I came into Sprouts in Oakland on Broadway, looking for a product I had seen in a commercial--basil seeds. I asked Rondell if he was familiar with it, and although he admitted he wasn't, he immediately offered to help me find it. We checked a couple of different areas before he decided to Google a picture of the product. He then asked Leslie for help, and she took us straight to exactly what I was looking for. Along the way, I mentioned why I wanted to try basil seeds, and Leslie went above and beyond by showing me several other popular products that customers with similar interests often purchase. The outstanding customer service didn't stop there. They walked me to the front, opened a checkout lane, and rang me up. I usually go here for their regular and weekly specials on organic fruits and veggies. Yet today was the first time I noticed their deli/prepared foods section as I was browsing their refrigerated kombucha drinks. Good sandwich meal deals for $5.99 and up, as well as a solid selection of smoothies ($7) and prepared hot entree meal ($9) specials. Tried the made-to-order, roast beef and turkey sandwich meal deals for $5.99 each, which comes with a bag of potato chips and bottle of water. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste for the sandwiches - especially the choice of included veggies (romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, sliced bell peppers, etc). Sandwiches come with choice of toasted or untoasted bread (multigrain, sourdough, dutch crunch etc), slice of cheese (provolone, swiss, cheddar, etc) and various veggies. Note: Avocado/guacamole is an extra charge. Roast beef sandwich was very good and filling. Had a bite of the turkey but it was a bit too salty for my taste. Also ordered a smoothie ($7) and it stood out for grocery store deli item - was better than jamba juice in my opinion, and cheaper too. Have never been here in person but have used DD and their app for deliveries. Overall I like Sprouts: -good prices -sales, even BOGO on brands like Hu Kitchen -carry Coconut Cult, it's sold out a lot but there are times the shoppers find some - just add to your cart and they will refund you if it's sold out -store branded items are a hit or miss but I like their organic coconut oil popcorn! Rivals Lesser Evil - it's actually crispier! The gf crackers are duds, go with Simple Mills -fresh produce is plentiful, fresh and priced below their competitors -Vital Farm eggs Nice to be able to rotate some of their selections into my fridge and pantry - since I opt out of Good Eggs now - their fees just became outrageous and their variety dwindled. read more

My mom loves their veggie chips from the dried food aisle. Plenty of items, nuts, candies, grains, to choose from in the dried foods aisle. Sushi Wednesdays are awesome ($5 rolls)! Every time I go they usually have a crunchy roll, spicy tuna, California rolls . Not sure if the other options get sold out or if they only offer certain rolls on Sushi Wednesdays. I think it's the latter, but for the discount it makes sense. On other days I've seen assorted nigiri. If you really crave sushi and don't have time I'd come here for a quick grab and go. Don't forget to grab your chopsticks and soy sauce (located right above the sushi). They also have a deli sections where you can order a freshly made sandwich. I really like their Italian sandwich! There is often a line at lunch hour though. They recently added smoothies, including the viral (and limited time) "Tropical Glowgetter" that many people in LA say is a dupe for one of Erewhon's $19 smoothies. I never tried Erewhon so I can't draw comparisons, but I will say I loved my smoothie! Tropical is the perfect way to describe this drink, I could really taste the pineapple. I love that the woman who made my drink asked if I wanted a more watery or thicker consistency (I said thicker please). Note that for the smoothies there is a separate line (to the left of the divider) and there is a slip of paper to fill out for your smoothie/acai bowl, where you can drop off, do a little shopping, and come back for later. Love that parking is easy (entrance is from the side). The addition of self-checkout stations makes getting in and out easy. Some cashiers can be really nice and sweet, and then some who are low energy/just don't care (multitasking like chatting or snacking). read more

I've always loved Sprouts. ALWAYS. Since a child, I loved their selection of muffins, pastries, and their overall affordability when I started shopping for myself. Anyway, this review is really for the smoothies. Hot damn! I first heard about smoothies from Sprouts on some sub-Reddit and from that point on I made it a mission to get to Sprouts and get some smoothies. The first one I tried was the Glowgetter. It looks pretty, reminded me of the White Gummy from Jamba Juice, and it's allegedly only available for a limited time. Light in flavor but sweet enough. I'd give it a 3.9/5 only because I don't really remember the flavor but I know I enjoyed it. Next up, I tried their Coffee Date smoothie. I enjoyed this more than the Glowgetter, but it could have been thicker. This seems like a trial thing they're doing. I'm not sure, but I'm here for it especially on the days I forget to make lunch but don't want to get something on a whim. They have a $1 off deal with their sandwich and smoothie combo, so that's cool, but I have a few things to pick out. For the sandwiches - I hate mayo, but they have guacamole that you can add to the sandwich for $1. Cool. I wish they had peppers though, like banana peppers or pickled jalapeños. That would be a good add on. For the smoothies - They could be thicker. On the other hand, maybe I'm not used to having all fresh fruit in my smoothies. Idk, but they could use some frozen fruit to create a thicker consistency and some more ice to keep the smoothie colder for longer. Line - Well, no one really knows where to stand so we can get out of the way of others. It's like an awkward waiting in line, moving away from the line, and letting people know you aren't in line shuffle. Having something indicating where a line is and where waiting customers should go would be good. Those are my two cents on the side of the curb. read more

My daughter and I love Sprouts. We have been coming here to shop since she was tiny. The fact it opens early makes it super convenient for those of us that have been blessed with a child that wakes up at 4:30am, because, let's face it, I'm barely functional by 10am. When my daughter was younger, she LOVED to go to the meat counter and order "noodle meat" (ground beef) and the butchers were also so kind and helpful. The staff here have always been pleasant, helpful, engaging and kind. I am often wandering like I am lost, because I am. They often help steer me in the right direction to find what I need. They have a great variety of items. We have recently moved towards a more vegetarian diet and they have all the things we need to make this happen. They have ample free parking as well, which is always a plus. The sandwiches are delicious as are their smoothies. This sprout location has its own parking garage, there are spaces on the bottom level and if you drive up the ramp, there's more spaces on the rooftop (no shade). The deli section is nice and I can usually get the produce/meat/etc I need to make a last minute meal. Now, for the not so good parts. Customer service since the pandemic is hardly existent anywhere but many of the employees at this store are a special brand of disappointing. Many of the cashier staff are rude and spend more time talking to each other than they do keeping the line moving. I have encountered a cashier (I believe her name is Nina. Something with a N) at this location several times that is quite possibly the nastiest, most rude customer service representative that I have interacted with in a very long time. Today was no different. Super Bowl Sunday, I went to self check out to find her (Nina?) cradling the paper bags to her chest with both hands, while speaking to us customers like she was the Warden in a prison. "If you need a bag, I have the bags. They are 25 cents. They are not free. Select the option on the screen and I will give you a bag." She repeated these "instructions" several times in a tone that was rude, belittling, and clearly irritable. Her face and body language matched her tone. Unfortunately, someone missed a step and she had to assist them with paying for a bag. To her displeasure, she made her announcements again and included the parting message, "the bags are not free. That is why I said you have to select on the screen. I have made myself very clear." I quickly grabbed my items and left the store because wtf had I just experienced?? This lady is beyond inappropriate. She is angry and hates her job, and seemingly hates us for shopping at this particular location. To Regional Leadership, I challenge you to review the film from Super Bowl Sunday at around 4:20 PM for a front row seat to Nina's negativity and disrespect of your paying customers. read more

I ordered from Sprouts last Tues. Jan. 4th. It is now, Jan. 11th and I am still waiting for my order. They keep giving me a delivery time and keep changing it. It has almost been a week. This has been very, very frustrating. I have had to put off appointments and errands thinking that the order will come, but it doesn't and I am so angry. I don't get angry very often, but having to wait almost a week for my order is crazy. You could not pay me enough to use Sprouts again. They must have very slow people working for them. Liz in the vitamin section really turned my day around, and I just want to express my gratitude! I don't normally engage when approached by staff, but I have not been looking forward to hunting for what my doctor told me to find, and she somehow approached me at just the right time and made it SO simple! Very rude check out. I didn't see an open check-out available, just a small group of employees chatting and laughing a lot. So I went to stand in line at the only one that seemed open. An employee who was watching waived me over to a different register, where a distracted, laughing woman, with her mouth full, reluctantly came to check me out. Chewing and wiping her hands on her shirt, she rang me up incorrectly. Then she turned to talk loudly to her friends. I had to shout to get her attention again. The watching employee had to help her correct her mistake. It wasn't just her rudeness, but several others standing around laughing and distracting her! I've never had such terrible customer service at a Sprouts. And this one, on Broadway in Oakland, definitely just lost me as a customer. read more

This store has changed quite a bit. They did not used to have cashiers that hung out and chit chatted with each other while waiting on customers. I don't like that at all. Best organic produce prices around, the milk area is hit and miss because some guy comes in early morning and buys like 12-18 gallons of the sprouts organic whole milk so if you come in on one of those days you are just out of luck. I see other people have noticed it on the reviews also. My recommendation to management is : talk to dude about his business and order accordingly or keep some cases of the milk in the back and restock throughout the day as opposed to putting your whole inventory in the morning and having one dude take it all for the day or for several days. Customer service has plummeted since the pandemic everywhere, but some people at this store could use some deep training. I just saw it, thankfully didn't experience it, one of the head cashiers yelling at a doctor from the ER that works nearby ( he was wearing his name tag and uniform) the lady yelled at him about what register she was opened at, and he said : " sorry you're having a bad day" and then she proceeded to yell at him some more " WHAT MAKE YOU THINK I AM HAVING A BAD DAY? , I AM PERFECTLY FINE" yikes! poor guy, he's probably thinking life isn't that serious ( when he is in life and death situations at his work daily and probably watches young people die every week and here this lady that is in her late 30's and all she has to do is man a register, having an existential crisis and clearly not realizing it ) read more
