Drew is fantastic! He knows dogs, what they want, and what they need. My newly-adopted Lab didn't know how to walk properly with a loose leash, and was surprisingly uninterested in playing with any toys. Drew walked with him for a few minutes outside, figured out why we were having trouble walking, and taught him how to walk nicely. More importantly, he taught ME how to continue teaching my dog so we will get better and better at having happy, relaxed walks together. Then we went inside and I asked him to help me understand why my dog seemed bored by toys. Drew tempted my Lab with a few toys and my dog was, as usual, uninterested. Drew explained that he thought my dog was indeed interested, but there were reasons he was reluctant to engage. He described what the reasons were, and how he thought they could be addressed. Then he carried out his plan. Five minutes later my dog was happier than I've ever seen him, enthusiastically fetching and retrieving a squeaky toy, opening up a whole new world of pleasure for my dog and me. And again, Drew didn't just teach my dog a new trick, he taught ME what I needed to know to help my dog learn and grow. Then he stayed for long past the appointment's scheduled time to fully answer all of my many questions about raising my dog. I cannot imagine a better person to have in my corner to help me develop a strong and loving relationship with my dog. His terrific attitude, positive teaching style, and obvious love of dogs complements his knowledge, experience, and obviously sincere desire to helping dogs and their owners be happy together. We came to Drew through our son who himself is a knowledgeable dog person. Drew really likes dogs and works hard to calm the dog to the point where he can be trained, and then works with the dog so he obviously doesn's feel forced to learn the lesson. Drew himself is relaxed and patient working with our dog, and waits forLouis to learn and accept the right pattern. This is important with Louis, a standard poodle pup, who is very active and needs to be tired out quite a bit before he is ready to work. Drew works by example, not lecturing, although he enjoys giving a running commentary on both his actions and the dog's reactions. Drew is a FANTASTIC trainer who really knows & loves dogs. I had spoken to several trainers in the area, and they all seemed to have less than a few years experience, but Drew has been working with dogs for years & it shows - he met with me & my dog in person at Petapoluza in Fremont and discussed with me his training style & even helped me switch food! I never felt pressured & could tell Drew really knew what he was doing. I have had several training sessions with him for both basic obedience & we've been working on some leash aggression issues, and so far, we've VERY HAPPY with where we are. Drew is a fantastic trainer. My dog Derby is a hyper, still very much puppy mode mutt. He is very friendly and likes to jump all over everyone and constantly bug people when they are over at my house. I did a stay and train package with Drew and had Derby with him for two weekends in a row and then did a follow up session. Derby, now knows how to wait, go to his rug, and has stopped jumping on people and being obnoxious when I have guests over. I had people over on Saturday and everyone commented on how better behaved Derby is now. AND IT IS ALL THANKS TO DREW! I also have to add that Drew really does care about his work and his clients. My Dog and I love training with Drew! I love finally having a local trainer who lives in my community of Fremont. Not only did Drew encourage us to be active owners not reactive owners using positive training techniques but now we always get compliments on how well behaved she is when we are on walks or in public. I had her holding a Down Stay in a pet store while I looked at a treat bag (for her random rewards) and the employees said that she was really well behaved compared to the dogs that usually come in. Drew is a great trainer. Patient and experienced, calm and resourceful. But most importantly, my dog LOVES him. He gets so excited when he realizes I'm taking him into the Downtown Dog Lounge for a session with Drew. He has taught me to be more patient and positive when dealing with my PitBull puppy, and has greatly improved not only my dogs behavior and comfort level, but my relationship with my dog is much better without all the discipline. This really is as good as it gets! Good Dog Training is amazing. Drew Webster (the head trainer) is INCREDIBLE...i have seen huge improvements in my puppy who is being trained as a therapy dog in a short period of time. Before Drew, my 4 month old puppy was so hyper and extremely difficult to control....now after only 5 weeks he is AMAZINGLY WELL-BEHAVED for such a young puppy. We still have long ways to go because he is going to be a therapy dog, but i have absolutely no doubt that with Drew training him, he will be perfect. Drew is amazing! He opened our eyes to so many things about our puppy's behavior. He definitely goes above and beyond just "training."
