Additionally, the work order to replace the a/c unit listed replacing the #1 spark plug and the ignition coil because they had been removed. I have all kinds of questions about why 9th Street did that.

Scott's changed the differential gears on my Ford F-150 and "chipped" the engine for more horse power. The mechanical work was first rate, but the chip they installed did not contain the current data for my relatively new 2017, 5.0 engine. Even though the chip unit was installed, they took the responsibility and cost, and refunded the money for the chip in full. Anyone can make a mistake, but it takes good people to own up to it. These folks will treat you right.

They charged her a small fortune. It had to come back for a few times to be "fixed". She ended up having to pay another shop to do the work Evolution had claimed to do but actually didn't even open up the transfer case (confirmed by the next shop manager hat actually DID rebuild it) and the work was done on the trans was faulty. Evolution (or Transfix ) the old name, has been given many chances to fix this but refused. DO NOT GO HERE I wish i could rate lower that one star. You guys should be ashamed. Ripping off the elderly. I do hope carma find you sooner than later.

Stating that I'd pick up the vehicle at 5pm. The only time I could get a ride. It was dark when I got the vehicle just as they closed. When I arrived home I discovered that both back doors were disassembled with parts covering the floor (see photos). They were closed for the weekend so I had to rent a vehicle for my family as my van was now only a 2 seater. And I'd be without the vehicle again to get the door reassembled. They reimbursed me $39 for my inconvenience (their stated cost to put the doors back together). Months later I was shown (see photos) that they reversed the wiring for the brake light & turn signal. All this time I had only one brake light and no right turn signal thanks to their 'repair'. Two trips to new mechanic required to get it in working order .

At the moment, they have squeezed in my Sprinter, despite having a parking lot full of repair and maintenance jobs. My Sprinter needs a hard to find part, so they've rehabilitated the old part (it's an old Sprinter!). Other times, they have fashioned new parts in similar circumstances. Old as dirt, I have just never encountered a shop this good before. They offer a true worry-free experience.

He walked me through every step of rebuilding my transmission. I bought WEVO 915 Gateshift for my build. Ken had not installed one before. He liked the idea and didn't charge me any extra even though it was more work. The shop and the whole staff is first rate. The car feels absolutely great now. I forgot what a great shifting gearbox was after owning this car for 45 years. Now I know again. The shop was very transparent with pricing up front, and there were no surprises. The job was done in a very readable amount of time also. I wish that I could find an air-cooled Porsche engine rebuilder who could match my satisfaction with German Transaxle of Bend. Couldn't be happier.

Nobody works on transmissions for under $90/hr and you definitely can't remove and replace a transmission for $500. It is MUCH more than that. I'm trying to keep this short and to the point. I purchased a rebuilt trans from GTA and drove my VW Eurovan RV (see photo) to the east coast to visit my mom and my 90 year old grandparents. By the time I got from California to New Jersey the transmission failed. A bearing started making an incredible grinding noise and was getting louder and louder every mile. So there I was, stuck in Jersey in the middle of the winter. I exhausted a multitude of expensive transport options. I needed to swap the faulty transmission for a new one. The most logical option was to have GTA send a new one to a shop in Jersey and to send the old one back. GTA absolutely WOULD NOT send me a new transmission until they had the old one in their possession. (??) It made me feel like they didn't trust that I would give them my old core back? What do I know? I don't know how things go in the world of used transmissions. At any rate, no shop in Jersey was going to let my RV sit on their lift for 3 weeks while I shipped the old one and waited for a new one. Every shop reasoned that an immobilized lift would cost them thousands of $$ and apparently you can't just take out the transmission and move the vehicle off the lift, because the transmission bolts into the sub-frame and things get real loosey-goosey when you take the transmission out. My other option was to flatbed my RV from coast to coast. The cost for that is astronomical. I didn't have an extra $10,000 laying around. I seriously thought I was going to lose my RV ($30,000). I ended up ditching my plan to see family and had to limp my RV to a storage yard and fly home ($400) to CA and get back to work. 2 months later I formed a plan that I think no sane person in their 40's would do. I talked to one of the transmission shops I had talked to and asked them if they would help me save my RV. He thought I was crazy but he was aware of my position. He said he didn't want to see me lose my RV and if I really was going to do it, he would let my vehicle sit in his lift for 8 days, no charge. (973)628-0678 Anyways, I flew back to Jersey ($400), rented a car, put the old transmission in the back of the rental and drove and slept next to a transmission on the side of the interstate for 8 days (see photo) from Jersey to Bend and back to Jersey. ($800 rental + 7,000+/- miles of fuel) GTA inspected and agreed that their product failed. They said they weren't going to charge me the $1100 +/- for the damaged parts but they WERE going to deduct the mileage I put on the old transmission from the new transmission's warranty. (??) I was really surprised when they told me they could charge me. The owner helped me load the new transmission into my vehicle and after seeing my sleeping bag next to it, laughingly said "now, get to work"... I then drove all the way back across the United States. This an unemotional, factual account of a 5 month ordeal from me finding GTA online, getting my old transmission replaced with them, having the new transmission fail, almost losing my RV and, against all odds, figuring out a solution. Like I told GTA, if I owned their company, I would have sent my customer a new transmission without question right away and done everything in my power to make it right. I guess since they have the market cornered on the west coast, they don't really have to worry about that. Either way, my experience with GTA was costly, frustrating and time consuming. I don't hold grudges, but as a consumer, I feel it my duty to unemotionally relay to other consumers the facts here. My new transmission has performed well, but I would strongly encourage anyone working with GTA to: ***READ YOUR WARRANTY*** This can happen to you.

I hate to write a bad review for a local business, but here we go…read more.... OUR ENGINE WAS OVER-FLOODED WITH 6 QUARTS OF OIL My fiancé and I have been coming here for years without issue. I got my oil changed here in late May. In July, my check engine light came on that I had low oil levels. The crush washer on the drain plug was not replaced and caused an oil leak. Ok. Took it back to them and they addressed the problem and gave me a free car wash since my car was covered in oil. That same day, we noticed my skid plate oil drain cover was broken and flapping off ): For reference, I have had my new 2024 vehicle for 2.5 years and it has less than 20k miles, so it just simply is not being used enough to get this kind of damage. In fact, the last time I got my oil changed they told me the undercarriage was in great condition! After that, we decided to stay away from this establishment. My fiancé took his car in elsewhere to get his oil changed after his last one at Bend Express Lube in May. Turns out.... The engine had SIX EXTRA QUARTS OF OIL IN IT. That's a total of 12.5 quarts when it calls for 7!!!!!!!!!!! They had to vacuum the oil out to determine the total quantity that was overfilled!!!!!!! The vehicle was driven for 5,000 miles like that, on a low mileage truck!!!!!!!!!! I think we would remember if we purchased oil and added it willy nilly to a fairly new vehicle (we didn't do this)! Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I hope my review saves at least one engine.

Beware!! Jack did a tuneup on our mint condition Astro van…read more Charged us $700, overpriced, but we paid and thanked him. A few days later we started the van and it had zero oil pressure. We immediately shut it off and saw a huge puddle of oil under the van. He had left the old oil filter gasket under the new one, which resulted in an oil blow out. Jack came to us and replaced the filter and oil which we graciously thanked him for. Since then our engine has had a horrible knocking noise which was determined to be rod knock by another mechanic. We discovered Jack had also overfilled our oil this time by 2 quarts. We towed it in to Jacks only for him to attempt to say it's fine, just leave. We refused, and he finally agreed to look it over. A day later he said he could fix it by "thickening the oil" (that just hides the noise) I told him it needs an honest repair, not a bandaid. He refused, so we're towing the van out and initiating a lawsuit. Jack can talk a nice talk, but when push comes to shove, he will stab you in the back. Watch out for this shop
