The experience began with the Fireside's well-loved brunch, which felt relaxed, festive, and perfect for a Sunday outing. From fresh pastries and fruit smoothies to a generous buffet featuring chef-carved meats, Eggs Benedict, breakfast favorites, and a Bailey's Irish Cream cheesecake for dessert, brunch was a highlight all on its own. The matinee performance of A Wonderful Life captured everything audiences love about the classic story of George Bailey and Bedford Falls. The live musical stayed true to the heart of the film, celebrating kindness, community, and the reminder that every life has meaning. . The service throughout the afternoon was outstanding, and special recognition goes to Keegan, whose hard work, attentiveness, and professionalism truly stood out. Most of all, I enjoyed making a new memory with my family. The afternoon felt meaningful, joyful, and unhurried--exactly what a holiday outing should be, and one I would happily return for again.

One ordered the Steak Diane and the rest of us ordered the butterflied shrimp with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Everyone enjoyed their orders along with two excellent breads; crispy crusted white and a maple nut bread that was especially tasty. The dessert was ice cream rolled in nuts with a sweet rolled wafer, and it was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. The show was a mix. At times it was fun, with upbeat songs and good jokes that landed well. At other times the humor fell flat and dialogue went low. So the rating would be a 5 for the food and venue and a 3 for the show. Will definitely be back, as it's always a good experience.

The listening room is cozy but the setup is nice and the acoustics are good. Drove up from IL because of the concert. The place is lovely, with a cool, quirky vibe. Got there early for eats. It was a Monday - they were open only because of the concert that evening, therefore the menu was very limited. The only reason I chose to eat there at all was because they referenced in their ticket confirmation email that food and drink was their bread and butter, so I wanted to oblige them on that score. The pasta was so so. I went as a single female. I'm pretty sure I was the only solo flier there. This is, to a large extent, a place where everybody knows everybody. I felt out of place. I've been to a number of concerts etc. on my own in the past and typically meet people that will chat and engage you. Not here. That was disappointing. The strangers I met at McDonald's and the gas station during the drive up and back were friendlier. Would not go there alone again. There is a screened porch that looks out over the river - this is where you are seated to eat. You can wander out there during intermission. The river. The river was very welcoming indeed.

Overall, underwhelmed with the food and experience at Plow. The restaurant is undergoing some…read moreconstruction so that may be a factor. We sat inside at a booth across from the bar. We were very close to the kitchen area. Their pizza oven is cool, I think I should have ordered pizza. We ordered onion rings and a meatball for apps. We asked the waitress if that was too much for an app and she said no but when it came out it could have been our meal. The portions are huge. Wish we would have known. The onion rings were good but the meatball didn't have much flavor. The waitress was nice and checked in often. Unfortunately, our app order was submitted with our dinner order so everything came out all at the same time. It's always a bit overwhelming when that happens and ends up being too much food to eat at once. It would have been nice to be spaced out, especially with big portions. I had fried chicken and fries and my husband had a pasta dish. Both dishes were rich so we didn't eat too much. The table behind us ordered the pizza which looked good! They do have an awesome patio and the night we were here they had live music with an outdoor bar. Great vibe! They have a great location right on the main street with easy street parking. We are not in a rush to return, however I think they have a lot of potential.

This said, while charming... sitting by the windows in the winter is a bit chilly. I had a rye Manhattan crafted with the local Dancing Goat distillery Rey... while I don't think this distillery is as of yet actually distilling- rather they are barrel aging their spirits... the manhattan was very good. The menu is not huge and that's fine. Big, poorly crafted menus don't really add to dining experiences. In addition to the menu several nightly specials were offered. I opted for one of them, a nice baked/broiled cod... actually seemed like it was pan seared in a French technique of basting with butter. In any case, it was very nice... I quite fancied it. I substituted a twice baked potato for the rice pilaf after seeing one being delivered to a nearby table. The cod was laid on a little bed of greens and came with reasonably portioned side of glazed carrots. My companion had the raspberry salad and was quite pleased with it. We did also start with an order of onion rings... also because I saw an order going out for service. Large, crunchy rings with a side of ranch... really quite tasty. Would I go to Plow again... sure, might avoid a window seat in the winter, and or go in warmer weather as it looks like they probably have a great patio.

The place is decorated well and has a great vibe. We were sat immediately. Can't say enough amazing things about our server. We all agreed it's the best service we've had in years!! They really pay attention to detail and are so personable. We started with some drinks. All tasted perfect. You are served focaccia bread before dinner and we could've eaten 5 bread baskets of it. So soft and fresh. The garlic butter was just the cherry on top! We ordered calamari. I only got a picture of the last two because we ate the so fast. Best calamari in Wisconsin. The oysters were super delicious as well! As good as Madison! Lobster bisque was super creamy and had adequate lobster chunks. I ordered the ribeye with onions and mushrooms. They are generous with the add ons! The halibut was amazing! It should be on the regular menu!! Well seasoned and not dry at all. This will be one of our new regular spots. It'll be nice not to drive to Madison everytime we want oysters :)
