AWFUL. INCORRECT ORDERS. RUDEST SERVICE IN DOOR COUNTY. Having tried this place several times, today was the last straw. Not only was the order wrong (again), but when I returned it and politely asked for the 'basic' burrito I ordered, an employee said "it's just a little spinach in there - that's a problem?" Yes, I'd like the burrito I ordered please, and there were more vegetables than spinach in there. The guy then THREW the burrito across the kitchen and then yelled at me it would be an hour to cook the basic burrito. (They are obviously malfunctioning in that kitchen.) The lady standing next to me asked why they couldn't fix the order right away, surely their mistake was worth fixing for a customer. The guy then said he would refund my money because they didn't have time to stop and cook my order. I asked for the receipt and he then disappeared without coming back. Another guy (the owner, I assume) asked me to step inside the kitchen and asked what the problem was. I said my order had been wrong, I asked for it to be corrected but was told that wasn't possible, so please refund my money and print the receipt. The owner then yelled at me "I feed hundreds of people every day and today I'm choosing not to feed you!" I don't know how these guys manage to stay in business. The breakfast burritos were pretty good. However, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired, and I would not recommend this place. We went during business hours and they closed an hour early and turned our family away. The unfriendly young gentleman told us to order via the app and said you could specify your time the next day in the app. We did that since this place was recommended to us to try. We returned at the designated pick up time and they didn't have the food ready until over 30 minutes past the selected pick up time. No apologies other than to say they were running behind. Found this place on yelp while we were staying in town for the first time for a friends wedding and it was awesome. I love places that commit to doing one thing great - in this case breakfast burritos. Standard comes with cheese eggs and potatoes and there are veggie or meat upgrades. You get to pick tortilla type and cheese and the staff is super friendly. The burritos are huge, we were so full. Outside are tables made of surfboards. This is a difficult review to write, and I will definitely be catching some flack from my lady on this one, but I just have to give it 3 stars. While the food and service is awesome, there were some things lacking that I can not neglect. We stop at this chill little cabana every time we are in Door County. The service, once you get there is outstanding and personalized. The owner/operator does a wonderful job at working the crowed as you approach the grill and until you leave joint. The food is fabulous and customized, and they serve Alterra coffee! Speaking of coffee, I would have loved to have a cup as I waited in line, which was a long time. It just sat there tempting me, calling for me. The food is just breakfast wraps, you can get them with potatoes and cheese, veggies, meat, or all of the above. The biggest thing missing for me was a list of available vegetables, meats, cheeses and wraps. The chef has to list them off every time someone is up to order, which delays the process and causes people to have to make a decision while he is waiting on them. Throw a list up and I would bet your line would move much smoother. Not to mention I like to think about those kinds of things before I order my food, not as I am doing it. They are a cash only business, but they conveniently have an ATM with a $2.00 surcharge that goes to Good Eggs, probably where they make most of their profit. The machine ran dry when I went for cash and they just filled it up from the register till. It isn't that hard to get a credit card scanner these days. Anyway, bring cash. If you don't mind waiting for your food, and you are looking for a delicious breakfast, then this is your place. At least check it out once, and if it is too long of a line for you, at least you tried. One thing I learned afterward, and totally would have taken advantage of is ordering online or on Facebook. Good Eggs is about as simple as it comes, but thats what makes it great. There are three employees. Two cutting veggies, cracking eggs, etc... and the other is the main cook with a griddle right next to where you order. He ask simple questions and you provide simple answers. Its similar to a shack you would find on a beach in the Carribbean and the view is equally as good. The tables are made of old surfboards and it was busy. We split a veggie (they're HUGE) on a cilantro wrap and opted for a fresh-squeezed OJ to accompany. A fine, fine choice. Dining space is mostly outdoors, and if there are more than eight people in line, you might have to wait a while to get your wrap. But it's one of those phenom places that is worth waiting in line for. I'm told they also do made-to order grilled cheese in the p.m. (choose a bread, choose a cheese). Good for kids! Do it like a local: don't offer more information about your order than directly asked for. When he asks you if you want the black bean salsa, the answer is YES. Wish they sold that stuff in jars. When you walk in you are immediately treated as if you owe them the curtousy of knowing how their ordering system works that is poorly signed. I have an allergy to wheat so asked for just eggs and vegis. The cook which i assume is the owner was not accommodating. HE WAS RUDE TO MY WHOLE FAMILY. THE BREAKFAST WAS FAR LESS TASTY THEN THE ARROGANT ATTITUDE OF THE OWNER. Another key observation is that the eating and cooking areas which are trying to look cool are NOT SANITARY. My favorite breakfast joint in DC, hands down. Colectivo Coffee always hot with different style roasts. Can also get Orange juice or smoothies to drink. Burritos are a work of art, including 3 different types of tortilla. I always get the deluxe, which includes egg, veggies, meat, potatoes, and black bean salsa. Simple concept executed greatly. The omelette as a burrito is all they serve. The results simply amazing. We got a couple different versions and my wife, who doesn't like burritos, was very skeptical when the food arrived. After a few bites she was hooked. By the end all she kept saying was, "wow, this was really good". The staff is welcoming and fun to interact with. There was a dog there also that simply just wanted to play catch with a Frisbee, it was cute. When looking at the face of the restaurant, you enter on the far left side. You pick your drink, then onto ordering your omelette. All of this is made right in front of you. At the checkout if they have baked goods, get one, you won't be sorry. I like the simplicity of it, and the food is really well done. The burrito is nice and hearty too. We ate here and were satisfied for most of the rest of the day. Topping out below $10 with the BEST ingredients: veggies, meat (3 choices) and rosemary potatoes, choice of cheese and all wrapped in a tortilla. YUM! The decor is great. It's a surfer cabana style, with seating outside on the water. Coffee by Alterra, smoothies and juices are also available. Can't get enough of this place. Been coming here for years. Amazing food, excellent coffee and the setting on the lake is perfect. I need nothing more to start my day than what they offer. The wait can be long, but there's an app for that. Download the app and order ahead of time if you don't want to wait. FYI: This review was written by a disabled business owner... Just left Good Eggs. Let me start by saying the eggs are excellent and the service is very friendly, so please don't think otherwise while skimming reviews when you see this 3-Star beauty pop up on your screen. So here's the reason why Good Eggs gets 3-Stars. I am a customer with a disability and an autoimmune illness. Many disabilities are visible and obvious, but there even more which aren't. Mine is one of those that fall into the latter category. Depending on how bad it is from day to day, I may look relatively "normal" and appear to be able to do "normal" things. Because of my disability and the injuries it lends itself to, I am currently dealing not only with the pain of the disability itself, but with an injured back and ruptured posterior tibial tendon in my left foot (stay with me here, my injury is relevant). The posterior tibialis is the tendon which runs from your knee to the inside of your ankle. This means that standing for an hour for my food with no chairs available is NOT an option. I don't like complaining or asking to be treated differently from others, but I'm now in a great deal of pain after completing half of my order and having to stand in line for an hour for the rest of it . I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get done what I wanted to get done today on the last day of my vacation. I often feel really forgotten and defeated when patronizing businesses run by healthy people and geared toward healthy people. I saw one woman on a motorized cart having a really tough time getting in and out of this business. She had a caregiver with her. I do not. There were no chairs to sit in, there was nowhere for folks with various disabilities and illnesses to sit and take a break in the long, hot line for food. This may not seem like a big deal to healthy folks, but it's crucial to those of us with disabilities. I was really disappointed that there was nowhere for me to sit or rest in that hour long line today and as a result, I felt really ignored and neglected. I know this isn't the owner's intention. The owner and staff seemed very nice indeed and the food was good, but folks, you're a growing business who clearly has quite a few customers. It really is absolutely essential that you start catering to customers with disabilities. Here are a few ways you can: ·Keep a clear 32" or wider pathway for disabled people to utilize while standing in line, ·Set out at least 5 chairs (I'm counting on teenagers and healthy people using these chairs and not even considering that they might be for disabled folks, so having 4-5 in the area in which people submit their orders would be really helpful). There was one hard metal chair in that area which a teenager immediately plopped down into and began texting. I did not feel comfortable asking him to get up as I don't appear disabled and I'm young and am often told to piss off, even when walking with a cane. Labeling a couple of these chairs as for the use of disabled people would be amazing. ·Make sure the ground and floor surfaces in and around your entrance are wheelchair friendly. These are just a couple of ways you could make your lovely little establishment more disabled friendly. I can guarantee you that you probably see numerous folks like me each and every day who, like me, limp through your line, sweating and shaking in pain. Taking the above steps would be fantastic. I'm a business owner myself and being disabled has given me valuable perspective on this matter. Thanks for your consideration. The reason I didn't bring this up in a room full of people in very tight quarters was because I didn't want to appear as if I was being dramatic or complaining for the sake of complaining.
