We had a dinner circuit with friends of local eateries and this place landed on the shortlist. DellaSantina has been open for several years and recently added a pizzeria that is completely separate next door. It is away from from the beaten path of the Smokies and they recommend reservations for dinner. Open at 3pm, I called and he gave us a 6:15 time which worked well on a slower Wednesday. The entrance gives way to a nice bar area with a few TVs, booths and white linen tables. We each settled on a bottle of Sangiovese and Pinot Grigio and the mussels appetizer and bruschetta. Our waiter Andrei was professional and prompt. We decided to have a glass of wine and enjoy conversation and our apps without ordering our entrees and expediting the occasion. Andrei checked back several times and kept our waters full and was very patient. We settled on clams fettuccini with a white wine butter sauce and my lady got the mussels in the same sauce. It was a garlic lover's delight and I'm certain I'll never be a vampire. We enjoyed the setting and the atmosphere was relaxed. A liquid dessert pour of tequila and whiskey settled us and we skipped dessert although it was tempting. Overall the prices were a bit higher but the service was excellent and our meal rang true. It was a great first impression and we had leftovers. It will be added into our rotation and look forward to trying other pastas and seafood. read more

The Frutti di Mare is phenomenal!!! We happened upon this wonderful location by watching "Adventure is Out There" on YouTube. Totally off the beaten path, and so worth it. Just when you think you're lost, you arrive. The Focaccia bread that is served really good. Suggest getting marina as opposed to olive oil for dipping. The meatball was nice sized (big enough to share) and marinara sauce was really good. The Frutti di Mare was suggested by our waiter Anthony (very knowledgeable about the menu and offerings) to use white wine sauce. It was a great suggestion. The ingredients were obviously fresh and the portion size was easily shareable. We shared a Tiramisu. And let me preface that my wife has never liked this dessert. But the YouTube review swayed her perspective. And she loved it. You can tell that it's a labor to make (we talked to the owner's wife and she concurred). The only negative would be due to personal preference. The Caesar salad dressing didn't have anchovies. It was lemon forward and good, but it's just something that we like. read more

We were here for the weekend and decided to give this place a try, and boy were we pleased! From the focaccia that was brought out at the start, to the end it was all great! Family owned Italian restaurant was not what I normally put on my dining list when I'm in the mountains but I'm glad I did. My choice was influenced by herring their seafood is flown in 3 times a week. My wife chose the Lamb chops that were melt in your mouth perfectly done. This was one of difficult places to get reservations at the last minute. We enjoyed the food, loved the idea that it was all organic ingredients. The ambiance is nice upscale Italian. Outside feels like nothing and there is a pizzeria by the same name but don't get confused and come into the restaurant instead. We enjoyed ravioli, salad and soup of the day. Kids pasta didn't turn out as great for some reason. Kids really loved to find a new drink Limonata (San Pellegrino makes these - it is lime flavored soda). I love coming here whenever I am looking for Italian near Pigeon Forge! I would say it is the best Italian in Sevier County. I usually get the Ceasar Chicken Salad with a side of Alfredo pasta. I used to do the reverse, but the Alfredo can be rich for a larger main. It is so delicious! It is a very secluded restaurant, and I feel like if I wasn't looking for it I wouldn't have found it. But the service has always been quick and we have had good luck getting a table when we arrive. It is small restaurant, but has a very intimate feeling. We ate here for the first time today. The bread was complimentary and it was delicious. I had the shrimp fettuccini, the shrimp tasted like it was fresh and the Alfredo sauce tasted homemade to. The portion was nice, I ended up taking about half back home. My son had the chicken parmigiana and his eye lit up when the waitress sat it down. It was a very generous portion, and it was arranged neatly on plate. I had to try the pasta sauce on his, it was delicious. It didn't taste like anything out of a jar. They had a great wine list, the drink special today was a chocolate Dubai martini. I did not try it but they offered quite a few specialty drinks. With the food, you could receive either salad or soup. I had the Ceaser salad and the dressing was great. My son had Minestrone soup, and it was also very flavorful. Went to DellaSantina for deep-dish pizza. Ordered by phone , staff taking order and the person at the counter were very professional and polite, had high expectations of the food. I am not a deep-dish expert but ha e had many in my travels. My expectations were nit met, the pizza flavor was good but tasted like it was a frozen pizza ( i have had Chicago deep dish shipped from Giordano's overnight) and it was barley warm when i hit back to hse (10 min away). The pesto was fresh and obviously made in house. The mussels were tender and the wine sauce was creamy with a very delicate flavor. We also had the spumoni ice cream and the lemon marscyepone cake. Both flown in from a bakery in Italy and it shows. I have rarely been to a place in Tennessee where the hit all the notes and this place does. It's affordable for a restaurant of this caliber, the decor is nice, and the food is some of the best Italian food I have ever gotten from a restaurant. But again, when finally mentioned they reduced the price of a dessert. The pastas (alfredo, and Valentino rigatoni) were good. Starters were not good, bruschetta and the caprese, the mozzarella was not tasting fresh or soft. The mocktail I had (mango) and cocktail (elder flower one) was good. Prior to the elderflower my husband tried the old fashioned which was not at all good, but they were gracious enough to exchange it. Tiramisu was just eggy, and pistachio gelato was not good either. Restaurant is a little off beaten path from the busy streets of Pigeon Forge but close enough to make it worth your efforts to experience a great local spot. We had been seeing the owner post about this restaurant for at least a year on various Facebook pages but we live over an hour away so it's pretty far. We were in the area for free movie tickets so we thought we would try them out finally. My hubby is Italian so he's pretty picky and we've had pretty bad luck in Knoxville, even at the top rated places. First off, the server, Lexus/Lexis (sorry, I don't know the spelling) was fantastic. On the ball, friendly, but not overbearing. We went early at 5 so it was still pretty quiet which is what we wanted. Place looks like it's under construction outside but inside it is very nice. Classy but casual. You could come in business casual or jeans and a T-shirt and feel at home. All of the sauces are homemade which is great and the dessert is made in house too. We had the caprese which came with homemade focaccia bread and it was great. Nice portion too. We shared the chicken Parm for dinner and we still took home the entire pasta portion. It was huge. My hubby said the minestrone soup (although lacking any pasta) was the best he's ever had and each individual veggie was cooked to perfection for its type. I'm obsessed with tiramisu so we finished dinner with that and while one was big enough for both of us, it was perfection and we wanted more. Delicious food and great service! We pulled in after a very long drive from Detroit. This was the closest restaurant to our cabin so we stopped in on a whim for dinner. So glad we did! We both had lattes (vanilla and caramel) and they were great. The grilled chicken with rigatoni and meat sauce was excellent as was the Italian wedding soup. This is one of the best restaurants we've found in the area, we are in NE TN and like to try the non-chain private owned places. If you are within the Sevierville Dandridge Pigeon Forge or even Knoxville area, this is worth the scenic drive - and yes, you may pass it accidentally even with GPS! We had reservations for 7 people, for early in the day at opening of 3pm weekday, which we recommend if you don't like a crowded restaurant. Recommend reservations overall. Nice ambiance, white linen table cloths, flowers at the table, traditional place settings with nice linen napkins and Sinatra for background music. They have nice private "grotto" style booths for smaller parties, besides open tables. And great comfy chairs!! They have a substantial wine list, with full bar service and higher end liquors. Server was excellent, she made great recommendations. The focaccia flatbread starter is good with nice seasonings, olive oil is provided to dip if you like. We had the Calamari appetizer, which was excellent with a light batter, not "chewy", and the Caprese, which was simple and fresh and very good also. The waitress made sure to let us know that there are no anchovies in the Caesar, and the dressing was excellent, tasted very rich and homemade. Everyone at the table enjoyed what they ordered, and comment overall was that the alfredo sauce was excellent. The Frutti di Mare with white wine sauce was ordered, along with Clams in white wine butter sauce over linguine, Lobster Ravioli, Pollo Grigliatto (Chicken with pesto), spaghetti with meatballs and a side of the hand cut fries. Everything was fabulous, fresh chopped garlic and butter in the sauces and fries seasoned just right. Then we got desserts, things got real, and ended up asking for another "Triple Chocolate" cup because it was delish! Had the Tiramisu, and the Lemon Mascarpone cake, all very good, but the triple chocolate cup with hazelnuts crush was fab! During our vacation in Sevierville, we had extraordinary luck in choosing local area restaurants, and the streak continued with Ristorante DellaSantino. We were out for a 'country drive' and stopped in. The restaurant is part of a strip mall(?) with other shops that appear to have the same owner. The owner of the business greeted us warmly and graciously answered our questions while we waited for our server to arrive. DH and I were pleasantly surprised that Ristorante DellaSantina was a white tablecloth-type place, well decorated and authentically Italian. After a few great recommendations, we shared toasted pita, salads, and entrees that were delightful. DH had a garden salad and I had Caesar; the greens were fresh and crisp and didn't taste like a bag. DH had a fettuccine alfredo that he was quite pleased with and I had Frutti di Mare. I was transported by the huge scallops, shrimp, and muscles in the dish; all tender and cooked to perfection. We elected not to have wine only because we were unfamiliar with the area and driving in the dark. Greeted warmly and seated expeditiously. Wonderful server explained the menu and specials since being our first visit. The focaccia bread was just simply scrumptious- complimentary with meal. So good in fact, we sprung for another basket for a small cost. We also had the bruschetta for an appetizer- so very good! We then enjoyed fresh salads, both the garden and ceasar salad with fantastic house dressings. Finally the entrees, my hubby had the lobster ravioli with alfredo sauce and I had the daily special, four cheese ravioli with tomato basil, which were both excellent! The inside was very clean and had a great relaxed feeling. They bring out flat bread and the table has olive oil, Parmesan, salt, and pepper to make a dipping sauce. It was really good and warm.
