We came here to see the trumpeter and tundra swans and we weren't disappointed! There were dozens upon dozens of them, on the different bodies of water, throughout the park. We also saw egrets, a couple of blue herons, a nutria and several different duck species. While walking down one of the paths we noted several garter snakes. We are looking forward to return with our grandsons, they will love it here.

They say they are Cherokee, that is untrue. This is a white, non-Native family who around the late 1940s sold curios and did "Indian" performances for the unknowing tourist trade and also at large events like the Pendleton Round Ups in Oregon. Eventually they settled in Ariel, Washington, evolving their act along the way. This white, non-Native family is selling and performing their own mashup of several cultures. Very little is authentic. Making friends with the James Aul Sewid family of Canada does not give them the right to claim their art is Native American here in United States. This family pulls in grants, profit, and prestige through their fraudulent activities. There are 29 federally recognized tribes in Washington state alone. The Lelooska family group is not a member of any of those tribes, or any other. So what they perform for all those countless school kids on field trips, for all the adults, is a rather rude disheartening sad folly.
