried to reach out again since the owner asked and still nothing. So that says a lot, no wonder the service was handled with little to no care, that attitude is coming from the top. First the good: food was good in my opinion. Everyone was happy with their meals and quality. Game room was fun and kids had a great time here, overall pretty tidy throughout. It was pretty dead on Father's Day when we came in but I can imagine how busy it can be and there are lots of activities in as a whole. Bummer that game cards don't let you have tickets for games unless you upgrade it? It was our first time here so maybe something to do with them being free as a bonus to something else. No biggie, kids had fun playing and that's more important. Unfortunately that's where the positives stop. The Bad: service in the main dining area was rough, and that's putting it nicely. I did privately message the business but it seems that only respond publicly. We came in on Father's Day for the first time. Got a young lady with dyed red hair as our server. She couldn't answer any questions about the menu, my mother in law was asking how many wings on the sampler to see if it would be enough (which is not stated in the menu) and a few other questions, all met with "I don't know". Ok whatever, nothing to fuss about. But the problems kept coming. Everyone got their food, she never brought the kids drinks, didn't check back when food got there until having to be flagged down. The whole time, she was within sight but busy chatting with the bartender and coworkers. When we brought up the missing kids drinks her attitude shifted like we were the problem. Had to flag her for beer refills, drink refills, she never asked if anyone needed anything when she did come by to drop things off and she would literally drop an item and zip away before anyone could ask. We weren't high maintenance but when you don't even bring things we asked for to begin with, like yea, we're going to ask for them. The worst part is, when my mother in law got up to use the restroom, which has her walking past the host stand, there was our server bad mouthing us to the hostess, not discreetly at all. She was saying that we're acting like she's not taking care of us. Girl, you aren't! Basic service is not being met when you're not at the least bringing people's drinks or checking on us without having to be flagged down. Especially when there's barely anyone here. She just stopped coming by and we had to flag someone else down just to pay and be done with it. It really is a shame because we did like all other aspects of Big Al's. My in-laws drove all the way out from Visalia to spend the day with us there and the grandkids and to have to overhear your server talking trash so openly is just wildly inappropriate. We weren't copping an attitude, being rude or short with her. Please and thank you for everything, but if people asking you for things is a problem, or you're going to take offense instead of accountability, then maybe service isn't your thing. And management should really address the professionalism or lack thereof. Visited on a Saturday night for a team volleyball dinner and bonding after a long day of games. The parking lot was packed, but it's clear this is a go-to destination. Similar to Dave & Buster's, but with a cleaner and more refined vibe. The large arcade area kept the kids entertained, and the multiple bars and TVs made it perfect to catch all the games. The restaurant is first come, first serve, but even on a busy night, our large group was seated quickly. The menu has something for everyone. Their famous nachos were massive and a hit--easily feeding six adults as an appetizer. Fully loaded and incredibly flavorful! The chicken Caesar salad had the perfect balance, and a family-size pizza fed a dozen hungry volleyball players with no problem. They also have plenty of seating space outside with cozy fire pits, making it a great spot for an evening hangout. This venue would be perfect for a party since they also allow private sections to be closed off for special events. I'm honestly surprised to see this venue only has 3 stars. Our experience was excellent from start to finish, and it's a great place for family, friends, or team outings. Whether you're looking for fun arcade games, a night out, or a place to catch a game with drinks and great food, this place has it all!
