I own both a Sprinter truck and a Toyota car. Import Performance services both. They are always quick, funny, and accommodating. At the moment, they have squeezed in my Sprinter, despite having a parking lot full of repair and maintenance jobs. My Sprinter needs a hard to find part, so they've rehabilitated the old part (it's an old Sprinter!). Other times, they have fashioned new parts in similar circumstances. Good at what they do but the decided not to work on my TN1 sprinter and for that I am deeply disappointed. This van has at least another 250-300k left to go before it's retired. I had a great experience here, especially being from out of town. On the way up to Bend, like a previous reviewer, I noticed one of my headlights went out as well. I called up a couple other highly-rated Yelp auto places, and they indicated they were all booked, and the earliest could have my car in was in two days. I continued my search, gave Import Performance a call, and was informed they could take my car in early that afternoon. Went for a quick hike that morning, had lunch, and headed to the shop. Landen was there in the office and immediately had his crew get to work. I waited in the nice waiting room for about ten minutes before being informed the fix was done as well as a double-check of the remaining light conditions, etc. I was happy with my service, however, that wasn't the end to the overall great customer service I noticed. While waiting and checking out the certifications on the wall, I overheard Landen speaking with another customer. Apparently the customer was stuck somewhere, I didn't hear the details, but Landen said he will have one of his staff drive over to the customer, get it started, and help her bring in the car for further assessment. Thought that was nice. One other separate thing I noticed that there appeared to be a loaner car available for customers. I didn't partake of it, but it was there. read more

Everyone involved with Import Performance are so incredibly nice and helpful. I have been going to them for the bulk of the last 5 years. I can't say enough about them! Honesty at a car dealership is so important, and they have always been upfront with me! I know they would never "tackle" something on my car and charge me if it wasn't necessary. This place is amazing! I was in visiting and realized I had a headlight out. They got me in immediately, fixed the headlight and a window issue I was having and charged me only for parts since it was so easy for them. Total $25. Highly recommend. I dropped off my 2003 Rialta to have the brakes replaced and just general maintenance items. I did not rush or pressure to have things done on a certain timeline and the whole process took a couple weeks. I live about two hours away and came to pick it up when work was completed. Driving home about an hour out I noticed a vibration. I assumed that something with the brakes was loose. I turned around to drive back and the vibration worsened. Luckily I had a friend with me who is more car savvy than I am. Turns out that they hand tightened all of the bolts on the drivers side tire. By the time We noticed what was wrong two bolts were missing and He had to reconfigure the bolts so they were in an order to have stability for the drive back. They did not have the bolts in stock nor could them get them that day and I had to leave empty handed. The level of sheer negligence was astounding. This could have killed me. This could have killed other motorists if the car tire had come completely off during driving. Maybe naively I expected at minimum the owner or manager to call me on this matter. But it's been a month and I was never contacted once. So. Balls in your court. Instead of replying and apologizing to this review. Give me what plan of action you have put in place to ensure this doesn't happen again. read more

Recently we got in the car to go on a road trip and one of our warning light was on. I called them 30 minutes before they were supposed to open and they answered the phone and said to come to the shop. I run a shop in Portland and believe that I can be more critical of other shops then most. One of our customers broke down in Bend. I came across these guys through one of our venders and sent her here. Our customer had lots of concerns, which led me to be the main point of contact for her repairs. They went and got the car for her, as she was forced to get a rental car and abandon her car. We took our Corolla in for a belt replacement. They told us the power steering pump was leaking and fluid was running to the belts. Therefore the belts were making noise. All this was false! Gave us a quote for $700 to fix everything, plus more quotes for other replacements that weren't needed. I have to say we have had good mechanical service here several times and they always get us in but NOW I have to have a carb replaced and they added 300.00 to the price they paid for the carb. Way too much of a mark up. I had to ruin my morning having a really bad discussion with the manager on this issue for 15 minutes or so. I was finally asked what I thought was a reasonable mark up which is not my job and they only added 100.00 to the already 556.00 carb. As a customer I should not have to deal with this and will go somewhere where they FAIR price. I hope every one that continues to use this business checks their parts bill. read more

These guys have certainly earned my respect. As I am only traveling through town time was of the essence. The car was previously diagnosed in Salt Lake City but the shop did not have the time to get the part. Import Performance did their own diagnosis and discovered the Mini Cooper needed an entirely different part. The car runs better than it has ever before. We were on our Christmas travels headed up to Mt Bachelor in our 2006 Sprinter Van RV when the engine died. Being in a strange town with a tight schedule it was both stressful and critical that we find a shop we could trust. Yelp pointed us to Import Performance. We arranged to have the vehicle towed to them while we got a rental car to Portland. I drove back the next day to meet with Tristan and a couple of other members of the shop. The engine had seized and we were looking at installing a re-manufactured engine. They asked the right questions, had informative answers to my questions, and laid out all the scenarios. The shop was spotless and there were also two other sprinter vans on the lot. They found an excellent deal on a replacement engine and kept me informed through the holiday period and had it ready when they said it would be. They also followed up over the following weeks to make sure everything was working properly until we made it home. My Honda broke down after shop hours and the tow truck driver recommended Import, as I am new to Bend and hadn't gone to a mechanic in town yet. I was very happy with the work they did to repair the clutch fluid leak. They were able to fit my car in their busy schedule and have it fixed in pretty good time. I have taken it back for a brake repair since then also. They are always upfront about needed repairs and costs, and communicate about them during the repair process, without trying to up sell. Integrity...Gabe and his team are honest and ethical, that is something your rarely find in automotive repair now days. For this reason, they deserve a 5 star rating. The team takes the appropriate time to explain in detail everything that require attention without anything add-ons. Our first experience involved a timely repair where the local dealer indicated it would be about a week. This involved our alternator that had failed. We had kid's dental appointments in town and needed some help. Although they were extremely busy, they said bring it on down and provided our family a loaner car to boot so we could make the scheduled appointments. During this repair, the team identified some other issues and we returned to take care of them. After this repair, we began to hear a sound we had not heard before.
