There are not enough positive words in the dictionary to describe GEDS. Amazing teachers that nurture, foster, encourage, and provide our children with the tools to grow in life. They are fabulous at directing your child in a positive way that is smooth and easy for both children and parents. The children spend a lot of time outside under a beautiful tree, climbing, running, exploring, taking care of animals, getting dirty (but always washing hands and having good hygiene). My child comes home filled up with love and excitement - she is tired, happy, and full of life! She is always excited to go back, see her friends, and do something new at school. They teach children how to cook, respect the environment / nature, how to do things for themselves. Food is very important at the school and the cook fresh, natural, usually gluten free, foods. They teach children to listen to their bodies, fill their bellys with healthy food, drink lots of water and are fabulous with children who have tough food allergies. I said when I started this review I said that there are not enough positive words available to describe The Good Earth Day Farm School, it is so true. If you want your child to learn, grow, get outside, nurture and be nurtured, encouraged, allowed to do things for themselves in a safe environment and respect food, their bodies and nature then this school is for you!!! read more

My 2.5 year old son has been attending Good Earth Farm school for 6 months and we're just in love with it. As a single full-time working mom, I had a really hard time getting used to the idea of sending my son to a full-time school at such a young age. But I can honestly and truly say that he has blossomed there. His language and social skills have developed so much. He's in the Saplings class and loves talking about all of his little friends and teachers when he's at home. My absolute favorite thing about farm school is how they spend so much time outdoors. My son comes home tired and dirty and talks about his "nature walks". I love that it's play-based, and that they don't send home dozens of art projects per month. I love the all-natural materials, the wooden toys, and the home environment in a center setting. My son helps make lunches, wash dishes, clean up the tables, sweeps. And the ANIMALS! He's always raving about the goats and the bunnies and the cat. It's just such a wonderful, loving preschool. And the food for the young kids is vegetarian, organic, local, and seems to be quite tasty. I can't recommend this school enough. read more

We have been at this school for 3 years. My children are thriving. They are learning life skills and more importantly, social skills. This school is powerful. My child is learning compassion for others and kindness. She can name all her vegetables . The teacher turnover is non existent. This tells me the teachers love it here and that carries over to the kids. Teachers are great role models for teaching emotions. read more

Great on paper, not quite in practice. Staff lacking qualifications. Everything on the website sounds great but if the staff can't follow through then where is the quality. Assistant director overheard speaking sharply to a child, on more than one occasion, for no reason at all. Just doesn't sit well with me. read more

Truly amazing place! My now 3 year old daughter has been going here for a year and I can't say enough good things about the staff and facility. Each morning we arrive at the school and my daughter happily runs into the backyard to play (after a quick stop at the bunny cage to say to hello to Brownie and Mocha). They are outside throughout the day and the kids learn to enjoy the weather no matter what season we are in. There are several animals on the farm (pigs, goats, a donkey, etc) and the kids love interacting with them. Lunch and two snacks are provided each day and the food is amazing. A typical lunch might include organic produce and lentils or beans, rice and guacamole. My daughter loves all the different foods and I know they are always feeding her the very best. Definitely no processed foods here! The staff all seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and there is very little turnover. I have two older kids and I never found a preschool half as good for them. I'm actually glad my daughter gets to go there for 2 more years! read more

My son moved here from a Montessori school when he was about 2 years old. He is now almost 5 and he has blossomed in this nurturing environment. We feel so blessed to have found this place where kids can spend so much time just being kids outside in the nature, and we love all the animals they have there as well. The director is very caring and understanding, and the teachers have been great for our son - I'm always able to discuss and resolve any concern I might have. I'm happy with the food options, and also feel at ease that the teachers and the school are keeping my son safe (even though he has food allergies). The bad part is that this will be our last year because we'll need to move onto to primary school, I wish we could stay here forever! read more

We started here at 18 months and at 4, are still going strong. We love that our daughter gets to run and play amongst trees and nature all day long. The teachers are really nice and there hasnt been any teacher turnover in almost 2 years. Meals are wholesome and the kids help prepare portions of it. Our son started at Good Earth at 18 months. He has now been there over a year. We couldn't be more pleased with the school and staff. We appreciate the school's philosophy and approach to early childhood education. The staff loves our child like he is one of their own. The team at Good Earth are development focused while remembering that kids should be kids. Even if there's mud, rain, and good old fashioned play. Our kids were engaged 100% in the program, while there, and learned lifetime skills and learned that outside is where fun happens. 100 star rating. read more

If I could create my own perfect preschool environment for my son, it would look just like Farm School. He started there about a year ago as a 3 year old and loves it. My favorite part, besides the really sweet, caring, nurturing teachers, is that they play outside all day long. Rain or shine, hot or cold. To me, childhood is so much more than learning your numbers and letters - it's learning to interact with other children in a safe environment. It's learning to withstand the elements and focus on fun. It's learning to respect yourself and others in a social situation. If a child can be confident in themselves and in their social surroundings, the numbers and letters will come. I've witnessed the teachers letting the kids play together and work out their problems together - only intervening if safety is an issue. That's just so beautiful - give kids a chance to figure it out and they will! They also teach them responsibility by taking care of the animals, cleaning up after themselves, making lunch together, looking after the garden, etc. While this learning environment isn't for everyone, I do encourage parents to at least give it a chance. The confidence my son has gained while attending Farm School is just incredible. We love it! read more

I had a rather strange experience with this school. I was told to go online and send an email with any information I had so I did just that. I asked about if there was a waiting list etc. which I needed to know before I scheduled a tour. So 1 month went by and still no return email. So then I called and I told one of the teachers that answered about how I had left and email and had no reply and that I was really interested in this school. She then said I will give the owner a message to call you. So after a week I still had no email and no call. After feeling that this school is pretty unprofessional and to be honest quite rude I decided to give 1 more chance. I drove to the school and a teacher told me that the owner was out of town for a month and then I said so I'm supposed to wait 1 month to take a tour ? She then changed her story and said The owner will be out of town for 2 weeks. At that point I was frankly done with this mystery. How many more red flags do I need. Is there any one left in charge to keep this school together when the owner is "Out of Town". I suppose the universe was looking out for me because I since found a wonderful nature school elsewhere. read more

There aren't words to describe how much we love Good Earth. Our son started there two months shy of his 2nd birthday, two years ago. While our situation has changed since enrolling him, we could never justify taking him away from Good Earth. They've nurtured him and helped him grow from a shy little toddler who couldn't handle any change, to a flexible, outgoing preschooler. There's not a place in the world he loves as much as the school, and every single teacher he's had has had such a positive impact on him. The environment is everything we hoped we could find in a preschool, and the lessons he's learning will stick with him forever. My kids went to farm school for 2.5 years and we absolutely loved it. When I was first thinking of enrolling my kids in a preschool someone mentioned it to me. I got on their website and was sold. There's no other preschool that interested me after finding farm school! My kids loved it there. Being able to be outside in nature, playing with sticks, climbing trees and picking flowers is exactly how childhood should be spent. Also, their daily menu was incredible. My kids palette for healthy foods grew immensely. They miss it there and still talk about it daily. I can't wait for my youngest to go! We couldn't love this sweet little school anymore! read more

Our boys, 3 and 4, really love this school and we could not be more pleased. The changes that we have seen in them over the past four months have been amazing to watch. The first thing that we noticed was that they began to play together, cooperatively. The second thing was their imaginations as they began to find simple objects and develop a story around them. Most recently we have been pleasantly surprised with their self control and manners which we know we have had too little to do with. But the best indication for us is that they simply love getting up and going to school. We have another child on the way and as soon as possible they too will be going to "Farm School." read more

My wife and I sought a place for out 18-month old daughter. After visiting 11 places closer to our home, we found Good Earth. We couldn't be happier. The staff there truly cares for the children. They spend a lot of time outside in play - feeding the goats, bunnies, cats, and donkey is a highlight. Many of the parents are teachers, which we also considered an endorsement.
