The store interior is nice and inviting and more importantly the staff working here is great! They are always more than happy to let you sample as many flavors of their juice as it takes to find the perfect one for your vaping pleasure. That way it's guaranteed that what you buy you'll enjoy since you've tried it before you bought it. Yesterday I was served by Randi and she continued the tradition of great customer service. I was in need of a new juice tank and as I expected she got me fixed up with the perfect solution to the problem I wanted to fix that was being caused by my previous tank that I'd bought elsewhere. Not only did she sell me the best product for my needs, she also was very patient when dealing with my many questions about not just the tank I was buying, but she also gave me some really good pointers on how to best use the different options on my battery to help me get the best results from my new juice tank. Yes, if you get to have Randi serving you then you are very lucky, but don't worry if you get somebody else waiting on you because I've received the same great service from all of their staff here on every visit to Freedom Smoke USA. I'm sold on Freedom Smoke USA and will continue to frequent them for all of my vaping needs. Yes, the cost of the equipment if you buy higher end devices can be a bit pricey, but compared to the price of smoking it's really cheap since once you have the equipment you only have to buy the juice from that point on. Not to mention non-smokers around you will really appreciate the fact that now instead of gagging them with the stinky smell of burning tobacco now you'll be exhaling smells that are very pleasant. It's too early to tell with absolute certainty just how safe vaping is compared to smoking, but as an ex-smoker who smoked for 34 years and who has emphysema from that I can tell you that my lungs literally feel a hundred times better now that I've given up smoking and gone to vaping instead. Even my doctor who's anti-smoking says that as far as she can tell vaping doesn't seem to be anymore hazardous than wearing a nicotine patch which is considered safe.

The juice selection can use some revamp as a few flavor are variations on other favors. The shear combinations of flavor and reliability of the mixers make their juice one of the most consistent offerings I have had the privilege of consuming. Brett and Art can mix some mean juices in a quick amount of time. As for the company, they have the same issues most employers have in the area. Holland is full of privileged people who just don't stand for what they preach, and Freedom Smoke has gotten their share of bad apples from the crop of potential gems the still live in the area. As a matter of fact, a previous GM was rude and quite frankly disrespectful to both his staff and the customers. Now, the MITs and GM are awesome at working with customers and each other. Randi and Jim are some of the coolest cats I have been grateful to meet. If you want straight forward, easy to start vaping experience, Freedom Smoke USA is the place to go in the Holland area.

From the original owner, George Howe, to his brother Michael Howe, to Ren Mireles, Adam Lee and Erik Alberg, this cozy (440 sq. ft.) shop has evolved and matured. Current owner Erik Alberg, aka"George the 5th", had been a patron for more than 30-years before purchasing the shop late in 2025, continuing the tradition. I've done business with them all. The cigar selection (120+ facings) is carefully curated to feature some of the best cigars available. As George himself was famous for saying "They're All Good!" New sticks are brought in regularly and old favorites also are stocked. New for 2026, Jorge's Cigars are back in the shop! Cuban American Jorge Casimiro started rolling cigars at George's Smoke Shop more than a decade ago and since has become a well-respected cigar manufacturer. George's Smoke Shop also features a wide selection of custom pipe tobaccos including the venerable "George's Blend", as well as pipes and pipe smoking accoutrement. Cigar lighters, cutters, and other items also are available. The cigar lounge at the rear features a half-dozen comfy chairs, two TV screens, and plenty of lighters and cutters. This is my go-to place for sports! One thing that sets George's apart from a lot of shops is that all the regulars, whether they're 21 or 81 years old, are friendly and welcoming. So, if you're looking for a second home...this just may be your place. (I know it's mine!) And if you're "just visiting" Holland, check it out while you're there. There's a reason downtown Holland is THE BEST downtown in America...and George's Smoke Shop is one very important element in that well-earned title. PS: No vape, no e-cigs, no cannabis. I purposely go out of my way to try to keep my business in small locally owned shops. Owner refused to sell me a $4 box of incense because he wouldn't charge my card for any sale under $10. I only had $3 cash on me so I started to walk away. He then decided he would "do me a favor" and agree to run my card if I bought a 2nd box making my total still under his $10 REQUIREMENT. I spent decades of my life in retail sales up to and including district mgr for HUGE chain of stores similar to this type of business. I also spent many years in customer satisfaction research in every scenario imaginable including as a secret shopper. If his goal is to upsell, I get it. Upselling can be a HUGE money maker when its done right. Upselling by way of threat or intimidation is morally bankrupt and only speaks to a lower level of care for customer retention. I will never be back.

I had gone there from the beginning of them opening until unfortunately, the end of them being open this last year. I can honestly say it saddens me to see this place not up and running anymore the bud tenders were Very polite and never was unattended from doing work duties. I do know that they have opened a new place in Bangor called provisions, but it saddens me that I no longer have any interest in going there to their shop. The sign always says open in Bangor Michigan but when you go up to the door, it's always a locked and I use the main entrance. or they're always low on good supplies. Just saddens me a good place of business/owner not sure if it was the best move but wish them well!
