This place is fantastic. I received a massage from Caren and it was, without a doubt, the best massage I have ever had. This is coming from someone who has been getting either monthly or weekly massages for the last 8 years. She really knows how to give you exactly the massage that best suits you. I have chronic back pain and she was able to target several areas that are constantly giving me issues. Some massage therapists I have to work through some pain before I get the relief I want but Caren's technique was relaxing the entire time. HORRIBLE management -- DO NOT sign up for the membership plan. I had them freeze the account due to having surgery, I could not have any massages. Then today it was auto-renewed $69 without any notice or heads up charging $99 for the year. I reached out to Tao management -- I did not authorize that. I reached out to management, they responded it's auto-renewed from being frozen. This is fraud/ due to unethical practice. I requested to cancel this awful membership. Never again! This place will never be successful due to their lack of proper ethical practices. NO ONE should ever have to deal with these kind of ppl -- life is so greater than that! Change of ownership ... i would not recommend this place to anyone . Very unorganized and unprofessional. The manager - Nancy does not know how to run this establishment . My husband and I came in 5 min late and apologize to the receptionist. She told us we were fine and had us fill out forms that took another 5 min. As soon as we got into our couples massage room, the masseuse Andrea mentioned they had to shorten our massage to 10 min as we were late . My Husband asked if they had an appointment after ours and they said no . She said she had " a meeting " with the manager Nancy . You would think her manager would be okay with 10 min to have exceptional customer service. Either way ... there are so many other salons that are highly professional. I would not recommend it . We also had 3 friends scheduled 2 hours after our appointment, let's just say they also cancelled. Responding back to your comment . No we did not receive a text message With forms and the other masseuse stated she didn't have a client either so please state your facts correctly . Again.. 5 min late and you can't accommodate that ? I have been to numerous massage salons that are much more upscale and professional with a 5 -10'min buffer! Good luck on your establishment . I received a massage here recently from Caren. She did an amazing job! Unfortunately, I had received a massage from another LMT here about a week prior and it was horrible. From my understanding she is no longer there. I almost canceled my membership but after trying out Caren, I decided to keep my membership active. I highly recommend her if you want a nice relaxing deep tissue massage. She is very knowledgeable and experienced. She listened to me and made me feel comfortable. I have not had a massage since the pandemic. I was dying for one. I NEEDED it and I needed it that day. So I looked around online for the next available time I could get in and Tao Massage had an opening that same day. When I walked through the door the receptionist was extremely friendly, informative, the establishment was clean, and everyone wore their mask. I read some of the reviews before I scheduled my appointment, so I chose Uma for a deep tissue massage since I read some positive things about her. I scheduled the appointment online and it was an easy process and I was able to chose an appointment on a Saturday afternoon (scheduled on Wed.). The massage was wonderful. I will be going back. At one point I was surprised because Uma climbed on top of me (gracefully) when I was face down and put her knees on my rear end, then moved down my legs. It felt great, though. And she stretched out my neck/shoulders and my legs, which felt amazing. It was different from any massage I've had before. The only complaint I have is that for about the first 30 minutes, I could hear everything the people in the room next to us were saying, and they talked and laughed the whole time (I don't understand why anyone wants to talk during a massage, it's supposed to be relaxing). So the walls must be thin. But I just tried to focus on the massage and tuned them out. The front desk person was really nice and friendly. The lobby and massage room felt clean. I was able to park right in front. There was only one other client in the lobby when I got there and when I left. read more

My husband and I came here while on our honeymoon and honestly it almost ruined our trip! 4 days later and I can still barely move because my back hurts so bad. She put her knees on my back and went really deep. We asked for shoulder/ neck and back massage but kneeling on my back is the only thing she did for my back. Not sure if she hit a muscle or what the hell happened but I can't bend down and I'm in constant pain. Luckily my husband is okay, but we both wish we had never gone. My hubby and I got a couples massage here during our honeymoon. After our experience, the only thing I can say is: that was interesting. We called the day of to see if they could squeeze us in. They said they could. I explained that we were on our honeymoon and asked if we could do a couples massage. They told us they could accommodate us. Cool. So we drive over there and their idea of a couples massage was putting us in adjoining rooms with the door open. Weird. The massage is nice. We are enjoying ourselves in our separate rooms. Couldn't believe how we were treated. My fiancée and I have been to Tao Massage a number of times. We always get a couples Tao massage and love laying adjacent to one another in such a soothing atmosphere. We will never go there again. We called to schedule an appointment today for this afternoon. They asked for a credit card to hold the appt and said they would charge it for a no show or cancelation. We both work in medicine so we understand policies like that, but we weren't sure if we could make this afternoon but still wanted to reserve it in case. The staff person on the phone ensured us that we would NOT be charged a cancelation fee because it was day-of and a unique situation. We ended up wanting to schedule for later in the week and immediately called back to postpone. After the same staff person said they would now need to charge us we were connected with "the manager." We've never experienced such a horrible attitude/treatment by a representative of a company. First, they said they "didn't have any record" of our past visits. In an effort to make us seem less knowledgeable, she asked when the last time we were in was. We said we weren't sure but it was a couple of months ago. She replied "I find it hard to believe you can't remember when you last came in." We wanted to continue loving this place so much. We will never go again, and have told our family and friends we have referred to stop going as well. It's amazing how the attitude and demeanor of one person can ruin the experience and reputation of an entity. read more

Andrea S was fantastic. I was able to get an appointment quickly. I told her I liked massages that feel nice and that I also liked massages that get deep into my muscles even if it hurt a little. I left it up to her discretion. My massage was a little of both but where she really worked deep it felt very medicinal and like she knew exactly where to touch to get out all of my kinks. As a new mom, she was able to pinpoint which side I held the baby on just by the way my muscles were tight. 10/10 would recommend if you go to Toa Round Rock. I give 3 stars because this has nothing to do with the massage therapists who are amazing and everything to do with their cancelation policy. Today I canceled my appt because I thought I had allergies and tested positive for the flu. Obviously I'm not going to go to a massage even if I felt up to it because that would be irresponsible of me. They are charging me a cancel fee. I'd get that if I made it a habit or I was just doing it for no good reason but I feel being sick with a virus that is contagious is a valid reason to not go to a massage. Also im a member so I pay 100 dollars a month to them regardless. This also happened last year when I had covid and canceled, they wanted to charge me the entire service amount and I called a day in advance. Now you wonder why people go to their appts sick. It's either that or pay a fee anyway. read more

I read the reviews. I know this is a chain but they really seem to care about their customers. The "menu" is varied. I used to get 30 minute chair massages when I used to work for the state. They offer that but they also offer more intricate kind of packages as you can tell from the other reviews. I too own a franchise so I guess this must be a similar kind of franchise concept as it seems to have a "personal touch". Definitely not the "McDonald's" of massage! I must admit if I did not have prior experience with massage I might have been like a "deer in the headlights" but the therapist kept asking me, "too hard, or harder"? So they seem to try to cater to all types of clients. I did go for my traditional 30 minute chair massage. Very good massage, I will definitely return! read more

Tao has always been good to me! I go probably every other month, when I'm feeling like I need it. But I'd go more if it was possible for my budget. They have recently changed management, and I have noticed no difference in service or quality. I believe they have online booking now, which is a plus! As for the massage, it's incredibly reasonable. As pretty close to $1/minute as you're going to find. I love that they do the bar massage here where someone uses their feet - it's great for a deep massage of legs or glutes. They do pretty much every type of massage here. Just be specific about what you want and you'll get it. Don't hesitate to say less pressure though - the ladies I've had are strong! Really great if that's what you want. It's my go to massage place, and I don't see that changing! read more

I've been to this location and the one in Cedar Park. All the staff is professional, personable, and efficient but not brusk. My last massage was with Brooke: my favorite so far. I like a basic Swedish massage that focuses on some specific areas and that was exactly what I got. I know that sounds easy but you'd be surprised how often I get a massage that is nothing like what I asked for. I will be back to see her for sure. read more

The massages were good and professional and the rates were great ($70 for 60 min massage, $105 for 90 min) but now the rates got jacked up 30% so that a 60 min massage is $99 and 90 min massage is $139. I had the best massage of my life today. No exaggeration whatsoever. I had a 60 minute deep tissue with Noc... she was INCREDIBLE. I went in for a kink in my neck from sleeping the wrong way a few nights ago. She was SO attentive to my specific needs, SO funny and sweet. She made me so comfortable! She asked if she could walk on my back and I said HELL yes .. they have bars above the tables so they can do just this! She hit all the right spots and then some. Great pricing with friendly service. My massage was okay. I have had better,but I was told by my partner after we left that she was talking to the front desk while waiting for me. The front desk told her that all the "best" and "most requested " masseuse's were out. It is possible that I may have had a massage from an inexperienced woman. Another downfall was that I did not receive my full one hour massage. I was cut short by 15 minutes. She also did not focus on where I needed her to focus, and I clearly explained the troubled spots. If I go back I will request someone with more experience for sure. read more

This was my first time here. I took my daughter., we are having a spa day before she goes to prom. The massages were very nice. They start with you covered and scan the body. Then they come back with the lotion and really hit those tight spots. My massage was a deep tissue and she really got in deep. I feel so much better, a bit sore but a good sore. My daughters massage was a Swedish, she says the pressure was just right. In the beginning it was a bit deep because she had to scan the body but my daughter loved it!! I've had two experiences with this business and will never return. On my first visit, I previously booked an appointment online for an certain service. I scheduled it to fit perfectly within my day. When I arrived the lady at the front desk seemed confused and told me the website sometimes isn't accurate (then fix it) and that the service I requested the masseuse wouldn't be in until over an hour later. What!? Why let me schedule is nobody is going to be there? She then tried to upsell me on a different service to pass time while I waited for the masseuse to get there. Ummm no thanks. I ended up literally walking around the shopping center waiting. Bailey (masseuse-best thing about this business) came early and everything was great from there. As a loyal small business supporter I again went online to make an appointment with Bailey. On the day of my appointment plans changed and I called Tao Massage to cancel since there was no link to cancel in the text they sent me. They weren't open yet. I get a call at 1010am from the same front desk person asking about if I was coming. I went on to tell her no, I got called into work unexpectedly and I tried to call but they were closed. She rudely and nonchalantly gave me attitude and told me a 24hr cancellation notice is required. I informed her that I am active duty military, therefore my time is not always my own and asked if there was a way for her to waive the cancellation fee. Again- with a rude attitude she abruptly told me "nope" and said she would charge the card on file. I am LIVID and will do whatever necessary with my bank to prove this charge is not valid. I then told her I would NEVER come back to this place! So between their crappy website and her poor customer service they have lost a customer! read more

As an active gym go-er/ mild sedentary job holder, it's imperative to heal your body periodically. She could not believe I had gone this long without being treated. I was able to get in here for a last minute (literally like 15 minutes before the appoinment) massage. I liked the space, it left me with a good impression and it was relaxing. I got a one hour tao full body massage which is a decent price. She used quite a different number of methods on me, she did the Ashiatsu which was a first for me....very different having someone walk on my back, not entirely pleasant but great for working out the knots. My neck was too tense for her to continue as she said that I would be too sore the next day so she just continued with the deep tissue massage using her hands (wow do those little Asian ladies have strong hands) and a series of stretching. She informed me I should take some aspirin, a long hot bath and not work so much since I was so tense....the life advice was free, but she was funny and I had an overall enjoyable time.
