Because of this pain I deal with on a day to day basis, I decided that I would finally do something that I had not done before as what I was doing for pain management for years was not working. I scheduled my appointment on-line and completed the preliminary paperwork on-line before the start of the appointment. In traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is based on the theory that your health depends on the flow of qi (energy) in your body. This energy travels along invisible pathways, known as meridians, that are found throughout the body. A blocked or disrupted flow of qi can have a negative effect on your physical and mental health. Acupuncture aims to restore the flow of qi by resolving any blockages or disruption. Prior to getting stated with my session, Jayme asked me about my background, what my pain points were, etc. This allowed her to get an idea how to best help me. After the conversation, Jayme began to place needles in various parts of my body for my session. With the needles inserted, I laid face down on a message table for about 20 minutes. When the needles were removed, I felt centered and calm. Literally, my mood was totally changed and the stress seemed to just float out of body. After my session was over, Jayme gave me the print out of my session and I scheduled my next session for the New Year. #bewellcentraltx

I don't know if I was just exhausted or if Lisa has magical hands, but I walked out feeling like a completely new person. She quickly figured out exactly where my body needed attention and adjusted the pressure and techniques accordingly. It honestly felt like she understood every tight muscle and nerve that needed relief. I left feeling incredibly relaxed, refreshed, and so much lighter. The ambiance was lovely overall. The only minor downside was that my room was close to the main entrance, so I could hear people coming in and out. We arrived just a few minutes before our appointments which were scheduled at opening. The receptionist (also a Massage Therapist) was there and waiting for our arrival. It is a small place with what looks like just 2 massage rooms. We were shown to our respective rooms and asked to get ready for our sessions. Shortly thereafter my Massage Therapist arrived. She did a great job with pressure and checking in to see if the pressure was satisfactory. By the the time she got to my feet foe reflexology, I was so relaxed I dozed off...maybe 3 or more times. The entire experience was relaxing and helped to alleviate some tightness/pain that I was experiencing in my lower back. I really enjoyed the treatment here and would consider coming back if I were a local.

I used to get massages on a regular basis but fell off the massage wagon. A friend of mine highlighted that she has gotten massages once a month for the last 14 years. I was definitely behind the 8 ball on massages. My friend's long-term revelation was eye-opening, so I decided to get a massage today with Green Care Massage, which is located on W. Parmer, next door to Tomo Sushi. My massage choice was a deep tissue massage. Those polls are not for curtains!!! When my massage therapist asked me could she work on my back, I thought, I said yes. What she actually said was can I "walk" on your back. In my head, I was thinking why do her hands feel like feet...because they were feet! Snappity, snap, snap...I was getting a full on Ashiatsu massage (also known as back walking massage or barefoot massage). If you are not aware, Ashiatusu is a technique where the massage therapist uses their feet to apply deep pressure while holding onto overhead bars for balance and control. The word "Ashiatsu" is a Japanese word meaning (ashi=foot and atsu= pressure.) Apparently, my back was so tight I needed Ashiatsu first. My massage beginning to end was incredibly effective and rejuvenating experience. From the moment the session began, it was clear the massage therapist was highly skilled and knew her craft. The deep, slow strokes and focused techniques worked through my knots and tight muscles, especially in my back and legs. While there were moments of intensity that you would expect with deep tissue work, it was never painful (pressure...no pain). Afterward my body felt like it had exhaled and breathing fresh air.... well worth the time and money. I could feel the tension evaporating with each targeted movement. It is important note, I felt soreness in my neck and back during the massage that I did know existed previously. After the massage session, I noticed a significant improvement in my mobility and range of motion. My usual stiffness had disappeared. I do not know if I will get a massage once a month, but I certainly will not wait too long before another one.

I always walk away feeling refreshed and relieved of pain. Nominal fee if you use credit card so I recommend bringing cash for payment. Highly recommend!
