We love coming here for great beer and apps! Although their food is really good, too! Family friendly and lots of talented musicians.

I decided to check Aiken out last week and made sure to stop by GGB. I really enjoy trying local beer and figured I'd swing by. All in all, I really enjoyed my visit. They have a great space with plenty of seating, both indoors and out. They have TVs throughout the brewery so watching a game there is probably pretty easy. I started with the onion rings and then went with the double smash burger and I have to say it was solid. They also have a great selection of beers which included several guest taps. My only piece of constructive criticism is that when I got my 3 growlers filled at the end of my visit (because they have good beer and I wanted to drink more later), my growlers were neither sealed nor labeled. For those that don't know, breweries usually label the growlers with beer your ordered and seal it so it doesn't leak. I've only ever run into this once before, it was in Amarillo, TX. I didn't make a fuss about it but it didn't come off as the most professional or polished in that respect. I'd really like to see them reexamine this part of their operation and possibly consider branded labels for the growlers (so that you know what you're drinking) and branded caps (their dog logo would fit perfectly and be a good way to rep the brand). Overall, I had a great visit. But I'll inquire before getting my growlers filled again. read more

It was packed with a lot of people in the overflow parking. We had a group of about 20 and our waitress did outstanding. She kept the food orders straight and all of the drinks flowing. The fries came out hot and the burger was juicy. I suggest coming early if you want an outside table during a live venue. read more

This is a brewery dedicated to their dog, the good girl. The staff was friendly. The food Is what you would expect from a brewery, nothing amazing but good. There are only 2 bathrooms and there was always a line. The indoor section is just one big room with no sound absorption. If you have trouble hearing with background noise you will not love it. They do have an outdoor section that was closed when we were there. I love they have menu options for dogs! read more

I've come here multiple times since they've opened and truthfully I love it more each time. From the great quality beers and foods to the great environment, I genuinely love getting to come by. I usually get the hefeweizen, blonde ale or kolsch but you truly cannot go wrong with any beer here! The food is great but the onion rings are to die for (and I'm not an onion ring girlie). I'm from out of town and ended up coming here both of the days I was visiting just for that pretzel with beer cheese...the pretzel is so soft and the beer cheese is SO GOOD. The chicken tenders were also really good. They came with fries that were extra crispy and came as a huge portion--such a win!! Also had to try their burger--it was super fresh and cooked perfectly. Probably one of the best I've ever had! For beers, I tried a few of their in-house, including the new seltzer. The seltzer was definitely a favorite but they have a lot of good stuff on tap!! The venue is also really beautiful and well laid out. I wasn't able to see any live music since I visited during the week, but it looks like the perfect hangout spot! And the staff were really awesome--super friendly and made me feel right at home. I honestly wish I had more time to sample and experience more -- If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time. I was greeted by the friendliest beer tender. She was really helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be at work. Her smile was contagious. She led me through a few tasters before I chose the Rage Against Entropy DDH IPA. It's delicious. Medium body with a malty nose that reminds me of pumpernickel bread. It drinks really smooth and finishes with a fantastic bitterness. I also recommend the Gose Down Easy. It's smooth, crisp, and light. It has just the right amount of sour to leave you wanting the next sip. I also ordered the chili and beer cheese nachos. These were a little glutinous but oh so good. They boast a great patio and some putt putt holes to keep everyone entertained. When you come to Aiken, you must try this female owned brewery. read more

I went to Good Girl for the first time a few weeks ago because we had a friend visiting. My husband and I don't get out a lot because of our toddler who likes to run and not sit still. We were pleasantly surprised by the green space at Good Girl that gives him space to run and us a fun not-home environment to enjoy a drink or snack. Their food is a little overpriced (looking at you, delicious but tiny soft pretzel), but all good. I don't drink beer but they have tasty seltzers and I think some wine and cider. The service is great and friendly and we will definitely be back especially when the weather is nice! Indoor seating is limited. read more

Once again a new place that's run like a well oiled machine. Family friendly and the pooches too! Great brewery with fresh beer on tap. Great service with a smile. It's away from downtown near the horse district but nicely tuck off the citizens park where family's gather for soccer games. I think they need more parking which is a good thing!! Hello the brews are mainstream good with some unique aspects from local other companies and unique flavors from their palette. The food is easy bites that can you know feed everybody in the family. The staff is excellent, they're charming and they're much better than those what you get in the northeast. Thanks for a good brews. While the food was basic burgers and dogs they offer a broad range of local and commercial beer and ale. They also have some wine, but I wouldn't go to a brewery restaurant for the wine. Wife's food was great. She had the smash burger with onion rings. I had the Kate dog with fries. Kate dog is supposed to be burnt end brisket sausage. Not even close. Not sure if they got the wrong sausage or not but definitely not beef brisket burnt end. Fries were cold. Server ghosted our party of 10 while we waited to get our checks for 15 minutes. Stopped here Saturday night. First observation: The attention to detail is astonishing. This is no ordinary brew pub. I was here for a group function that was held outside and decided we would go into the restaurant for dinner. We were very disappointed in the service and the food. It took 45 minutes just to place our drink order and over an hour to get our food, which was cold from sitting on the server shelf the majority of the wait. We would have been more understanding if the servers were running to try to keep up, but the four or five young girls that were working were standing at the back corner chatting. Then waited an hour for apps (corn salsa and pimento cheese). Finally left after 2 hours with no food (hamburgers and hot dogs). Manager / owner (?) came by, found t shirts in our sizes but did nothing about food service. After more than 2 hours we canceled our food order and paid stil were asked to pay $200. Very disappointing since we took family from out of town there and were looking forward to a quick meal and then moving outside to take in live music. The best place for a night out in Aiken! They brew their own for every taste- I'm partial to darker beers (stouts and ales), while my wife favors lighter beers (lagers, but she loves the raspberry blond ale), and there is always something good to drink, including some guest taps. The food is consistently good, and everyone -the owners and the servers - are super friendly, attentive, and helpful. The dog-friendly outdoor area is very nice, although getting a table can be difficult on a nice weekend evening, especially if there is a band. There are a good number of adirondack chairs to watch the band stage, but you have to walk inside to purchase beers and food (no service except at tables). We have been going to Good Girl since we moved here a year ago from a major city (just after this place opened, coincidentally), and this would have been a go-to even in our previous hometown. Good Girl Brewing is an A+. It's a wholesome, friendly atmosphere, with kids and dogs welcome. (Dogs outside, obviously.) The beer is delicious, complex, and there's something for everybody. Soft drinks and tea available, too. The menu was more extensive than I had imagined for a brew pub. I had the burger and it was juicy with plenty of meat and cheese. Great service too. There are giant glass windows where you can sit and see all the brewing equipment - huge stainless steel containers, very high-tech. It's opening night, so service must be taken with a grain of salt. That said, we have been pleased. We arrived around 4, so were seated promptly having beat the post-work rush. And rush there was. At our table we watched car after car pull in with few leave. We left our table once finished with our meal and settled at some Adirondack chairs outside. Once outside we found it hard to flag down a server. Again, it's opening night, and the three servers for the grass were spread thin with just the distance between tables. Good on them. They're working hard, so I went to the bar and ordered. The owners did what I would do opening a restaurant; keep the menu simple. We had the beer cheese and pretzel which was over salted, but it's opening night, so it'll get worked out. The burnt end dog is excellent, but if you don't like bbq then it's not for you. The burger was the real star. It's reminiscent of the Steak-And-Shake smash burger. Two 4oz patties and white American cheese. Even my wife's insistence on ketchup couldn't detract. Seriously a delicious burger. The onion rings were very nice, and the crinkle fries were crinkley. The only thing missing are chicken wings. God, I wish they had wings! Overall I like this place, the fact I live a block over notwithstanding. The beer uses the appropriate yeast. The menu, while wing-less, is approachable pub food. We been traveling these few weeks and stop here to visit our daughters. We have a rescue. Dog so our food choices are limited. This place gets 5 stars and our server Tasha gets 10+. The Juicy IPA was good with a balanced hoppy flavor. Would rate as mediocre, compared to west coast microbrews. Service at the bar could improve although. Maybe they had a long day, but they were not so friendly after my initial order. No check backs, or how did you like it? For nearly $9 a pint (with tax), I will pass on this place next time. read more
