Our daughter was enrolled at a previous school. We weren't completely thrilled so we were potentially looking at schools that could give her a spot for the new school year. But we weren't going to move her unless we could get her into a new place. I received a phone call to come in and to tour the school and was informed they are waitlisted and won't have space. On that call, I mentioned that maybe it's best I just skip since we're only trying to move if we can get in her somewhere, not just to waitlist. They said no please come in and tour, it's very likely we can get her in after I mentioned I wasn't going to tour then. I toured the school. It appeared nice; kids looked happy. After speaking with the owner for a bit she kept mentioning there's people on her waitlist that have been ghosting her multiple attempts to enroll and it's very likely she will get in. "just give her a few days". We regretfully signed up my daughter on the waitlist and signed up my son for after school care that wouldn't start until the fall school year begin. Well days became weeks and still nothing. I attempted to contact the school to try to get some information on what was happening. The first day I the phones weren't working. I was later able to contact the Assistant Director who was unable to provide me any information or help me whatsoever. Not sure how an Assistant Director can't provide any information on what is going on with the status of my daughter if you're the Assistant Director. I explained other schools have openings and I need to know what is going on with my daughter being the fact it was basically 'duped' to us that she would get it. They would not provide me any information. We ended up having to enroll in another school because I can't take the risk of not getting in when they have space because another school is unable to provide me information. Eventually they reached out the following week and was like yeah, you're SOL and this is good feedback for the future that we should provide communication. LOL what? We said forget it and disenrolled our son for after care well over a month before anything was supposed to start. In the end my family and I are out $900 and my kids never even seen the place. I honestly don't even think they situation we were told about was true and they just lied/duped us to make it seem like she would get in and took our money. I understand paying a deposit. Everyone does it. Although Goddard is certainly the highest, I've ever seen. It's nearly double the Preps and Primrose. What is terrible is the about half of the $900 is for other 'fees, future enrollment, supplies" etc. whatever they want to call it. Besides the deposit, the rest of that money should be returned to us. My kids never even went to the school and disenrolled week above months' notice. I hope they enjoyed our $900 and making us feel duped to think we'd even get it in. If you tour the school, do not sign up unless you have a spot. read more

What an incredible experience we have had at Goddard Leander! Our three children go here and we couldn't be more pleased with the way our teachers have invested and cared for them. They go above and beyond in their roles and care for the growth and development of their students. The Owner is extremely communicative and accommodating and the office staff provides so many opportunities to be involved. Our children are happy and enjoy going to school every single day which makes being working parents a little bit easier! The teachers care so much and we haven't had a poor experience or interaction with anyone at Goddard. Finally, I am so confident in my oldest child's preparedness for Kindergarten. These teachers make learning fun and seamless and I am impressed by it daily! I couldn't recommend this school enough. read more

We are so happy to be with The Goddard School in Leander, we switched from another big name preschool in the area and truly have fallen in love with Goddard. Not only are my daughters teachers well educated on child development/teaching they absolutely love my daughter and nurture her development in the best way possible. Having an on site owner like Alissa is amazing, and a true game changer. They know our family and our daughter, and truly add that personal touch so many schools lack. If I could tell any prospective parent looking at schools, it would be to go with Goddard for your first choice, you will not be disappointed and your child with love it! My son has been attending this school for 4 years. We have made so many friends here. He has never had a complaint about his teachers and always enjoys going to school. We have two children, one 3-years old and one 7-months old, that have attended The Goddard School since they were each 12-weeks old. The staff has been excellent and the management is on-site, engaging, friendly, and always willing to help. They regularly hold events to engage parents and family and are frequently bringing in businesses and organizations from around the community to engage with the children. The owners and staff go above and beyond. Any concerns/issues you have they attend to them quickly. Curriculum is well thought out and they plan the best events! Everyone there is dedicated to the children's education and it shows. I always receive compliments on how advanced my child is, how she can put her shoes on, name all different colors and animals, count and hold a pencil correctly at such an early age. The teachers are so friendly and my son actually enjoys going to school - and no tears!. He's now in the Pre-K 2 class room and has been happier here than at any of the other schools/day care's that he's been to, even significantly more expensive ones. My one-year-old has been going to the Goddard School in Leander since June, and I really can't say enough great things about it. First off, my daughter is a heart baby, which 1) made me nervous to send her to daycare and 2) means that she has certain special needs, especially with nutrition. It didn't take long after we started going for me to feel completely comfortable that she gets the care and attention she needs at Goddard. I love the line of communication and familiarity I have with her teachers. I love that she is excited when she goes into her classroom and is happy when I pick her up in the afternoon. Everyone at Goddard, from the owners, to directors, to the teachers are very personable. We always walk in to a "hello" in the morning and a "bye bye" to our daughter in the afternoons. Furthermore, I love that I can see my daughter learning. They have a wonderful curriculum and fun events - even in the infant classroom! They send pictures throughout the day and a detailed report at the end of the day. We really do feel blessed to have found the Goddard School in Leander and highly recommend it. read more

The only downside to our son attending The Goddard School in Leander is that we won't be able to keep him there LONGER--given that he'll be attending kindergarten in the fall. I know for a fact that he'll be ready when it's time--and we owe a HUGE part of that to Goddard. He absolutely LOVES this school! We've seen him improve in many areas, including immense improvements in his social aptitude, since joining this school. The added security at the door, being that it's locked and requires a code and fingerprint to open, helps with our piece of mind. The teachers are top-notch and the programs are crucial for his development. I love that they pay special attention to extra-curricular activities as well, with a learn-by-play design that can't be beat. Oh, and, Handwriting Without Tears has helped him improve his handwriting ten-fold. He's writing his name everywhere! It's easy to see that the teachers and other staff really care about the place. Parenting is hard. Trusting someone with you kid is harder. I was a first time single parent via fostering. Goddard came highly recommended to me by my sister and a dear friend. Goddard did not disappoint. Love the facility. Love the curriculum. The teachers and staff became my extended family and go to place for new mom questions. I learned a lot with the loving guidance of Goddard teachers. I was so excited to learn the new owners who took over are continuing the passion for foster children. Not many facilities will accept foster care payments for childcare. The few who do tend to have lower quality care. Goddard will not sacrifice care for cost. Love them to pieces. I also love that they host parent night out and weekend events like the up coming holiday festival. It shows they want to integrate with the community. They love where they live and they love the kids their with. read more

The school like any school has good things and bad things. The thing I am most impressed by is how much the 4 year old class does as far as kindergarten prep. My oldest daughter went to an in home daycare before kindergarten and didn't have a lot of prep as far as reading or writing or counting very high so she struggled a lot when she started Kindergarten and still struggled until about 3rd grade. My 4 year old that goes there can count to 100, read some early stage kids books, and has learned many sight words and can write her name as well as some other sentences (still sloppy but getting better every day). Her teacher has a made a huge difference and has given her such a head start that will be a great advantage when she starts public school. The only thing I wish was different would be that there was less "Montessori attitude" for the kids. This is not a teacher thing but a school thing which I feel is not in the best interest of the kids. This philosophy of letting the kids color or paint whenever they want to or then go play with blocks whenever they want to is fine in theory but here is the reality of the world. When they go to kindergarten they don't get to start or stop activities or things whenever they feel like it. They have a schedule and times that they work on this or that. They can't just go open some paint and start painting and making a mess while they are working on math centers...you know? Kids need structure and consistency. I know other parents have agreed that their kids had a hard time adapting to having "rules" and schedules. That would be one of the things I highly suggest for the school to take a look at. Have a "free time" where they can choose from some different things to do but get them used to rules and schedules. But yes, teachers like Ms. Holly and Ms. Theresa and Ms. Joy are awesome and why people take their kids to that school. read more

We were not pleased with this pre-school. My child has had more than one teacher leave with little or no notice. I should have pulled my child out the month after enrollment, but I wanted to give them a fair chance. After a few more months, the lead teacher left, if this doesn't make matters bad, the teacher they hired left a week later. The class had about three or four teachers come and go as subs(heck...I have lost track!) Horrible parent/teacher communication. The owners are more worried about their money in the bank vs worrying about children/teacher ratio or the happiness of the children enrolled in their school. My only regret? My daughter started Goddard a couple of months ago and we have seen so much growth. Her social skills have improved and the lessons we give her at home seem to go a lot easier since she started Goddard. Everyone is so friendly, but more importantly, they can explain the curriculum very easily and everyone seems invested in the childrens' education. I ask a lot of questions and they are always ready to answer. My daughter enjoys it and never wants to leave! I would highly recommend it. read more

We love all of the themes week to week, the speakers they get to come visit, the splash days, the open houses, the parties... the fun never stops! My husband and I are very pleased with the teachers, cirriculum, activities, and owners of Goddard in Leander. My children have been attending since 2008 and most of the same teachers are there that have seen them grow up. The parent-teacher communication is regular. Overall very organized. First, I would like to comment on some of the negative feedback that has been posted by some parents. I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I also believe that those negative reviews were written by people who are never satisfied with anything in this world no matter what anyone does to try and please them. So if you are considering sending your child to Goddard, please do not give too much consideration to these remarks. My daughter attended Goddard for almost 4 years before going to kindergarten and my son has been enrolled since he was 10 weeks old. Nothing I write in this review will do this daycare justice, but I'm going to do my best to put into words how happy we are that we chose this center. As I said, my daughter started there right after she turned 2 and has thrived both academically and socially. The teachers she had were highly skilled and did lots of educational lessons, projects, and games with the children. My daughter was able to identify letters/numbers, colors, and shapes (she told her pediatrician to draw an octogon at one of her check-up appts) at 2 1/2, write her name at 3 years old, knew phonics by age 4, and numerous other things like graphing, identifying patterns, etc. In addition, she learned sign language and would often teach me the signs for several words. We had parent/teacher conference 2 times a year and each teacher would document countless areas that she either excelled at or areas to work on at home. I can't tell you how many times she would tell me something and I would think to myself, she must have learned that at daycare and a wave of pride would come over me. It was amazing to me some of the stuff she knew thanks to the wonderful staff at Goddard. I never had any doubt that she would be well prepared for kindergarten. My only concern was that she would be so advanced she would be bored in school. My son has thrived as well. Although he hasn't reached an age where there is alot of structured learning, I see his cognitive skills advancing daily. And at such a young age, my main concern right now is the amount of nurturing and comfort he receives. The teachers who have cared for him since infancy have done a tremendous job. He was a fussy baby who did not like to sleep, but his teachers never gave up until they found a way to sooth him and get him to take a good nap. I would often times try to take his teachers home with me so they could show me how they got him to sleep so soundly for an extended period of time. In regards to safety issues, Goddard is diligent about documenting and communicating to parents any bump or scrape a child my receive during the day. There were times when they would bring to my attention a scratch on my son that he received at home, but they wanted to ensure that it did not happen at the center. They would document this on an incident report for me to sign. While I'm not a parent who freaks out over every little bump and bruise, I was impressed with the level of attention to my child's well being. I have truly been pleased with the level of care my children have received and I would highly recommend this center. I firmly believe that if you send your child to Goddard you will agree that this school is by far the best and you will realize that I'm completely right about my thoughts on those individuals who wrote negative reviews :) read more

My daughter has been here since she was 18 months, she is now 31/2. In the beginning, we loved it. I am a working mother, my husband is a full time student, so he gets to take her and pick her up. My daughter was learning as they had a great curriculum, and it was delivered as promised. My daughter moved up to the 2 year old class and her teacher was great! A new, but as I've been told, previous director came back. Her teacher left and since then, it's been teacher after teacher. Down hill from there. The director is very rude, unfriendly and never makes a point to say hello when she passes you in the hall. There have been several time when my husband and I have walked in and witness her yelling at children my daughters age. Mind you, in the last couple years, I have only picked her up maybe 10 times and I have witnessed this at least 5 times. There have been a few times I have picked up my daughter and the director has been in the room and she has NEVER greeted me! The times I have gotten to pick her up, I have had to pick her up from one room, but her belongings from another. (She wasn't picked up late, the latest was 5:20) I picked her up this week and asked if this was the classroom she would be in now and was told yes.(oh, and as I was walking in the classroom, the director opened the door to walk out and again, NOT EVEN A HELLO!) Then I asked about her teacher and was told she has a new teacher and the lady telling me this was her assistant teacher. I then asked if they were doing a Valentine's Day party and was told "it's hanging on the door." Looked on the door and it's a sign up sheet to bring food. What about the list of kids so we can do cards? Got that today, but my daughter only goes M-W. This may all seem petty to some, but this is my daughter not getting the expertise, attention (18 kids in her class now), and care we pay high dollar for. Currently seeking new care and plan to have her out ASAP. You definitely don't get what you pay for here! read more
