I really did not want to write this. I am a patient here. My…read morefirst visit was amazing. My second visit was very traumatic but with the help of a dents assistant (I forgot her name) I go trough the procedure she was so kind, caring and super helpful. The dentist that helped me and started my treatment gave me anxiety, she poked my lip and was very rough and put more numbing cream on my lips and numbed my entire face, I couldn't breathe and had a really bad anxiety attack to the point I went home and cried. My dads friend is a dentist (wish she was closer) and she was upset when I rid her what had happened. Anyways fast forward to today. My husband, my son and I had an appointment this morning but we left after we were treated with such disrespect from a front desk employee. She was arrogant, rude and extremely disrespectful and unprofessional so of course I lost it and went off on her left the office. To the owners of this dentist please work with your staff and make them take a class on how to treat ppl. Thanks

Important note: If you come here, I strongly recommend only seeing Dr. Rocky or Dr. Jessie. Also…read moreworth noting: Sandra at the front desk is wonderful. After being patients at Redwood Shores Dental for over a decade, my husband and I have decided to switch providers, and I feel it's important to share why. Our recent visits with the new dentist, Dr. Martinez, were among the most uncomfortable dental experiences we've had. She was rushed, dismissive, and physically rough. The fillings she did were left unpolished and uneven, and when we tried to raise concerns, they were brushed off with comments like, "You're good--you feel good." There was no pause to actually check our comfort or the quality of the work. It felt transactional, not patient-centered. During my appointment, Dr. Martinez and her assistant carried on a personal conversation in Spanish over me the entire time. I understand Spanish, and it was clear the conversation (about cars and driving in Venezuela) took priority over my care. It made me feel ignored and uncomfortable. When I later called to schedule a visit with Dr. Rocky to correct the rough filling, I was made to feel as though the issue was my fault. I was also told he doesn't take my insurance, which was confusing given that the work needed correction. After being rushed through an appointment and left with a poor result, the response felt dismissive rather than accountable. We also experienced repeated issues with the front office. Despite clearly explaining multiple times that my husband and I share the same insurance, staff insisted they couldn't find my information and suggested it was likely "under my husband, since usually the husband insures the family." That assumption was incorrect, sexist, and frustrating. To be clear, Sandra has always been excellent--but our interactions with newer staff were consistently disorganized and condescending. After more than 10 years with this practice, it's disappointing to leave under these circumstances. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because patients deserve to feel respected, listened to, and well cared for.

The staff at Birch Dental were very nice and helpful. Dr. Fong is very nice and very gentle when examining and cleaning my teeth and explaining my situation to me. All in all it was a positive experience for me to go there.

I was seen by Dr. Chang on August 10, 2020 and had one of the worst experiences. Due to COVID -19,…read moreI was rescheduled three times. I understand having to reschedule due to the pandemic, however, my experience as a customer during this unprecedented time was very unpleasant. The following events took in place in order for me to see Dr. Chang as a new patient. 1). I was assigned by my HMO United Healthcare a new dentist effective January, 2020, which was the Birch office. 2). I called the office on January 10th 2020 and Patty answered the phone. I mentioned that United HealthCaregave me this number to make an appt for my dental cleaning. Patty responded saying they were unable to schedule me at this time and that she would check with the dentist and get back to me, which never happened. 4). I immediately called my HMO United Healthcare and asked them to call the Birch office for clarification because Patty refused to make an appointment for me. 5). I called again on the same date and Patty mentioned that United Healthcare called on my behalf and preceded to takemy insurance and make an appointment. You can imagine my frustration considering I just called and she turned me away. Since Patty mentioned that she was unable to book my appointment previously, I asked her to call me when I am able to book. Patty never called. 6). Since I never received a call from Patty, I decided to go in person on February 7th. I asked her to take a copy of my insurance she was refusing to book my appointment and she took my phone number instead. She still never called. 7). She finally booked the appointment on August 10th and since I had experienced such bad customer service with her and had not received a confirmation call or email, I decided to call and confirm myself. When I called to confirm my own appointment Patty then decided to mention that this visit willnot be just a cleaning but also an examination and X-ray visit since I am a new patient. I was happy to have an appointment but also would have liked to be told this in advance since we had been going back and forth for a few weeks. 8) As I got to the Birch office on my scheduled appointment date, I completed all the forms and was taken to a room to do my x-rays. Dr. Chang appeared behind me and put his hand out to shake hands without a glove. I immediately felt uncomfortable not knowing who else this doctor shakes hands with, without a glove at his office, especially considering the circumstanes we are in current state. 10). After my X-Ray, Dr. Chang asked me to wait for Patty to tell me about the conclusion of my examination. I was very surprised to hear that I needed a lot work done in my mouth including a deep cleaning, multiple crowns, and many cavaties, (see attached forms.) I have never been told for 50+ years that I have needed this much work done. I am religious about my teeth cleaning and go 3x a year. I got a second opinión from my other dentist and was told I did not need ANY of the recommendations Dr. Chang gave me. In short, do your research, not only does Birch Dental haveawful Customer Service, (Patty did not even remember me going in, which is odd considering I had spoeken with her multiple times before my appointment) but I would not trust the recomendations they offer. I am extremely disappointed with this Dental Group and reported the incident to my HMO
