Tea #1
Hwal L.

The location being next to Days Inn may seem odd and I almost couldn't believe there was Gong Cha in the Capital District. Our overall experience and first impression is positive, with some reservations. Their green tea is legit, but the oolong, although brewed perfectly, may have been a different type than we're used to because it quickly lost its appeal after a few sips. The boba was a big letdown because it was falling apart as if it had been soaking for a long while, and it definitely detracted from enjoyment. Service is quick and friendly, but the there's something about the dark, industrial decor that, once again, detracted from the experience. I'd go back, and I expect boba to to be spot on.

While the service was quick and friendly, the boba tea was nothing to get excited about, and the price was just stupid. $18 for two teas, + tip and tax is insane. It's cheap enough to buy the pearls, sweetened condensed milk, and Thai tea, and to make it myself. I was impressed with the sealed top and straw combination. That made it spill proof and handy for driving with it, which I did appreciate.

The GOLD standard for bubble tea. You walk in and choose your size, level of sweetness, level of ice, and toppings. The standard level of sugar is 70%, but I normally do 50. I can't say enough good things. The creme brûlée tea is . So creamy. Yea here is made fresh, not powder. Service is also great, takes only a few minutes. Inside of the building has a couple tables. There's also a sushi place attached, so two lines- one for tea and one for sushi. It's more of a coffee shop vibe than a restaurant, I normally just grab and go. Would highly recommend

THE BOBA GODS HAVE HEARD MY PLEA!! I'm beyond excited to find that a shop that specializes in boba has opened up in Albany and that the quality is what I'd expect from Gong Cha stores in other places. My Creme Brûlée Brown Sugar Milk Tea was the perfect amount of sweet, salty, and rich (note: I did get it at 50% sweetness though). You can taste that they're using good teas rather than powder in their drinks. I'm looking forward to going by here many more times, this is definitely going to be a favorite of mines :)

Great for Albany area! Next to SUNY Albany. Finally instead of saying let's get "ice cream" after lunch or after dinner... we can now get boba drinks. Our drinks tasted just like what we can get in Boston, nyc, etc... so I'm happy with this place. They also have a small little sushi menu along with fried tempuras. They have their own parking, less than 10 spot. We definitely will be back.

Great place, close to UAlbany campus and if you're from the city you'd know this place very well. Anyone that's from Albany or hasn't been here before, they specialize in drinks and they have different variety of drinks including Milk Tea, Green Tea, Slush, etc. They are very customizable and you can decide to add extra toppings (price varies) The service was great, everyone is friendly. The drinks however are okay. There are better options for same if not cheaper price. We've tried lychee jelly iced tea, strawberry milk tea and Taro Milk tea. They werent bad

It took me a bit to get used to how to order, but the staff were very helpful with the process. Both the dirty brown sugar milk tea and the creme brulee strawberry latte were so good! Will definitely visit again.

The staff are very friendly and they make their fruit teas / matcha lattes very well. Just wish they had more toppings like red bean. :)

Employees were insanely rude. Also the stores ordering and pick up system needs to change. Makes it very confusing for customers.

Wow! I waited over a week to visit this place because they were sold out of most of the desserts…read more They're so popular, and the owners take their time making new desserts. They have tea, but I wanted cheesecake. The cheesecake was excellent! You order online or at their kiosk inside. It's best to keep checking online to see if the desserts you want are in stock yet, if they aren't, they're listed as sold out. The ube cheesecake was creamy, sweet, with cream. The triple matcha cheesecake was very good, tasted like matcha, and best if you don't like dessert too sweet. Each piece of cake was around $10-11 would be nice if it was bigger, but it's great as it is because it's dense. It's so cute inside! Service is fast! Highly recommend!

First up, I ordered the Jasmine Tea with Matcha foam and coconut water. This was a super refreshing drink and I am already wanting to have it again. Second we grabbed the Ube Milk Tea float which was a super pleasant taste, ordered with 0 percent sugar which kept it at a perfect level of sweetness. The ube milk tea float comes with a scoop of delicious ube ice cream on top. The service was super friendly and inviting, and the inside was really cutely designed.

Busy day running errands. Feeling hungry. No time to get home for lunch. I'm passing Taichi Bubble…read moreTea & Ramen. It's a Taiwan-Asian fusion-inspired fast food chain but I was down for this. It's been more than a year since my last meal here. I don't know if they changed their menu but I experienced a bit of a relearning curve in ordering ramen at the front counter. First, I needed to pick a broth. I chose Tonkotsu ramen, which is ramen in Japanese pork bone broth. Then, I needed to pick a protein which was shrimp and I asked for the meal to be extra spicy. It only took a few minutes. I could hear it being prepared in the kitchen. The young woman at the register was helpful and patient as I made my selection. Definitely convenient. The ramen was good. I got a lot of shrimp and I liked the little slices of fish cake with pink flower designs. The decor has undergone slight changes since I last visited. It seems there are better displays and more varieties of merch. It's still very clean, bright and cheerful. There are still plenty of young customers. Given its close proximity to SUNY Albany that should be no surprise. I liked the playlist, too. R & B and Hip Hop played in the background. Loud enough so that you could definitely hear it but low enough so that students who were dining--some in groups-- could comfortably hold conversations. I didn't plan to come here but my stomach growled. It was a nice, relaxing lunch that hit the spot.

Wow- this might be the worst poke we have ever gotten…read more The interior is beautiful, clean and bright, too bad the food wasn't. We ordered our dishes with two proteins- there was more cucumber than fish! I bring it up because I could actually count the 3 pieces of tuna and salmon in my bowl. The "wasabi" sauce is not only radioactive green but is 100% mayo- no wasabi flavor at all and SLATHERED all over the bowl. Service was great, but the presentation and the quality of food (especially for the money) is not worth it. Very disappointed.
