My appointment was today at 1:00. I arrived at 12:50.....I sat, and sat! I finally left at 2:35pm as I was NO WHERE close to it being my turn!!! There were 5 people scheduled at the same time. One poor woman had been waiting since 11:15...and hadn't made it to the chair yet! Yet she took phone call after phone call just chopping it up with whomever it was that was obviously more important than her paying customers! What a lack of professionalism! Such a complete disregard of others time. Completely unacceptable! read more

Just had my first appointment with Stephanie today and WOW! I will definitely be a regular customer. She started right on time within the 10-15min window of my appointment which is phenomenal considering how most salons stack their clients and make you wait excessively so I very much appreciate her respect for our scheduled time! The shop is super cute, clean and professional. Very mature and chill vibes here with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The lemongrass diffuser is an added bonus. This is a salon for the grown and sexy lol. But seriously though, Stephanie was gentle and patient with me as a first timer in her chair and I'm grateful. When I looked at my hair for the first time for the big reveal after she was I done I was literally shocked at how good it looked! It didn't even look like my hair! I highly recommend her if you are looking for a new stylist as I can not say enough good things about her and how she handled me and my hair from start to finish. I went here today. I booked online last minute. I was grateful I could get in. I booked via Vigaro. It was two separate appointments. I arrived at 12pm only to be told my appointment was at 1pm. I came back at 1pm. I was not in the shampoo chair until 1:30. I also had to wait until the stylist finished another client. I really wanted a good wash & trim. The end product was okay. flat with no flare. I left at 4:45 & for me that is too long. The salon is in a nice location but it is small. I thjnk the stylist there lack some professionalism: like being on time. I was told a number of times that they focus on "high end extensions." I feel like the service I got was okay but definitely not exceptional. Also they are on the higher end price wise. It served the purpose I needed wash/trim/flatiron. However, I can't say that this is a place I would make my go to spot. read more

Steph did an amazing job. She was also very resourceful. She had a pack of hair available for me when I knew I'd run out. Here are some things I noted: 1. She educated me as she did my hair. 2. She worked well with my natural hair including steaming. 3. She used thread instead of synthetic hair taking note that it dries out my natural hair 4. I called this morning and asked if they had any appointments. They said I could come at 1:30. I arrived at exactly 1:30. It was after 2:30 before they did anything to my hair. Having to wait an hour before the stylist comes to get you should have been my clue that I should have left. However, when I got in the chair I explained that I wanted a hair cut and some color and I needed a relaxer. I showed Stephanie multiple pics so she could get an idea of what I wanted the haircut to look like. She said she would do the relaxer and then take a look at my hair. I clearly told her I had a sensitive scalp. Yet, when she washed my hair she grated and scraped my scalp nonstop, so did her shampoo girl. My scalp was already irritated because of the relaxer and all the scratching they did. So when they put the color on I knew it was going to burn. But not only did it burn, she once again scraped my scalp forever rubbing in the color. This was the most painful relaxer and color I have ever had and I have been getting Demi-permanent black color for over 15 years. They constantly sat me down with wet hair while they worked on other people and sat me under the steam multiple times. I saw countless people who arrived after me come, get their hair done and leave. I sat there from 1:30 and was not done until 7:45! That's the length of a shift at a part-time job. And Stephanie never apologized for the wait or acted at all like someone shouldn't be in a salon for 6 hours and 15 minutes!!! I have never received such poor service before in my entire life and I've been getting my hair done since I was 12. I was the last client to finish, when again, I had arrived 6 hours before that. I don't know if she decided to take her regular clients and make me sit there or what the case may be. Because the last client she could have blow dried my hair and curled it, but instead she spent over an hour doing micolinks on this client when all I needed was a curl on my cut. And about my cut, the style she did wasn't anything like any of the pictures I showed her and I didn't like the haircut at all. I had to come home and restyle it myself and I will wait for my hair to grow out. And as I sat there for over 6 hours and watched a ton of clients come and go in and out of the shop, I wasn't impressed with anyones hair. This woman does a mediocre job and kept me there all day. I left the house at 12:48 pm and didn't get home until 8:40. Not to mention, you can't call what they have a shop. It's one room where they have 2 styling chairs. There's 1 shampoo bowl and it's so tiny that you often had to move your feet so someone could get by. The woman cleaning up the hair hit my feet when trying to sweep up the hair. I had to move chairs about 7 or 8 times as they shuffled us around from the shampoo bowl, to the chair on the wall or one of the stylist chairs. There's no waiting room. Simply a bench outside the tiny room where they style hair. Do yourself a favor and never, ever go here. You will spend hours of your time, as they don't value your time, and probably end up with hair you don't like. By the way, it's now 11:28 p.m. and my scalp is still burning and likely will be for the next few days due to all the irritation. Take your money and your time elsewhere. By the way, although they spray and wipe chairs and bowls, if you keep people in a tiny room for 6 hours, that's still not good with regard to covid-19! You shouldn't be in a confined space with people right next to you for that long! read more

I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH! I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH! I have not had my hair professionally done since May because I refuse to settle for what I really need and want in a hairstylist. I have come to realize that I like one person working on me at a time, (no color person, no shampoo person, none of that.) I don't want to be handled like a piece of meat going through the inspection process and I have always been serviced by a single stylist in her own salon since childhood. I have decided that I need to return to my roots. After an extensive internet search, I discovered the Gone Girl Hair Studio which is owned by Stephanie Carr. It is a solo salon inside of the Phenix Salon Suites in Buford, GA. Yes, I said Buford because it is not about location, it is about having a better experience. I was able to make immediate contact and get an appointment on the day and time of my choice. I prefer to get my hair done as early as possible so that I can avoid traffic and just get on my way. Finding the salon was easy because it is located in a major shopping center with Stein Mart. The salon is intimate but very comfortable. I like the idea of just having the stylist all to myself so that there are no disruptions or distractions. If I suddenly remember something that I need to address, I don't have to wait until she makes the rounds to her other clients also being serviced. I can simply ask. Stephanie has been a professional stylist for approximately twenty years and can do all phases such as, color, relaxing, weaving, natural styling and more. Why settle for half a stylist when you can get a whole stylist who does it all? She did a great job of cleansing my hair with natural products, (no sulfates or parabens), giving me a trim and nice silk wrap. No products were added to my hair and light heat was used when drying and finishing. My hair feels great, has movement and has great styling options. As I was preparing to leave, I was given a gift bag that contained several hair care products and a stylus. I absolutely look forward to returning in the future. Highly recommended. **EXCELLENT PRICES!! Great for college students and the budget conscious. No competition in this area! 11/16/2016 Okay, you know how you have to settle into that "new do" and sometimes you check it out and realize that things aren't quite right or you didn't quite get what you wanted? Well not this time! I remember telling her that I needed my hair "cleaned up" and I did not give specific instructions because I did not know what I wanted and I felt confident enough to just let her go. She respectfully asked if I wanted to keep my length and I said "No, the health of my hair is more important". I heard snip, snip and it was done. A week later I still can't stop touching my ends because I did not just get a "dusting" this was a very precise cut and when you pull it up, those ends are on point and feel like silk. My husband likes to touch it and say "It's sooo soft". He's right! This treatment was way over due and I just wish that I had found Stephanie sooner. I have already talked with my daughter about getting her hair done here. As I stated previously, it had been several months since I had been to a salon and I am so glad that I waited to find the right stylist for me. She was definitely worth the wait. read more
