He is a man with golf knowledge and a lot of integrity. Lessons with Sean have been a very positive experience. He is prompt and very patient in his teaching. Our teenage son decided he would like to try out for the HS golf team at orientation. With no golf experience, Sean took a 14 year old teen and helped him achieve his goal of making the team. I know his success is a direct reflection of the time spent with Sean. His attention to detail and communication are wonderful. He is pretty techy too and sends us video swings of our son so we can see the progress. Overall, a great golf coach and man! Can't make reservations for mini golf, and depending on the time of the day the parking fills up and you end up in the overflow section. Those are really minor downsides. Their online reservation system can be confusing when there are changes after the online reservation is made for something such as a senior discount. In order to get a simple $12 refund, it took me 4 phone calls and two in-person visits over a period of 3 weeks. One or two people said they'd refund to my credit card; nothing happened. The next person said they don't refund to credit cards, but instead would "give me a credit to my golf course account". Never happened. The next person said they don't give credits to golf course accounts and they'd refund to my credit card. Nope. I finally happened upon a person (by sheer luck) who said they'd take care of it and actually did; a refund to my credit card. The funniest part of this particular episode was that one of these nice people at the front desk told me it was much better to reserve by phone rather than on their website; read on.... Recently, I called for a next-day tee time . 4 people. 10:50AM. Next day. She said, "perfect". After I repeated my name for her a couple of times she said, "perfect" again and promptly called me by a different name. I corrected her and she said, "perfect". She claimed to make the reservation for 10:50AM the next day as requested saying, "perfect". I asked her to repeat the reservation time. She said 11:50AM. Not perfect. She said she corrected the reservation to the correct time, 10:50AM. I asked her to repeat all of the details and she did. I said, "perfect". I hung up, retaining some doubt about her competence. I waited about 5 minutes, logged into my golf course account, and the tee time showed11:50AM, not the 10:50 AM time she had so perfectly claimed to have scheduled.. Not perfect. I called back, hoping to get a different person, which thankfully I did. She said she would correct the reservation but the 10:50AM time was unavailable. I had to take a different time. The golf course is fun. The employees who administer the golf course: not even close.

The course is very nice and well kept I will say, but if you're a beginner like me I would go to more chill and welcoming courses. Everybody I interacted with here was either rude or didn't seem like they wanted me there. Our tee time was 7:30 and was showed up to the box at 7:30 so running a little late I understand that's bad on my part. Every other golf course I've played at so far has been super nice about things like that, either having people go in place of us or combining us with a group or something and not making us feel too bad about it. The lady that was Marshall this morning was unbelievably rude, yelling at us to hurry up even following us down the whole first hole telling us to hurry up in the middle of our backswings even. That definitely set the mood for the round, we eventually let the group that was behind us play through anyway so the Marshall could have done that from the beginning and maybe been a little nicer. Overall actually a fun course to play I just won't be coming back.

After being a member for several months, I am dropping my star rating to a 3. One of the reasons…read morethat I was looking forward to this club was that I could work from here and then get a workout in. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi is so spotty, down more often than not, that I can't imagine being able to do any kind of work from the club. This also makes it challenging to use any kind of app which requires Wi-Fi in order to track your progress when you're lifting. The second reason I dropped my star rating was because there are a number of machines, for example the large cable machine in the main workout area, that are missing most of their weight stickers. Unless you are familiar with the weight progression of that specific machine, you are guessing at what weight you are actually lifting. Final issue, the attachments for the cable machine over in the room which has the Astroturf are very worn. A few are missing the rings to even connect and people have tied knots into the strap in order to make it work. These may seem minor but for the price you pay for a membership plus the sign-up fee, I would expect these little things to be easily taken care of.

After trying out multiple instructors in the Portland area (Redtail, Pumpkin Ridge, Rock Creek) and several others in the US (at least 50 hours of total instruction), Golftec stands out to me as one of the best setups for a golfer looking to improve. Michael's approach on the game is multifaceted, not just how best to swing a club. We go through swing mechanics on an indoor simulator and apply them during playing lessons on-course. Short-game and putting lessons have been the weakest part of my game, but now are a more confident part of my game. Instruction on strategy and course management has dramatically increased my percentage of hitting greens on approach shots. Michael's engineering background, his deep knowledge of the game, and his passion for instruction helped me better understand my golf game. I now am better equipped to self diagnose and fix day-to-day adjustments in my swing. The facility also allows for indoor practice on a simulator which is key for off-season improvement to ready for the new season. The video recording/playback in the practice sessions allows you to see whether or not the swing mechanics taught during lessons are being implemented during practice. This feature has increased the efficacy of my practice sessions in a way I couldn't have imagined previously. I can write another page worth of praise for Michael and Golftec, but it's just easier for you to try it yourself. Go in for a swing evaluation; it's $95 and it's likely you'll walk away from that session with actual solutions that work rather than YouTubing/Instagraming a fix that will cause more problems than it fixes.

After our round, I returned to the clubhouse with my two daughters to request a refund after we were unexpectedly told we had to rent an additional set of clubs. This was confusing, since we've shared clubs in a foursome before without issue -- and the group ahead of us had only three sets as well. When we respectfully pointed this out, we were met with sarcasm and rude behavior from the staff member at the counter, Collette. It was an uncomfortable and unnecessary way to end what should have been a great family outing. I submitted feedback right after the experience, hoping for a reasonable conversation. While I did receive a reply, it was disappointing. Instead of acknowledging the poor customer service, the response focused on defending the club's policy and implied that we were somehow disrespectful in requesting clarification/refund. The tone of the response made it clear that the blame was being placed on us as the customers, not on the way the situation was handled by staff. I'm only posting this now because my direct attempt to resolve the issue respectfully went nowhere. Since then, I've read through other Yelp reviews and noticed several similar complaints about rude or dismissive staff behavior. Unfortunately, that seems to be a trend -- and one that long-time customers like us can't ignore. Summerlin has always been a favorite course, but this experience left a lasting impression -- and not a good one. I hope they take the growing customer feedback to heart and focus not just on enforcing policies, but on how those policies are communicated.

Which not only makes me feel sexualized, but also feels like harassment. I've always followed, and respected the rules of the course based on the golf rules posted. This was not only embarrassing for him to yell in front of multiple people, but also a bit unfair considering nothing is posted on their website regarding skirts.... Additionally, I bought this golf skirt on Amazon and have worn it to many other courses in the area. It unfortunately feels like another opportunity for men in golf to try and embarrass / police females who try and get into the sport and discourage them from coming back. Women do not want to be sexualized on the golf course. We are there to play! I'd suggest some training for the employee to learn how to appropriately address any issues he has, in a way that isn't embarrassing for the individual who is singled out, along with updating the online attire policy to include no golf skirts. You cannot change the attire rules based on the structure of a woman's body (curvy or flat). And you definitely should not have such an unprofessional way of notifying people who are unknowingly breaking the rules.
