Okay okay, I'm about to word vomit all over this review for several reasons. 1) these cakes are amazing. Like for real amazing, 2) they aren't just amazing to look at, but delicious & 3) dorea is amazing, fantastic & I seriously just want to marry her, but I can't :( She is one heck of a home baker who really just does it all. From the get-go, Dorea is one of the most friendliest, outgoing people you will ever meet. You can tell she's passionate about her work because you can tell how excited she is & her ideas really come to life. I originally booked her for May 2019, but then life events popped up! So my first cake ordered was for my S.O's aunt in March & boy was everyone impressed. I received nonstop questions about who my cake person was now! All of his family members raves over how delicious the cake was and how dense it was. It wasn't too sweet (lemon) & the vanilla buttercream was a perfect pairing. Dorea is as good as a baker gets! Cakes that are not only beautifully crafted, aesthetically pleasing, but are absolutely delicious. The cupcakes and cake are light and moist and the buttercream is to DIE FOR. Seriously the best buttercream I have EVER tasted (inclusive of all the cake tastings I did at high end cake shops for our wedding). Beyond the cake and cupcakes, Dorea is a true gem of a professional who understands the meaning of customer service. She responds via email, phone and text quickly and in a detailed manner. She offers suggestions based on general ideas of what you are looking for and offers a true collaborative process to get to your perfect cake and/or cupcakes. I first used Good Morning Bakery when looking to order cupcakes for an office birthday. We ordered red velvet cupcakes with chocolate and vanilla buttercream swirl. This has become our go to as they are so good! For my birthday, I got a VERY decadent chocolate cake adorned with chocolate ganache, brownies and white chocolate pieces. Absolutely the best cake I have EVER had (not to mention how beautiful it was). Because of fantastic experience in working with Dorea and how much all of our guests always rave about her cakes and cupcakes, we did not hesitate to work with her for our son's 1st birthday which was Up Themed. Not only was the cake scrumptious (strawberry cake with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream), she made a custom cake topper that was absolutely PERFECT. Some pictures of our cakes are attached. My go to baker in years past was unavailable this year and I came to Yelp in search of someone with similar talents. I didn't find that, I found someone with so much more. I contacted the baker a few months back after seeing these gorgeous cakes and immediately received a response. All I sent to Ms. Luther was a picture of a favor bag and a request to make something in the same vein. Almost instantly, she came back with ideas that wowed me. Sign me up. The process with her was completely seamless, Ms. Luther laid everything out up front, had amazing recommendations and her flavors list had my mouth watering. Pickup was equally seamless. Packaging was done with care and not one thing was less than impeccable and stunning. My sole regret is that I didn't utilize her talents in more than just funfetti (which was absolutely amazing). I ordered a traditional sized cake in standard unicorn, and my dear child instantly told me that she also expected a boy unicorn cake, in addition to the boy and standard unicorn cupcakes. For the price of a smash cake, I was given a glorious and delicious cake that could have fed the whole party. And that's her smash cake. It was insanity. I regret zero calories today from this dessert table. Basically, buy all the cakes, but do yourself a favor and sample her extensive flavor menu. read more

Dorea is just magic! She is amazing to work with - so quick to reply, an effective communicator and has an attention to detail and full of great ideas. She helped make a birthday so special with her peanut butter and vanilla frosted chocolate cupcakes. They were so rich and fluffy, its almost a sin. Dorea is amazing! We've ordered two cakes and 2 sets of cupcakes from her for our children's birthdays. Our daughter wanted a rainbow unicorn cake that had candy spilling out of it. I sent Dorea 5 different pictures of cakes from Pinterest and she managed to make sense of all our wishes and created the beautiful cake and cupcakes in the pictures. My daughter was over the moon for this cake and it was a hit at her birthday party. All of the parents and children wanted to know who made this gorgeous and delicious creation. We just ordered another cake and cupcakes for my son's birthday. He loves all things green and wanted a Frankenstein cake. Again I sent Dorea a bunch of pictures from Pinterest and she had great recommendations. Everything came out looking even better than we could have possibly imagined. Dorea is so pleasant and professional to work with. She wants to make sure that she has all the details exactly right and has great attention to detail. For example, for the Frankenstein cake - the screws that go on the side of his head were carefully placed in a separate baggie (with a ribbon bow!!!) so that they would not get ruined in the box/during transportation. Wow! Dorea outdid herself. I wanted to get a special cake for my husband's 40th birthday. I contacted a number of bakeries and ultimately chose Good Morning Bakery. Like other reviewers have noted, Dorea's professionalism - and more importantly her personality - set her apart from the rest. Unlike her competitors, Dorea took the time to correspond back and forth with me in a very detailed conversation to ensure she was making the perfect cake for the occasion. She was highly responsive and I never felt like I was asking too many questions or being too picky. She was very flexible with the pickup times (she is a home bakery so you need to determine pickup times in advance), even allowing me to change to an earlier time a couple days before. The cake was absolutely GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS. Honestly, it looked like it should be in a wedding magazine instead of on a plate in front of us! (Seriously, look at her pictures on instragram - you would not believe how perfect they are!!! Dorea is a true artist.) The cake itself was rich, moist, and had a great consistency. Omg, where do I start... I needed last minute cupcakes for my last minute birthday party and Dorea quickly responded to me and happy to make a dozen cupcakes. She also came up with this wonderful paint design to go with my paint and sip party. The design blew me away when I saw the cupcakes for the first time but the flavor of the chocolate cake and chocolate icing made me want to eat the entire box all by myself. Let's start off with that I don't normally do reviews and I almost never give a full 5 stars, and I am THAT PERSON that relies on reviews in trying something new. That being said, I am AMAZED by the quality of this cake that Dorea made for us! I had in mind an ombré feather themed caked with gold accents, and she delivered beautifully. She HAND-MADE EVERY FEATHER on that cake! A beautiful work of art. Now to the cake itself; it was a red velvet cake that was perfectly moist and not too sweet (I dislike super sweet cake to begin with) and was paired with a vanilla buttercream that was not too thick and delicious!
