Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and greeted by our waitress right away. Our drinks (water with lemon) arrived quickly, which was a nice touch. The dining room was clean and comfortable, though the atmosphere itself wasn't particularly memorable, aside from my lovely view of the countryside :-) We both ordered the Chicken Tortellini Alfredo. I chose the Caesar salad as my side, and he ordered the chicken and rice soup. The sides came out quickly. My salad was fine, but the soup was extremely bland and tasted like something straight out of a can. The breadsticks arrived after our entrees. Unfortunately, they weren't very good. They looked, smelled, and tasted like frozen breadsticks. They were dry and cardboard-like, and even the marinara sauce didn't help much. They were slightly better dipped in the Alfredo sauce. When our entrees arrived, we noticed an inconsistency despite ordering the exact same dish. Mine came with a very heavy layer of melted cheese on top, while his had none at all. I usually enjoy extra cheese, but this was excessive. That said, the Alfredo itself was flavorful and enjoyable. I added red pepper flakes for a little extra kick, but the dish was good overall. One other point of confusion: the menu describes the dish as including either meat or cheese tortellini, but when I asked our waitress, she said it only comes with cheese tortellini. Overall, the service was prompt and friendly, and the entrée was the highlight of the meal. However, the bland soup, disappointing breadsticks, and inconsistency between identical orders left room for improvement. read more

First time at this location and was pleasantly surprised. Service was friendly, quick and attentive. We got started off with breadsticks and marinara sauce. Nothing crazy or out of this world. My friend got the wings and said they were amazing 10/10. I got the eggplant parm which came with a side of salad or soup and I got a salad. There's a few different options of salads but I got the Greek and it tasted just how it looks. I was pleasantly surprised with the eggplant parm. The portion was big (lasted me 2-3 meals) and was seasoned well. I would get this again. read more

Very nice place for casual dining. It was Sunday so there was a short wait time. The server was very attentive and offered meal recommendations and made sure the drinks were always full. The server was prompt remove any dishes that were no longer being used at the table to keep the table open which made for a very well experience. The atmosphere was great, the restaurant is beautiful. The restaurant appeared to be clean and the restrooms were clean and clear of clutter. Would definitely recommend stopping by for an Italian meal, this locally owned restaurant can beat out the nationwide chains with service, a great selection, and a good value. read more

The wife and I took a chance and stopped in to try it out. The food was very good. I ordered the "Tour of Italy". My wife had spaghetti with meatballs Service was a bit weak but the food was delicious and came quickly to make up for it. Price was very reasonable I felt for the meal served. The greeter / hostess seemed angry and actually seated my Husband and I at a dirty table - we both refused to sit there and moved to another table ! We came in from Vegas to visit family and had the opportunity to eat here. The food here is amazing. We got fried pickles, pizza and fettuccine. All options were reasonably priced especially considering the portions. I usually don't have enough to take leftover, but in this case we left with three containers. All the food was full of flavor, fresh and much needed on a rainy day. Our server was Autumn who I think deserves special mention. She was polite, knowledgeable, quick and kept our table clean, our drinks full and smiled the entire time. Highly recommend ! read more

I didn't go into this restaurant with high expectations, so I wouldn't say I was disappointed. The waitress I had was very nice and checked up on our group very often. The only reason this is not getting a higher review is because the food took forever to come out. I mean I know I was a big party but still, it was 45+ minutes because we had food out, and the breadsticks took a while as well. The food is fine. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes you have waitstaff that is friendly and helpful, other times they interact as if they'd rather be anywhere else but there. Curbside pickup signs are posted outside but they don't respond or bring your order out when you follow the curbside directions posted outside. Been coming here for years but will likely stop. So my GF had her BD party, a party of 18 ppl, over here recently & I have to say it wasn't a pleasant experience at all. To begin with the waitress, god knows she was trying and it's not completely her fault, but as she took the orders she didn't take them in any type of order just random so when the food was ready she didn't know who ordered what. It truly was chaos. Once we got our food, I had ordered a pizza bc afterall it's an "Italian" joint and goes on about how good the pizza is. But once everything came I almost cldnt eat it bc apparently the pizzas come frozen & tbh it tasted like rubber. It had zero red sauce and very very few toppings. We brought 3 pieces back home only to toss them away. It was bad I wld not recommend the pizza at all. AnywayZ, after the meal was over the waitress collected all the bank cards to cash everyone out only to lose mine! Yes, she lost my bank card! It created pure unadulterated CHOAS! She had no clue where it was. So everyone is informed in the restaurant & is asked to look down around their feet. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! It wasn't until I walked into the kitchen by myself and started to look around tht I eventually did spot the card laying directly by the garbage can. Everyone let out a sigh of relief & the waitress came up and hugged my neck and thanked me. It was bad. To be fair tho it's not so much her fault as it is the establishments fault for not properly training her to do her job. She was doing the best tht she cld. With all the CHAOS tho, they shouldn't have charged us for our pizza bc they lost our bank card BUT they did. It's ok. One last thing, the party was seated in the very back & for whatever reason they went ahead and seated regular customers in the very back as well with all of us. I know tht it was probably an unpleasant dinning experience for them bc we were being pretty loud. Bc it was a bd party afterall. So much tht I went up and asked the couple sitting directly next to the party if they had asked to be seated back here with us to which they replied No, not at all Thts just where they were seated. I proceeded to apologize for the loudness and kids running around and they were very nice & said np ya know but I know tht it wasn't a good time for them. All in all the total dinning experience was very very BAD. I GIVE this visit a 1 bc they LOST MY BANK CARD! I mean, who does tht ya know. Plus the food was subpar. It was not good. Good little restaurant near the Cumberland Gap - it started off with breadsticks and marinara sauce, neither of which were great (the breadstick was not flavorful, and the sauce did not have kick). The gyro and vegetables that I had though were pretty tasty. The portions were plenty generous as well. The restaurant was very clean, the service friendly, and the background music was a propos for an Italian restaurant. Not out-of-this-world Italian/Mediterranean food by any means, but I certainly would come back here and recommend it if driving through. read more

This restaurant has food that tastes good but isn't anything super extraordinary. A good family sit down atmosphere with friendly staff. I will say I have gone back multiple times for their dessert, as their cake slices are very big and delicious. I've had The Sampler, 7 Sins, Red Velvet and many more flavors of cakes as they have a large assortment. This is a Italian restaurant near the beautiful Cumberland Gap National Park. The restaurant is nice and clean but the service was just average. We tried the combo platter for an appetizer which was overcooked and too greasy. For dinner we had the tour of Italy with lasagna, manicotti ,chicken parmesan and spaghetti with meat sauce,I'd have to say it was just average for an Italian restaurant. All my friends told me the pizza at Gondolier is better than Oasis down the street so I went with it. You get free breadsticks if you dine in! There is tons of space inside so you can bring big groups. Come here for PIZZA though, their calzones, gyros sandwiches and pretty much everything else on the menu aren't that great. Breadsticks & sauce were brought to us as we sat down. They weren't fresh from the oven but tasty, nonetheless. We got cheesecake to go. We love eating here. I love your ribeye steaks rare. You are the only place that has ever gotten my steak right. I love the blood still seeping. You have never let me down. Excellent place to eat. We ordered a side of alfredo sauce and that was definitely the biggest disappointment. It has zero flavor. Seems like heavy cream and some butter and that's it. The pizza was super greasy and the salad was like any other salad, plain. I dont think I'd come here again based on the food we had today. We were up in Cumberland Gap on a trip on the week of 8/17, and came in STARVING. We had the pepperoni calzone and the Grecian pizza. They were both buttery, rich and delicious. Plenty and plenty of cheese...I mean LOTS. Excellent flavor and it was very fresh when we got it. We ordered curbside to go, which they absolutely nail. The lady I talked to and the one whom delivered it were both incredibly kind and helpful. My wife and I scarfed it down like hungry dogs, so I didn't pay too much attention to the presentation ha! In town for a college visit and have never been to a Gondolier restaurant before. My daughter and I couldn't have had a better experience. Our server Lexi was so friendly and attentive. The breadsticks took the edge off while we paged through their huge menu. Definitely something for all tastes. We were feeling pasta though, and my chicken carbonara was spot on delicious! My daughter loved her chicken Alfredo and foresees many future carb comas from indulging here if she chooses to go to LMU next year. We ended the evening by taking home a piece of the White Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cake.... it was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. Good food, very, very poor service. My girlfriend and I just ate there for lunch. We each ordered 10 wings, hers were hot and mine were mild. She also ordered the Gondolier Super Sub and I had the Gyro Platter. The wings were good, but a little on the small side for wings. More like winglettes. She ordered her sandwich hot and add mayo. The sandwich came cold and dry as a bone. Not an ounce of mayo on it, Not a packet of mayo to be seen. I had no problems with my Gyro platter. It was excellent and I highly recommend it. But that was after a 30-40 minute wait for the food to come to the table. We had a great time just laughing and conversing with one another, but seriously, for a sandwich and what amounts to lamb on pita bread it should NOT have taken that long. What made matters worse was the waitress never came by to check on us during the wait. Finally, I turned my wheel chair around from the table and sat looking toward the kitchen. Coincidentally within 2 minutes our waitress shows up to tell us our food would be right out. Didn't ask if we needed refills on our water or diet coke (we did and it was obvious). I had to politely ask if she could please refill our drinks. She refilled my girlfriends water and diet coke. I guess they figured the 1 glass was enough for me... At any rate, if we ever order from Gondolier again it will be curbside pick up. Never stepping, or in my case rolling into that restaurant again!! read more

**Update** I went back last night and tried the pizza. Surprisingly good! Loved the fresh crust! This place is really good. I've only had pasta dishes so I cannot speak for the pizza but the pasta is hot and well seasoned. The menu has a nice variety. I called the restaurant over six times on December 31st 2021 around 6:30 pm. The person answering the phone repeatedly would pick it up and then hang up. Since my wife and I were visiting the area for New Years. We decided to try them for a dinner to take back to our hotel. Since we have three small dogs with us . We didn't feel right leaving them in a stra place while we enjoyed our dinner. Needless to say we never got to experience their food! Nor do we ever want to experience it now! Very friendly service and we were seated, had our beverage order taken and served homemade warm from the oven breadsticks very quickly. The food was very tasty.
