They sell some fantastic products, but I rarely have an order where something isn't rotten or missing. Over the last 3 months I've only had 1 order that was actually correct and where all the products were edible. I don't bother to contact them for the small stuff anymore, just consider part of the (very high) cost. Their customer service is okay but not great considering how often you have to contact them and how expensive the food is. Produce can be exceptional, but it is often under ripe and recently have had a some stuff that goes rotten before it ripens. I used to get their meal kits but have cut back as things seem to have gotten worse. Last kit I ordered they sent everything except the main meat component - which they were out of. A really depressing and expensive way to get some basic tortillas, an under ripe avocado, a nasty mass made pico de gallo (was supposed to be their own kitchen version which is great, but I guess they were out) and cheese slices (supposed to be shredded cheese, but I guess they were out of that too). Also, as a previous reviews have said - very risky to use them for a special occasion. If you must, make sure you order with at least a day to spare so you can get to the store for anything they have failed to deliver. If you're trying a holiday, have a whole alternative plan in mind because they over book and haven't made all their deliveries on several occasions. Like I say - some of their products are fantastic and the only way I can get hold of them so I keep ordering. But the prices are really high and the service, especially logistics, poor. They make a big deal about paying their workers fairly, but have recently added a tip line which just goes to their delivery folk (and can only be added before the delivery, so let's just hope it's good). When we started using them a year ago their produce was astonishing, as good as the local farmer's markets with farm names savvy shoppers like me know and trust. But since Summer of 2025 the produce quality has deteriorated to the point where they pick and pack rotting or wilted produce. Produce which should be given away or composted. They sell produce or fruits which any store would immediately remove from the shelves. They also put fragile greens or vegetables under neath heavy or frozen items, like ice cream, so if the greens weren't already rotting or damaged the freeze will cause them to nearly liquefy inside their delivery boxes. If you ordered something in a box, like cookies or donuts the boxes are are so carelessly packed that the contents will be broken. We've seen candy bars snapped into nearly crumbs. Their workers can't read. You might order a specific brand of wine and a precise varietal and they give you something way completely different. This has become routine and not just wines, but with packaged goods with brand names and flavors clearly posted. In many cases they are selling produce, meat and dairy past their prime or expiration date. Frozen things arrive half way defrosted. For some bizarre reason they put in ice cream in bubble wrap bags which do nothing to slow down defrosting when they should be using tried and true heavy paper bags to insulate. Their dry ice in small paper bags are so tiny that they do nothing. I no longer trust their house made items because they clearly have nearly zero quality control. Goodness knows what their level of sanitation is! Or is not! When you order you are not able to give them any notes. A perfect example: Avocados. You can't say if you want them ripe or not. What if you are making guacamole tonight and they give you rock hard avocados? I once ordered one banana which I really needed for a dessert that night, and rather than a nice yellow one, it was green and rock hard and never ripened well. As bad as Instacart is you can at least give the shopper specific notes about what you want/like/don't like. And their good shoppers will communicate with you via text - with Bad Eggs you are in limbo. They regularly over pack boxes so that when you pick one up it can tweak your back or the box splits open. Yet another box might have nearly nothing inside of it. They tell you how much they want to hear from you but they do not. There is no phone number. You can text or email and not get a reply other than some AI nonsense telling you to go to their website for the FAQ which will not resolve anything. On several occasions l was expecting a new order and I left my old boxes and fillers on the porch which is what I ask you to do. I've had the drivers take what they want then through the rest into the front yard. If you are thinking I'm some lazy bones who can't do her own shopping let me tell say I'm physical limitations. What is supposed to help me or anyone who desires such a service has become a time consuming frustrating nuisance and it is not worth it. It has now been 7 hours that my latest botched delivery arrived and when I contacted Bad Eggs with a list of all of the problems with well photographed pictures and they have yet to reply. Before heading to Yelp I texted them yet again and I sent a message on their Instagram page to say that if this is not resolved by 5pm I call my credit card company. After you place orders, they will send messages to you saying they missed you in their final delivery attempt, while actually you are at home the whole time/make a clear note on the order saying they can leave your package unattended. Or they will say you violated their policy so they will cancel your order, but they never explain what policy is violated. In their messages they say some customer service people will contact you and you can also contact them. But actually they never respond. Even they say they canceled your order, they just leave it there and never refund you. I had one good order, but the second one was miserable fire drill. Good Eggs has some great products and a good variety of items but their tech systems, communication and logistics are a dysfunctional mess. I got a text saying that my order was delivered and it was nowhere to be found. The supposed live tracking data was not working so I couldn't check that. When I sent a text to their customer service number I got the robot reply that really means there is no customer service available. Since I needed some of my order items for a dinner party later I had to rush out to the market to buy what I needed. After that fire drill, I got back and heard from the company who knew all day that their tech systems were glitching and sending inaccurate information. The order had not been delivered and was still underway but I couldn't verify that from their tracking map since it wasn't working. I also couldn't communicate with a real person who could fill me in on the details. The fact that Good Eggs didn't bother to communicate their problems and provide real-time updates and information is unfathomable. I've been ordering groceries from Good Eggs for the past few years, and it has continued to improve in all areas and leave me so grateful for this service. The produce is top notch in quality and quantity. Once I figured out my favorite farms, I was able to get all of my fruit from Good Eggs without needing to go to farmers markets anymore. I continue to be surprised by how full the pints and bunches of veggies can get with my orders! I also like how clean the produce is (it's so easy to get moldy produce from grocery stores), and I'm guessing that's due to how fresh and direct from the farms the produce is. And maybe Good Eggs keeps their facilities much cleaner. Errors happen very rarely, and when they do, the customer service is always very happy to tailor a solution for me. They definitely try even harder to make sure that the mistake doesn't happen again. I'm not even a member (yet), but I do feel like one already. I can see that from the constant improvements they make in delivery times, packaging, etc. And they will always pick up my boxes and ice packs with my next order. Let me just say that the quality of the produce, the friendliness and efficiency of the customer service are all top notch. We love good eggs and even pay for the monthly subscription ($30/m) but the new tipping line: awful. The beauty of your service, its real differentiator for me was that it wasn't "on me" to make sure that your workers were paid fairly. It's onerous, annoying and bad for your brand to make the customer worry about tipping -- and more so, to make it mandatory with a .50 cent minimum! To be clear: I use your service specifically because you have made a point about being a good employer. You are not a gig work service and I love that! I am happy to pay more for a premium service. Covid review. For us Good Eggs is a life saver. We haven't been to a grocery store for months. We shop local when we can. Good Eggs has a lot of local providers. We purchase mostly organic produce, Straus milk, organic Mary's chicken and a bunch of other items. Ordering is easy online. Good Eggs try's to keep inventory up to date. If they are truly out of something you cannot order it. That said inventory doesn't always agree with the inventory. Have you ever been in a big Box store that is missing 30 boxes of something nobody can find? The same will happen with Good Eggs. As with their competitor Good Eggs has a substitution program should you allow them to substitute. In our case we fairly allow substitutions and just order enough to "punt" should something be out. Customer service is excellent. If you don't get something, call them and they will make it right. Food shows up in boxes that they will pick up next time and recycle. Perishable items are packed with recyclable ice pouches. Frozen goods come with clearly labeled "dry ice" pouches. Straus bottle deposits will be refunded immediately when you leave the bottles for pickup on your next order. For those of us that can remember milk delivery this reminds us of days in the past. Good Eggs is a growing business. They have had a few false starts around very busy times like Thanksgiving. For thanksgiving we had a spatchcocked turkey that was extremely tasty but not all were that lucky. We ordered ours early in the week along with a frozen duck just in case. The CEO had to apologize to some of the customers for missing the delivery. Suggestion: order early and have a backup plan. Good Eggs...I loathe to write this review. You guys must know how much I adore you but... I've been a customer with you for as long as you've been open. I've seen you go through many changes in terms of how you operate. Last year I bought the newly offered (and expensive) delivery membership. I felt good about this purchase, thinking it was a smart way to ensure employees would have another source of revenue. One thing I've always loved is the lack of ambiguity due to no tipping. Adding in a tip line is such a moral turnoff and goes against your original ethos in which you stated that you took care of your employees and therefore there was no need for a tip. However, in my most recent order I noticed a new feature: a place to add a tip. Please do away with the tipping feature. It makes me feel mistrust for your company, as if your workers are not being compensated fairly and that the onus is on me to make sure they are. Just bake the cost into the products. This will eliminate variability on your end and create a more transparent shopping experience for your customers. If you want a way for customers to show extra appreciation, perhaps add a seasonal category where users can opt to "add a delivery driver gift" or something of the sort. The tip line cheapens your brand and frankly makes you look greedy. On the positive side of things, you guys continue to do a fabulous job of making things right when orders go even slightly wrong. This does not go unnoticed - my family very much appreciates your commitment to customer service. We had a horrible experience with an order for Thanksgiving in 2024. Good Eggs is not dependable the day before a holiday - this is not the first time they have messed up a Thanksgiving-related delivery. Customers should not order from Good Eggs for any important holidays or celebrations - there is no level of assurance. They will return your money but they can never make up for the inconvenience, disappointment and potential scrambling you have to do to find replacement items. Our order was to be delivered between the 5 and 9PM window on Wed 11/27, but we later discovered that the order did not arrive until 11:50 PM. We received several update texts from 3 different cell phone numbers about their being delayed. We finally went to bed around 11PM after telling Good Eggs to cancel the order as it is too late. The next morning we received a text that the groceries were delivered - but they were nowhere to be found. We searched everywhere around our apartment building. Another text later sent a photo of the groceries - the incompetent driver left it unattended at a different apartment building (next to our building) at 11:50PM with some of the items visibly laying on top of the box (begging to be stolen)! I specifically indicated in my order that the groceries are not be left unattended (it is an option during the ordering process) because our neighborhood is known for packages getting stolen. We did not see that text sooner as it got filtered as junk. Why was Good Eggs using 3 different cell numbers? We had already left town when that last text came to our attention. It is a certainty that someone enjoyed our order given the area is known for packages getting stolen. I demanded a refund which I was given - no apologies from this business where I was a customer for several years. Don't promote your Thanksgiving or holiday offerings if you do not have the capacity or infrastructure to handle the orders - you clearly do not have it together. I finally decided to try Good Eggs about a month ago when I was in search of a specific watermelon variety and they were the only ones that had it and would deliver it to my door. I am very picky about my produce quality and so far everything has met my high standards. It is very fresh and so far has all been so flavorful. Comparable to stuff that comes out of my own garden, which even my CSA box doesn't always manage. They also have amazing varieties of fruit that I haven't seen too many other places. I am obsessed with the fact that I can order 3-4 different kinds of honeydew melons. Ordering is simple using the app, although for some reason it is really slow on my phone. Could absolutely be just an issue with my phone. I just practice patience. I love that you can select when you would like it to be delivered instead of being stuck with just one day and no specific time like my CSA box, which often arrives in the middle of the night which means I don't feel great about getting perishables. With Good Eggs I can pick a time when I know I will be home. Perishables are also packed with ice packs which is great. Price wise it often comes out to be cheaper than my CSA box and is much better quality than the grocery store. I am happy to be supporting living wages and people owning a part of a good company. It isn't perfect despite my glowing review, but nothing is perfect. My first two deliveries showed up a little outside my selected 2 hour window, but I did get a text message with a heads up. If I would have reviewed Good Eggs a month ago, I would have scored them higher, after using them for several months for specialty grocery shopping without incident. I considered them a reliable supplier of groceries and locally produced meal kits. I encouraged my family this would be a good Thanksgiving option for our smaller needs this year. But I write this on the day before Thanksgiving, arguably one of the most important meals of the year for our family. A delivery that was supposed to arrive at 10 am today, and has most of our key ingredients, including our turkey and pumpkin pie, is MIA as of 7 pm, but what is most upsetting is that the customer service communication at Good Eggs is absent. Clearly, this issue is impacting many customers, because their outgoing phone message (no humans, only answering machines) is indicating long delays, but then the phone is disconnected and we were hung up on, without any additional support. Phone messages were not responded to, and in trying to call Good Eggs back, we were led through a series of prompts before ultimately being disconnected again. Our many emails sent throughout the day received canned responses "please have patience" without real information as to whether items may arrive before Thanksgiving, or after. Our texts (they encourage customers to text or email customer service) were not responded to. In short, no communication. Radio silence or canned non-meaningful responses. Its not acceptable that there's no one, no actual human who is customer facing, answering the phone from the Good Eggs team during this widespread Turkey Day issue that impacted countless customers. 2020 has taught us many things. Certainly it taught us to have patience and gratitude and to accept that not all things will go to plan. And we've learned that we will survive it. That it will be mostly okay. But on a year such as this, selecting Good Eggs on Thanksgiving turned out for my family, and many others, to be just another one of those 2020 stressors we didn't need. Update: Our order (missing some items) arrived in the past 10 to 15 minutes (around 8 pm) without any communication prior, and about eight hours after expected arrival. Without sounding boughie, I get most of my groceries delivered these days (disclaimer; super convenient and I have MD so carrying groceries in the city without a car poses a problem for me). Good eggs is truly THE BEST OF THE BEST in delivery and quality. Customer service is always exceptional. I eat out on the weekends most of the time and if I'm feeling extra lazy on a weeknight will order delivery, but otherwise I cook a lot and the quality of purveyors and selection is a foodie's dream come true. They just implemented a yearly membership program that of course I jumped on. Try them out if you ever find yourself needing groceries delivered for any reason at all. Was so excited to try the Orange chicken with broccoli meal kit but the star anise flavor was so overpowering that the dish didn't taste as good as we'd hoped. It does not matter how good the quality of the product is if the delivery process is an absolute mess and there is no customer service. First time ordering through Good Eggs, many months ago, the delivery tracker said they'd be arriving in 10 minutes. Then 5 minutes. Then it said 5 minutes for the next 2 hours. And the truck didn't move from a location a few blocks away. I called, I texted, I emailed. The customer service is an absolute ineffective joke. Turns out the driver pulled into the Safeway parking lot a couple blocks away and took a nap. I kid you not. Afternoon ruined waiting for an order that ended up being 2-3 hours late. The second time ordering (didn't want to based on the first experience), the delivery tracker once again stated the driver would be arriving in 20 minutes, then 15 minutes, then 10 minutes.....and then it said 10 minutes for the next two hours. I called, I texted, I emailed. Same dismal and ineffective customer service. Turns out the driver hadn't even left the warehouse. What exactly was the live tracker tracking? The third time ordering (wasn't my choice this time), and the same thing happened as the previous time. Delivery tracker said delivery due in 20 minutes, which would have been 3:45. Then 10 minutes, then 8 minutes....I thought it would happen! But I noticed that while the time was ticking down, the location of the van showed it still at their warehouse in Bayview. Once again, I called, I texted, I emailed. Barely a response. When they finally did respond, they said the order would be delivered over 30 minutes past the end of their delivery window at 6:30 pm. Nope. 6 pm or cancel was my response. They dropped it off at 5:56 pm. Warm produce and pathetic flowers. Don't advertise what you can't deliver. Otherwise, you're just dirty liars. read more

First delivery was good, but things went downhill from there. Customer service is non existent, and good luck trying to get a refund for missing items (let alone any response at all). Do yourself a favor and avoid this business. Don't fall for their marketing schemes. You'll only set yourself up for disappointment and lose money on stale produce/missing items if you do. read more

It's sad to say that we have never had an order fulfilled without some kind of issue due to lack of inventory management, poor packer judgement and/or quality control. The latest delivery was missing items (but we were still charged for them), and included produce riddled with black mold, broken eggs, and meat that was packaged back in July 2019 (for a March 2020 delivery). It's appalling that the inventory includes such expired items way past food safety guidelines AND the packer did not possess any kind of sense that a gray-brown package of raw meat is absolutely not acceptable to add to an order. They have a good selection of products -- many items catering to special diet considerations. Their delivery is on-time and well-packed. Overall I would say their products are similar in quality/selection/pricing as Whole Foods. Thus far we tried only a few of their own brands, such as the sausages (the lamb merguez esp. good; others just OK). Our only complaint is in the incredibly small, stingy portion of their homemade mustard ($4 for what is approx. equal to 2 pumps from Top Dog's mustard bar). Plus the description failed to mention it has a sweet-hot flavor which was not what we were expecting from a whole grain mustard. Will most likely use Good Eggs again but will steer away from their own brands...except the lamb merguez. read more
