There was never a complaint when I asked for something to be done the way I wanted it (example was lining up the tile seams on the wall with the seams on the floor). Just make sure you are there for them and communicate exactly what you want. 2-way communication is key to success with any contractor. One stand out situation that was handled well was a mix-up in the grout color between wall and floor. To their credit, the installers asked me what the colors should be before going ahead with the install. Good thing they did since the documentation had them swapped. If they had not asked it would have been a disaster; but not because of them. Thanks for confirming. Scope of our project was 2 full baths (new: tile, vanity, counter tops, lighting, mirrors, ventilation fans, shower doors), dinning room (new French Doors), 4 bedrooms (with closets and new ceiling fans), wood flooring (replacing carpet), and crown molding throughout. House age is 27 years. Location: Rockville Town Center. The result was a completed project to our liking on time and within expected budget. Quality of the work is very good. Workers don't smoke, show up on time, are pleasant to work with, sealed off our living space from dust, cleaned up every night, and get the job done with the minimum of disruption. One contractor flaked and called the morning of the appointment saying he couldn't make it. He suggested we do a zoom consultation. When I asked how he would get the measurements, he said it was "just" a bathroom and he didn't intend on doing sketches anyways. His condescension made me cancel everything with him. The second contractors was nice, but had a high estimate, then suggested we purchase low end materials to save on the cost. He gave us the estimate right away, then pressured us to accept it right then. He offered a $1K discount if we agreed before he left, but what's $1K on a $32K price tag,so we told him we had 1 more contractor to meet with. And then there was Mr. Luis. He came in with a smile, removed his shoes and actually listened to all my concerns about my current bathroom and my dreams about my future one. He took his measurements and then repeated back the things I said I really wanted. There was no pressure and he said he would contact me in a few days with an estimate. It took him about 4 days to get back to me. Not only was his estimate significantly less,but it also came with a computer generated rendition of my bathroom space from multiple angles. I had sent him some tile patterns I liked, and he had them in the image, so I could really visualize my new bathroom. He did the rendition 2 more times with different tile patterns I sent him to help me choose the one I really liked. I also want to note that he could've easily charged more because I told him I thought it was going to cost $40K when he came to do the estimate,but he still gave me his honest price. We set a date for work to start after I paid a 33% deposit. His team, led by Mr. Wilson, were punctual and really respected my home. They draped wherever they needed to walk and they walled off my bedroom with plastic so dust and debris wouldn't get all over my living space. Mr. Wilson answered all my questions and kept me updated on everything being done each day. He assisted me in buying some of my products. His team kept everything very tidy when they left each day. He was a dream from start to finish. The 2nd deposit was due when the tile install began. Mr. Carlos did all of the tiling himself. He gave his professional opinion about the tile I chose for the shower floor, which led me to use the same tile as the shower walls and honestly, I like it better. The bathroom was completed in 2 weeks. The last deposit is due upon completion. When all the work was done, they polished and cleaned the entire bathroom AND several surfaces in my bedroom. They wiped down and dusted the TV stand and fireplace (both in the sitting area outside of the bathroom). They had only gotten a small amount of dust on them from the construction, so I just planned to dust when they were finished,but they did it for me without me asking. They also wiped down the bannister as they exited. As a mom of 3 kids under 5, I appreciated that more than they know. I've had people work in my house before who were neat, but I have never had a team clean up after themselves as thoroughly as this one. I'd also like to mention his office manager, Ms. Gigi, handled the administrative side seamlessly. She also answered all of my emails promptly. I absolutely LOVE my new bathroom and I will definitely use them for projects in the future. Anyone looking for honest and skillful contractors should use this company.

This review focuses only on the attic master suite build, which we have recently completed. DSP Contractors and its owner Marcelo Palma were referred to me by my long-time realtor. I have hired many, many contractors in the past and I can say with complete confidence that DSP is stand-out firm. I have never been so happy or so comfortable dealing with a contractor and I really don't want to work with any other firm after dealing them. Marcelo is not only a highly skilled and tasteful contractor, but he also has the kind of interpersonal skills and commitment to customer satisfaction that you hardly ever find in a contractor. Throughout this long and stressful project (we are living in the house with two toddlers throughout the renovations) Marcelo and his team have really been our family's trusted allies. DSP is a family company and Marcelo's brothers perform much of the work themselves. It was very clear that the whole team was personally invested in the success of the project. They were always on time -- in fact, they always pulled up 15 minutes early then waited politely outside until the clock struck 8am. (They would have preferred to start 30 mins sooner but agreed to push back their daily start time so that we could have some peace and quiet while getting the kids ready for school every day - just one example of the many courtesies that DSP extended to us to make the job easier to get through.) Everyone on the team was pleasant and helpful, we never had anyone in the house that the kids didn't recognize, and the job site and house were kept spotlessly clean - which was no small feat, because we had to rip holes in the walls from the attic to the basement for the support posts and new insulation. We had many, many compliments on the cleanliness and quality of work from the city inspectors. During the course of the renovation Marcelo spent hours of time with me as we tried to figure out how to modernize and make extensive structural adjustments to a beautiful historic home. He spent days trying to find the least obtrusive pathway for our ducts, for example, and never hesitated to rip something out and redo it when we felt it was needed. I do not consider myself an easy client to work with - I am very particular about everything, and am very directive about how things should be done. Unfortunately, I also often get it wrong the first time, and Marcelo was extremely patient when I asked for changes (and was very fair about pricing those change orders, as well). I insisted on purchasing just about every faucet, tile, appliance and fixture for the house myself, and Marcelo and his team were truly generous in helping me select items and making them work. (Many of the plumbing fixtures, for example, were ordered from Britain and arrived with the wrong-sized connections, which required us to stop and re-start work as new parts came in, and Marcelo never complained or charged me extra for his plumbers to revisit the site, which I thought was extremely kind of him.) In fact, I had many opportunities to be appreciative of Marcelo's team attitude when it came to problem-solving. For example, the architect I hired made an egregious error in our plans to insert structural support posts from the basement to the new third floor dormers; an error that required Marcelo to make expensive and time-consuming changes. But again he did this without any complaints and while minimizing the time and inconvenience to me. Marcelo was also extremely flexible and gracious in agreeing to work with an electrician that I preferred to hire (because 've used him a bunch of times in the past and he gives me a great discount) rather than his own in-house guy. I am extremely happy with the results of this project. I've included three photos of the work - one shows the gorgeous master bedroom shower that DSP built into an existing skylight, and another shows a skylight that pulls out to form a balcony in the bathroom. The third photo shows one of the two dormers that DSP added to the attic to create the master bedroom - this really doesn't do justice to the tremendously difficult dry-walling and detail work that was done around a dozen structural beams to create a high-ceilinged, arching room. The amount of time and care that DSP devoted to this work (and the trial and error involved in finding the right look) were truly impressive. My family is continuing to work with DSP as we complete our renovations, but I think so highly of the company that I did not want to wait to write this review.

Messaged a few contractors here on Yelp for last minute projects we were looking to get done before…read morewe rented out our townhome, and Jose from Hernandez Contracting was the first to respond to my message. He was able to come by our place on the same day for an in-person quote and after deciding that we wanted to work with him, he was at our place ready to work the very next morning! He said he was able to come by to start work at 9am the next morning, but he was there not only on time but a bit earlier by around 8:30am! We had started off with 3 projects for him, which he quoted us for, but I ended up asking him if he could do more little projects, and he was able to take on anything we asked of him. He's awesome, he was even so respectful to take off his shoes when he worked inside our home. The projects he was able to complete for us was: 1) carpentry work in our garage (to secure some previous work done before we bought our townhouse, there were some unsecured wooden pillars barely holding up a wooden built-in storage shelf). Jose even told us how he would make it even more secure by adding more pillars where it would hold more weight on the shelf and be more secure; 2) filled up a hole in our wall, he was able to patch it up with drywall and matched the exact paint and by the time he was done and paint dried, you would never have known it was there! 3) he installed a new storm door for us, our previous storm door had a broken door handle, and Jose was able to install a brand new storm door that we had purchased, he even made sure that the storm door we bought was the correct measurement. 4) Jose installed new hardware on our kitchen cabinet doors, they were all aligned! He took the project off our hands. 5) upon request he was able to fix our closet door that wasn't aligned properly, so it didn't shut! When we bought the house it was like that, Jose fixed it! 6) he glued & aligned some wooden pieces coming off that were framing our attic crawl space. 7) he went above and beyond to find some new window screens that we couldn't locate locally, so he drove to another state to look for it the very same day! He wasn't able to locate it, so he ordered the correct sized window screens and installed them as soon as he could after it came in the mail! He was able to get most of the work done in just 2 days! Minus the window installation, which was done as soon as possible, once he special ordered it and after it arrived! His preferred payment method is through Zelle. Jose is an amazing handyman! He is punctual, very reliable, kept his word when he said he would come by and do our projects, and did great work in a timely manner. I would recommend him to family & friends, and we will definitely work with him again.

GE Construction made my vision for my kitchen and dining renovation come to life! This was not an…read moreuncomplicated renovation. The wall between the kitchen and dining contained duct work for both the dining room and upstairs, plumbing was done to the code of 1960 when the house was built, and previous owners/flippers did things in slapdash ways that made the process harder than it needed to be. But at the end of the day, what I sketched out came to life, and beautifully! Andrii and his team worked with all the things I really wanted out of my kitchen (including using existing appliances, so they had to move them around the space a lot while working, and some fancy stuff that is non-standard including that crazy butterfly sink that you see in some of the afters!), worked to bring things current (like moving plumbing off exterior walls, so I no longer have to worry about pipes freezing), and got it done. A total transformation! The price was middling among quotes, and I felt it was a great value since I got quality work and didn't have to do much (like ordering stuff...Andrii always had someone who could get things at a normal/retail price without me doing it). Job completed around our "contingency" finish date, which was only one week more than the "we hope to finish by" date, which is really good for a project of this scope. I am very satisfied, and if I didn't drive them crazy, will be using them for my bathrooms in a few years!

So, David smoothed out the walls, plugged the holes from the old mirrors, and repainted. CHECK! My mailbox had the gangster lean so he put in a new one. The winds have not been kind to my shutters so he secured them all. AND, the fascia around the garage was rotting so PVC was used for replacements. ALL with time to spare! Thanks again!
