This is probably the worst taxi service ever! I called for a taxi 3 times waited over a hour taxi still didn't arrive! Don't waste your time with them, Get yourself a prepaid card & use LYFT or get a Uber or LYFT gift card. I wish I read the reviews about this car service, however, I have to point blame to the OMNI staff since they recommended this cab company to me. I needed a quick lift to the airport and when I got thier the cab driver explained to me that he did not take credit card. Then he contacted the dispatcher who was the most vile, incoherent woman, ever, what a bad example of the Hispanic community. She began yelling at me telling me that I should have told her I was only paying credit card? WTF? I have never been in a cab that only took cash in my life and I travel frequently. This is my go-to taxi service when I am leaving my house and need a taxi. Their main offices are less than 5 block away, so there is rarely, if ever, a wait for the taxi to arrive. I called this morning at 5:40am for a ride to the train station and the driver was at my door less than 5 minutes later. Yes, the drivers can drive a little scary. But I can't say that I have ever had a taxi ride (regardless of company) that felt as safe as having my safety-first-Grandfather driving. The taxis from Gonzales that I have been in have all been clean (read: like it had the interior detailed moments before I stepped into it) and smelling fresh (read: no cigarette smoke). I will continue to use them again and again. I appreciate their clean, comfy cabs and super prompt service. I do wish the drivers wouldn't constantly be on their cell phones. read more

Called from In. @2:30a to schedule a pick up for my daughter from her dorm to the airport. He answered quickly, was awake, courteous and professional. He called to let my child know he was running 5min. behind. Her pick up went as discussed. She was happy he took the hi-way and didn't take his time to run up her fare. She made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. She's satisfied and so am I. I'm glad Campus Police gave me the number for this company. Will use them again when she returns in the fall. Call them if you want to play Russian Roulette with your life. I didn't use their services; however, I was on the highway today, and one of their assmunch drivers was driving 40 mph. I move over to the other lane, and he cuts right in front of me again and I had to slam on my brakes! I switch back to the other lane, pass him; and guess what----he's on his CELL PHONE!!!! Called for a cab to the train station. Told the driver I would be down in a few minutes because I was on the third floor and our elevators are exceptionally slow. He didn't even wait 5 minutes! I tip very well especially on short runs and I travel a lot. Big mistake! read more

Never again. This is the second time I've used Gonzalez. The first time, they told me 15 minutes and didn't show until 45 minutes after that. The driver was SO rude. He talked in Spanish on this cell phone the whole time and drove like an idiot. Slamming on his brakes, etc. He flat out ignored me when I suggested he take a short cut to my house and when we got there, he sped off before I could even close the car door! This was a while ago, so I decided to give them another chance. This time, the phone rang about 17 times before a very rude woman with very poor English picked up. Before I could utter a sound I was immediately put on hold. For 10 minutes. When she picked up again, I requested a cab from my address and was told to call back in 10 minutes and then she hung up on me. Don't ask me why I called back, but when I did, I was told "I don't got nothing." and hung up on again. I'm done. I'm never calling them again. read more

Bad service. Reason why I do not use it. I ordered it for a hispanic friend of mine whom always take this cab. But the receptionist is always eating and with a bad attitude. People do not know who they speak to be disrespecting. I am really offend and feel disgraced because this taxi service is from my country and I hate when people put my country's name down. A cab for this company ( license plate 1102) just parked next to me at the DMV in Cranston, the woman in the back seat opened her door and hit my car and just looked at me and then got out of the car with the man in the front seat and went inside the dmv. I called from an apartment complex in Providence that's quite pricey. My Range Rover the battery was no good. I've got a second job based on tips so I tip very well and I made that known. Very rude attitude on the phone, and I was hung up on. I was super polite but the only thing I asked for was a time because I am in a rush. If they treat a customer that is very polite and made it known that they're going to tip very well then I cannot imagine how they treat other people in different areas of Providence. read more

This is from the perspective of a user, not someone who has encountered their drivers on the road. I've found Gonzalez to be prompt and reasonably efficient -- as much as it's reasonable for me to expect, at least. When they say they'll have someone at my door in 5 minutes, they do. Their drivers know where they are going, for the most part (in contrast to about 50% of Providence's drivers...) and get me there efficiently. They also are generally good humored, not cross about a small fare, willing to wait, etc. The taxis aren't limousine-standard clean and tidy, but clean enough. As a back seat passenger, I haven't yet had a white-knuckle ride. If I'm downtown and want a cab ride home, I'll actively seek them out because I know I'll get where I'm going without having to give block-by-block instructions or have someone get lost. Do I wish that they didn't chat on their cellphones endlessly? Absolutely. That said, the drivers I have had have all either used some kind of headset and/or have been willing to hang up when I have asked politely. I do wish that they didn't honk to announce their arrival, phone me before someone is out front to demand that I'm out there waiting, and that the English-language skills of drivers and switchboard staff were a little better. But then I remind myself that this is a taxi company and not my persona chauffeur service. read more

Rudest, most ignorant cab service. A few times a week when it's after 10 pm, ie 12..1..or the wee hours of the morning (I don't balk if it happens during normal hours, because I suppose it could be considered acceptable), I look out the window to see who could be LEANING on the horn, and inevitably it's Gonzalez cab. Why they simply don't have a policy of drivers using cellphones to call fares, is beyond me. It's unbelievable how inconsiderate they are. Call to complain, like I have 10 or so times, and let it ring the 100 times it takes to pick up, then be put on hold 2 or 3 times, then ask if the dispatcher speaks English, and he hangs up on you.
